Parallel World, London University Dormitory, England, January 2000
William Dane raised his hands and drew a six‑pointed star of light in the air. A golden magic circle appeared, shimmering brightly.
With a pull of his hands, the circle transformed into a glowing rope. William flicked his wrist, sending it spiraling across the room until it wrapped around the back of a chair several meters away. With a firm tug, the chair flew toward him, and he caught it with a satisfied grin.
This was exactly the kind of magic shown in **Kamar‑Taj** from the *Doctor Strange* movies.
Closing his eyes, William extended his mind outward, sensing every corner of his dormitory. He could even perceive the dust beneath his bed—and a few forgotten coins. Concentrating, he willed them upward with the *Wizard's Hand*. To his amazement, the coin lifted into the air and floated into his palm.
Excitement surged through him. Like a child with a new toy, he began summoning objects from around the room—shoes, notebooks, even dragging the chair again until it crashed against the wall.
Suddenly, there was a loud knock at the door.
An annoyed voice shouted from the corridor:
"Damn it, man! Did you take something? It's late! People are trying to sleep. Keep it up and I'll call the police!"
Startled, William scrambled to open the door, apologizing rapidly until his furious neighbor finally stormed off.
When the door closed, he sank onto the bed, his heart still racing. The events of the past few days replayed themselves in his mind. Hesitation gave way to excitement.

(Flashback)
It had been nineteen years since he arrived in this parallel world.
Three days ago, he had been jolted awake by an electronic chime inside his head:
*Beep! Energy fully charged. Marvel Universe System activated. Basic magical knowledge granted.*
A system? Recharge? Nineteen years for a boot‑up?
Before he could process it, a torrent of knowledge crashed into his mind, knocking him unconscious. By morning, he had dismissed it as a drunken hallucination—yet the strange knowledge of *magic* was still there.
This world was undeniably different. Here, the King of England was Philip, not Elizabeth. The American president was named Benjamin Arthur, preceded by a woman. History itself was unfamiliar.
But his true origin lay elsewhere.
He had once been an ordinary office worker named John Wayne, living in 2019. His last memory was celebrating a cousin's birthday, drinking too much with family, and later—still a little buzzed—watching Avengers: Endgame on his balcony during a summer thunderstorm.
That's when lightning struck. Darkness swallowed him whole.
That darkness had lasted eighteen years.
By the time his mind matured, his two sets of memories fused together. He was no longer simply John Wayne or William Dane—but both at once.

(Flashback: Childhood)
Here, he was William Dane. Raised by his mother, Lena Dane, whose life was marked by tragedy. On a ski trip in Switzerland, she had met a bright, kind man—William's father. On the seventh day, an avalanche buried them both. She alone was rescued. His father was never found.
Returning to England, Lena discovered she was pregnant. She raised William alone, supported by her parents until their passing. They gave him love, education, and discipline. Yet, as a mixed‑race child in England, William was often isolated, bullied, and rarely accepted.
So he buried himself in study. His grandfather, Henry, a man of noble bearing, mentored him in classics, history, and etiquette. William thrived on learning, though peers dismissed him as a loner and a nerd. His effort eventually earned him a place at the prestigious Cambridge University, though he remained socially invisible.

Back to the Present
Until three days ago. Until the System awoke.
At first, William was frustrated. The Marvel Universe System wasn't like the protagonists in those novels he had read—no guiding spirit, no newbie tutorial. Only a library of knowledge: advanced sciences, technologies, and arcane arts, most of which were impossible to grasp without prior foundation.
But there was one starting gift: basic magic theory.
Skeptical but curious, he sat cross‑legged and followed the meditation instructions. To his astonishment, glowing motes of energy bloomed before his mind's eye: red, green, yellow, gold, and silver sparks. Magical elements.
And somehow, instinctively, he understood them.
For days he trained relentlessly, pushing aside food and sleep to practice. Tonight—his sleepless, noisy experiment—was the reward. He had mastered his very first spell: the Eldritich Rope of Kamar‑Taj.
Excitement welled inside him. In his mind rested not only magic but also fragments of cutting‑edge knowledge from the Marvel universe. With them, he could blend wizardry and technology…and carve out a future unlike anyone else.
William Dane smiled in the dim dorm light, eyes glittering with ambition.
This was only the beginning.
