"Is he really… the Great Priest?!" Goku's heart raced as he stared ahead. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't sense the man's power. It was like an endless fog—deep, silent, and terrifying. Compared to the angels, this man was on a whole other level.
Another being who stood above the gods.
"First time meeting, Son Goku." The Great Priest smiled kindly, his calm voice filling the crystal corridor.
The moment Goku heard him, his eyes shook. That voice… he knew it.
"You… you're the one who called me back then?!" Goku's whole body trembled. He remembered it clearly—when the One-Star Dragon's negative energy bomb destroyed him, he was swallowed by darkness. Back then, a voice had guided his broken soul… carried him to this new life.
That voice… was him.
The Great Priest.
Whis glanced at his father, stunned. So the connection between Goku and his father had already begun long ago.
"Yes," the Great Priest said with a soft smile. "I was the one who guided you into this world."
The air grew heavy. Goku had a thousand questions in his heart, but the Great Priest stood calmly, as if everything was already decided.
Whis looked curious, but stayed quiet.
"Weiss," the Great Priest finally said, "step back for now."
"Yes, Father." Whis bowed his head and left without hesitation.
Now, only Goku and the Great Priest stood together in the endless corridor of crystal light.
"Son Goku, I know you have questions," the Great Priest said gently. "Follow me, and you'll get your answers."
He turned and walked deeper into the corridor.
Goku clenched his fists, hesitating only for a second before moving. "Alright… I'll follow you."
…
The two of them walked through the infinite hall, silent. After what felt like forever, the Great Priest finally stopped.
"We're here."
The floor beneath them began to glow. Light spread everywhere, shaking space itself.
"What power is this…?" Goku whispered. He reached out with his senses—the energy was strange. Like the angels, but… different. It wasn't just divine power. It felt like it could shape reality itself.
The light grew brighter, shattering the crystal floor. The world twisted. And then—
They were standing in a new realm.
Goku's eyes widened. Around them floated countless visions, like windows to different worlds. In them, he saw moments from the past, the present, the future, and even parallel universes.
"What is this place?!"
"This is the Space-Time Corridor," the Great Priest explained. "The midpoint that connects all timelines and all parallel worlds. Here, you can witness everything—past, future, and present alike."
Goku's heart pounded. "You said I'd get my answers here… then tell me. What is it you want me to know?"
"Patience, Son Goku." The Great Priest smiled faintly, hands folded behind his back as he continued walking. "Follow me, and you'll see."
Goku gritted his teeth. "Tch… fine." He stepped forward, chasing after him.
As they walked, images flashed around them—timelines of different worlds.
One stopped Goku in his tracks.
"That's… when Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta!" His eyes locked onto the scene. A Saiyan stood against Frieza, fighting desperately.
The memory surged back. Goku's breath caught.
"That's… my father. Bardock."
He stretched his hand toward the glowing vision, wanting to help. "Dad…" His voice cracked with emotion.
But the Great Priest's voice pulled him back. "Son Goku, the answers you seek aren't in that time or space."
The light shifted. Bardock's final struggle faded, replaced with Frieza's blast swallowing Planet Vegeta whole.
Goku lowered his hand slowly. His chest ached, but he didn't cry. He had already avenged his people. He had defeated Frieza again and again. That path was already settled.
He exhaled deeply. "I see…"
Then, something else caught his attention. His eyes went wide.
"…No way."
In one of the parallel timelines, he saw it clearly—
A Saiyan had reached Super Saiyan 8… and beyond.
"What the hell…? A Super Saiyan that powerful exists… in another world?!" Goku's voice trembled, both with shock and excitement.
The fire in his heart burned brighter than ever.
"We're here," he said calmly. With a wave of his hand, a strange power spread out, and a huge light screen appeared in front of them.
The moment Goku saw what was inside, his eyes widened. His chest tightened.
On the screen was the moment the Evil Dragon was born. The One-Star Dragon rampaged across Earth. And then—Goku watched his own death all over again.
His fists shook. "This… this is my world?!"
Through the light, he saw what happened after he died. The One-Star Dragon killed everyone—his friends, his family, his children. The negative energy spread until even the universe itself began to collapse.
In the end, only Masked Black Goku appeared. He defeated the One-Star Dragon and sealed him away using the Scroll of Time.
Goku's eyes burned with pain. Everything… everything he fought for was gone.
"If I had just been stronger back then… even one-tenth of what I am now…" His voice cracked. He clenched his fists until his knuckles went white. "None of this would've happened. I was too weak. Too careless."
The Great Priest tapped his staff again. Another light screen appeared beside the first one.
This time, Goku saw something different.
In that timeline, after being swallowed by the One-Star Dragon's negative energy bomb… he didn't die. Instead, he stood up again. He gathered the energy of the whole universe, pushed past his limits, and destroyed the One-Star Dragon himself. That world was saved.
Goku's breath caught. His eyes shook. "That's… another me?! In that world, I killed the One-Star Dragon. But here, I failed. Why… why was I the one who lost?!"
The Great Priest's voice was calm, but every word pierced Goku's heart. "This is the truth of parallel worlds. Same world. Different endings. In one, you succeeded. In another, you failed. That is why, on a whim, I guided your soul into another time and space… so the Goku of the past and the Goku of the future could become who you are now."
Goku finally understood. His rebirth fourteen years ago wasn't fate. It was the Great Priest's doing.
"I see…" Goku whispered, lowering his head. "So everything after my death… was your plan."
But his voice wasn't filled with anger. It was steady, calm. He had already changed. He wasn't the same man who died back then.
The Great Priest stepped closer, smiling faintly. "Now that you've been reborn… don't you want to change the ending of your world? You are a god now. If you wish it, no one can stop you."
His voice was soft but heavy, like a temptation in the dark.
Goku froze. His heart ached. "Change my world's future…"
A part of him wanted it. To save his family. To bring back everyone he lost. But deep inside, he knew… that wasn't the right answer.
He shook his head. His eyes sharpened. "No. You're wrong."
The Great Priest's eyes narrowed.
"I might be a god now," Goku said firmly, "but I'm still human. Dragon Balls taught me one thing—today's results come from seeds planted in the past. If I try to erase what already happened, I'll just make a bigger disaster."
The Great Priest stared at him for a long time, then… smiled. A true, satisfied smile.
"…So you choose to carry the weight instead of running from it. Good. That's the answer I wanted."
He lifted his hand, and a shining portal opened behind Goku.
"This tunnel leads back to your world. To the time where you fought Beerus, the God of Destruction. You can return there. That is where your path continues."
Goku turned to face the glowing tunnel. He felt the strange pull of space and time swirling inside. He didn't know the Great Priest's true goal, but he could tell this wasn't a trap.
He nodded. "Alright. Thank you… Great Priest."
