Chapter 4 - chapter4

Song Yining hesitated for a moment, but still answered the call.

"Song Yining, I've arranged five women for your brother. They're all very skilled and have quite the track record," Xu Jichen said coldly.

"What do you want me to do?" After a long silence, Song Yining finally asked.

Xu Jichen seemed to let out a faint sneer. "Come to Yongning Hospital right now." With that, he hung up.

Maomao tilted his head up, watching Song Yining cautiously.

"Don't be afraid, I'll take you with me." After saying this, Song Yining glanced back at Song Yixing. As for the little starlet, she had long disappeared.

"You're coming to Yongning Hospital too. Don't make me drag you there." With that, she brushed past him with Maomao in her arms. Stunned for a moment, Song Yixing quickly chased after her.

"Sis! Sis!" he called, breaking into a run—only to watch her car speed away.

At Yongning Hospital,

when Song Yining arrived with Maomao, Xu Jichen, and Lawyer Bai were already waiting.

Both men eyed her warily. Pretending not to notice, she stood quietly with Maomao.

"Miss Song, everything is arranged. Please go in for the checkup," Lawyer Bai said.

Song Yining didn't move. Instead, she turned to Xu Jichen. "What's the meaning of this, President Xu?"

"I told you before, I don't want a bastard child." Xu Jichen lifted his gaze. "If you agree to this checkup, within reason, I'll grant you one request."

Song Yining let out a cold laugh, then left Maomao at the nurse's station before striding inside.

During the half-hour she was gone, Xu Jichen considered many possibilities. If she were pregnant, he would have her abort immediately—that was why he had brought Lawyer Bai along.

While lost in thought, the exam room door opened. The female doctor approached him quietly.

"Mr. Xu, she's not pregnant. And… she's never had sexual intercourse."

At those words, shock flickered in Xu Jichen's eyes. He looked instinctively toward Song Yining, who wore an expression full of disdain.

"I told you before, I only helped change your clothes. But you insisted on treating me like some scheming lowlife, thinking I'd steal your seed." She sneered, her voice laced with mockery. "Even if I liked you back then, I'd never stoop to something so vile. Besides, when a man's drunk, whether he can or can't—don't you know that better than anyone?"

Though her words stung, Xu Jichen quickly suppressed his irritation.

"Fine. I'll honor my word and grant you a condition," he said, rubbing his temples.

"Two," Song Yining countered.

Xu Jichen tugged irritably at his tie, but eventually nodded.

"First, those women you sent to my brother—send them to my father instead. And stop targeting my brother."

"Second, the land at South City Xingguang Hui—I want you to make sure Song Corp doesn't win the bid."

The terms were far milder than Xu Jichen expected.

That's it??

He almost said something, but Song Yining's heels were already clicking away. The next second, a sharp cry rang out from the end of the corridor—

"Sis! No, don't—ahhh!" Song Yixing's voice.

"What's going on?" Xu Jichen asked.

Lawyer Bai's lips twitched. "On my way to the restroom, I overheard two nurses talking. Miss Song scheduled a vasectomy appointment for her brother."

Xu Jichen: "…"

Seeing that he didn't object, Lawyer Bai continued, "Ever since that livestream this morning, a lot of people think Madam Song deliberately set up those siblings for ruin. The Song family is now facing immense public pressure."

Xu Jichen said nothing. He just glanced at that slender figure and turned to leave.e, Lawyer Bai hurrying after him.

After arranging Song Yixing's vasectomy and registering Maomao for both residency papers and kindergarten, Song Yining ignored all calls from Song Boyuan and Jiang Yuan. Now, with her tasks done, she was driving alone into the night.

Before transmigrating, whenever she was upset, she would go for a drive to clear her head.

Maybe because her mind was unusually clear, she quickly noticed something wrong.

Two cars were in front of her, and the one on the right was swerving toward the one on the left.

They were trying to cause an accident!

The thought had barely flashed in her mind when her foot slammed the accelerator.

She wasn't exactly brimming with righteousness—but in her past life as a CEO, she had survived similar schemes. After that, she'd trained hard at driving—even racing.

So… consider this a good deed for the day.

She tailed the car on the left. When the right car found its angle and suddenly swerved, she sharply turned her wheel and cut it off.

Caught off guard by her recklessness, the right car braked hard, spun out of control, and slammed into the guardrail.

Without lingering, she smoothly veered right at the next intersection and disappeared.

In the car she saved, the man put down his gaze and made a call. "Check that car for me."

At XinYi Jewelry,

No one knew the storm raging in Secretary Lin's heart. He had planned to resign this month, but ever since young Miss Song took over, the company had undergone radical reforms in just half a month. Her ruthless methods were nothing like the rumors.

"Secretary Lin, inform the PR department that there will be a meeting at 2 p.m." Song Yining's voice came from the office. He hurried to obey.

That evening, while searching for his sister, Song Yixing came across a link in his friend group chat. Clicking it, he saw XinYi Jewelry's official announcement—its new "Rebirth" series would be launched in half a month.

The news quickly stirred public attention. First, ever since his mother's passing, the company had declined, releasing mostly knockoffs of international brands. Second, this was Song Yining's first major move after taking over—everyone was waiting to see what the former Mrs. Xu could pull off.

Of course, judging from the comments, most were skeptical.

Seeing this, something flashed in Song Yixing's mind, and he scratched his head irritably.

When he finally arrived at Linjiang Villa, he stepped inside to see his sister sitting coldly on the sofa. She crooked a finger at him.

For a moment, he couldn't tell—was he the elder brother, or was she the one truly in charge?
