Chapter 9 – Deceiving the Heavens, Crossing the Sea
"Yes."
Liu Meng's heart tightened. She knew the real show was finally about to begin.
Three days ago, her true body—along with a group of men—had been forced to swallow the Yin-Yang Inducing Pill.
Su Meier had once said: If you can endure for three days, you might just have a chance to live.
But how hard was that to achieve?
Over these past three days, men had one after another erupted with uncontrollable Yang energy, only to be dragged away by the servant girls, never to be seen again.
By now, there were only a few left in the cells.
And today, Liu Meng was tasked with bringing them out.
In the grand hall, she casually pointed at a few servant girls, then turned and headed for the dungeon.
As they walked through the cold, dim corridor, the servant girls barely dared to breathe. Liu Meng, however, was calculating furiously in her mind.
Am I really going to bring my true body before Su Meier? If Su Meier notices anything unusual, wouldn't that put my true body in grave danger?
If this had been before today, Liu Ming (her true body) would have had no choice—he would have been dragged into the hall like the others.
But now that Liu Meng existed as a clone, she could attempt something unthinkable—Right under Su Meier's eyes, she would deceive the heavens and cross the sea!
…
She interrogates the servant girls, redirects them, and under their absence, swiftly enters Liu Ming's cell. The prisoners cower, no one daring to interfere.
Just as Liu Ming steps out, he suddenly seizes Liu Meng, pretending to take her hostage, and shouts for the others to escape. One strong man bolts for freedom—
Only to collapse dead in an instant from Liu Meng's casual strike.
"Attempt to escape—death!" she declares coldly, striking Liu Ming down as well.
To the onlookers, Liu Ming is dead. His "corpse" is dumped among unconscious new prisoners. No one notices the trick.
When she reports back with the other captured men, even Su Meier on her high platform grows bored, dismissing them to single cells.
Liu Meng secretly breathes in relief. If her true body had been placed in a single cell under Su Meier's direct watch, it would have been impossible to spirit him away again.
…
Later, alone, Liu Meng absorbs the remains of Yang energy from a corpse but finds it too thin to be of use. She tosses the body to other eager servant girls.
She sits cross-legged, waiting. Finally—
[The next day has arrived. A new avatar can be summoned.]
The fourth day had come!
Liu Ming immediately transfers the pill's power into his third clone—Liu San—avoiding the destructive effects of the Yin-Yang Pill.
Liu San follows Liu Meng back to her room.
She knows hiding her true body is only temporary. With so many eyes in the sect, exposure is inevitable. The only true way forward—was to break through to the first stage of Qi Refinement, just like Qin Shuang, and become Su Meier's seventh disciple.
Only then could she openly remove her true body from this place.
Tonight—she must break through.
Liu Meng raises her hand toward Liu San.
But the black mask on her face suddenly pulses, unleashing a formless restriction that binds her soul. A law of heaven and earth itself—She is forbidden from draining Yang energy from the living!
Her expression changes. So the mask itself holds a seal! She cannot kill or absorb from the living at will. Even removing the mask is impossible—Su Meier's leash on every servant girl.
Luckily, when she killed the strong man before, it was because he had attempted to escape. Otherwise, even then, the mask might have stopped her.
But just as despair flickers—Liu San steps forward.
And then—he merges straight into Liu Meng's body.
Two clones of Liu Ming… could fuse together!
Her cultivation becomes even stronger, Yang energy surging within her.
All she needs now is to run the Xuanpin Art—and the heavens themselves will answer her call.
