Chapter 18 - Is This Magic Your Family's Legacy?

The Marvel World is a very mysterious place.

In this world, Gods aren't just figures of legend; they actually exist.

Leaving aside the unspeakable beings that reign over the Multiverse…

…even within the universe itself, there are Gods everywhere.

Like Odin of Asgard, Zeus of the cosmos, and Khonshu, the Moon God of the desert, these figures are frequently seen.

Beyond Earth, on other planets, there are also primitive Gods.

Many civilizations have their own Gods.

Although they are called Gods, most of them are just creatures with great power, not the truly omniscient and omnipotent Gods.

Because of this, these so-called Gods naturally have both good and bad sides.

Some evil beings are not easy to get along with.

Ororo knew that among the Mutants, there was a powerful being called Red Hulk.

He has always been referred to as a Mutant.

But Ororo knew his background; this guy was not a Mutant at all, but a representative of a certain evil being on Earth, spreading his reputation.

Red Hulk is just a title. Anyone who obtains that power can be called Red Hulk.

Indeed, it seems they gain great power, but after death, their souls cannot rest in peace.

Ororo feared that Xu Fu didn't know the seriousness of the situation and would be seduced by some evil God.

Having mastered magic, particularly Black Magic, through some special means.

It seemed he had gained immense power, but in reality, he had sold his soul.

"Xu Fu, you must understand that there are many powers in this world that you shouldn't meddle with."

"They might seem powerful in the short term, but you'll pay an incredibly heavy price later."

Ororo spoke with a worried tone.

Seeing Ororo's expression, Xu Fu simply laughed.

"Don't worry."

"Forget it, I'll just show you, otherwise, you'll never be at ease."

Xu Fu couldn't help but shake his head.

As soon as he finished speaking, Xu Fu directly reached out and made a slicing motion.

Golden sparks instantly appeared out of thin air, and the swirling golden sparks formed a portal.

"This is... Kamar-Taj magic!"

Ororo gasped.

Despite Ororo's difficult childhood, growing up as a street urchin…

Her ancestors had once been quite wealthy.

Their family history contained records of many things.

Having spent the last few years with the X-Men, constantly going on missions and dealing with various issues, she had come to understand Earth quite well.

Kamar-Taj, this mysterious and incredibly powerful magical force, might be able to hide from others, but not from her.

And it was precisely for this reason that Ororo was shocked.

Kamar-Taj's magic had never been passed on to outsiders. How had Xu Fu learned it?

Taking a deep breath, Ororo calmed herself.

"How did you learn it?"

"Do you understand how serious this is?"

Ororo spoke with a very serious expression.

Seeing Ororo's expression, Xu Fu couldn't help but shake his head.

Kamar-Taj was too mysterious; even Storm wasn't very knowledgeable about it.

In fact, he felt that Mutants didn't seem to understand much about anything.

Just dealing with the discrimination from ordinary people had already taken all their effort; it was very normal for them to react this way.

"Don't worry, Teacher Ororo, it's fine."

"You can understand it as a family tradition."

Xu Fu knew that Kamar-Taj wouldn't care about this kind of thing.

Actually, the renegades of Kamar-Taj did far more outrageous things than he did.

Later on, after Wong became the Sorcerer Supreme, he even hired She-Hulk as his lawyer to sue a Kamar-Taj renegade for misusing magic.

It was ridiculous!

Xu Fu was merely studying on his own, and Kamar-Taj didn't care. Ororo was just overly worried.

To comfort her, Xu Fu told a white lie.

Seeing that Ororo didn't believe him, Xu Fu spoke again.

"Don't doubt it. Our family was very influential in ancient times."

"A lot of magic was passed down from ancient times."

"This is something my deceased grandfather gave me, you can rest assured," Xu Fu said without needing to prepare, his face not even flushing.

When it came to talking nonsense, he was absolutely convincing.

Ororo nodded when she saw that he didn't seem to be lying.

"That's good."

"But you better not use this magic in front of others, it's not good for you."

"Also, come with me to see the Professor and hear his opinion."

Ororo spoke to Xu Fu again, returning to her usual demeanor.

Xu Fu sighed.

Since no fish were biting at the moment, Xu Fu decided to go with Storm, which would also serve as an explanation to Professor X.

It would prevent these people from panicking every time he got something new.

With a wave of his hand, another portal opened.

"After you."

Xu Fu gestured in a very gentlemanly manner.

Ororo rolled her eyes at him and went in first, with Xu Fu following close behind.

The two of them entered the academy and soon found Professor X, who had just finished a class.

Ororo then told Professor X everything she knew about Xu Fu's mastery of magic.

Professor X looked at Xu Fu in surprise and said slowly, "I did feel a strange power."

"I thought it was some mischievous youngster using their abilities."

"I didn't expect it to be you using magic. It really is beyond my expectations."

Although he said it was unexpected, Professor X didn't seem surprised at all; his tone was very calm.

"What are your thoughts on this?" Ororo asked, her face filled with concern.

She understood magic, so she was very respectful of Kamar-Taj, fearing that Xu Fu would get into trouble.

"Ororo, everyone has their secrets."

"We don't need to investigate the truth behind those secrets."

"As long as they don't harbor malice towards us, the academy will provide protection."

"Right?"

Professor X smiled and looked at Xu Fu.

Xu Fu nodded in admiration.

As expected of the leader of the X-Men, the backbone of Mutants, he was indeed reliable!

Look at him, now that's what I call vision.

That's what wisdom looks like.

Nobody likes a mind reader who pries into other people's thoughts.

Everyone values the privacy of their own mind; no one wants others to know what they are thinking.

Professor X understood this well and was very tolerant of it.

What could Xu Fu say? He could only give a thumbs up.

"You're right, Professor."

"Don't worry, I won't cause any trouble for the school."

"If that day ever comes, I'll leave here on my own."

"Don't worry," Xu Fu said.

"That's not what I meant. I'm worried about causing you trouble," Ororo explained.

Xu Fu smiled without responding.

It was precisely for this reason that he made such a promise.

Otherwise, he definitely wouldn't leave.
