Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 First Lesson

Dasha's POV

"Hello, everyone! My name is Miss Tina, and I'll be your homeroom teacher for the whole year."

"Hello, Miss Tina!" several excited children greeted in unison. The class began with Miss Tina introducing herself to the students of Class 1-D.

"Well, since I've already introduced myself, it's your turn now. Who wants to go first?"

"Me! Me! Me!"

"Me! Me!"

"I want to go first!"

Several enthusiastic children immediately raised their hands, eager to be chosen.

"Okay, okay, calm down, everyone. One at a time. Don't worry, we'll all get a chance to introduce ourselves."

After repeating herself a few times, the children finally settled down.

"Alright then, since so many of you raised your hands, I'll pick the one who raised it the fastest. The boy sitting in the third row near the window, please introduce yourself."

The boy she pointed at—a confident-looking child with blue hair—stood up from his seat.

"Hello, everyone! My name's Evan Jade. I'm six years old. My favorite food is ice cream. Nice to meet you all!"

Hearing his introduction, the other children responded enthusiastically and clapped their hands. After that, Miss Tina continued calling on the students one by one.

Each child introduced themselves energetically and was warmly welcomed by the class.

Finally, it was Eva's turn. She shyly stood up from her seat, her gaze fixed on the floor.

'Come on, Eva, you can do it,' I cheered for my little girl in my heart.

"H-hello, everyone. M-my name is Evangeline, but y-you can call me Eva," she said in a small voice. For a brief moment, the classroom fell silent. Eva's face turned red with embarrassment until—

"Hello, Eva!"

"Nice to meet you, Eva!"

"Wow, you're so pretty, Eva!"

Hearing their warm welcome, Eva's cheeks returned to normal, and a bright smile bloomed on her face.

The introductions continued until every child had taken their turn. Once it was done, Miss Tina gave the children some free time to get to know each other.

Eva was quickly surrounded by curious classmates eager to befriend her. She responded timidly to their enthusiasm, but soon the others gave her space and began chatting and joking among themselves.

Meanwhile, Eva started talking with Evan and a white-haired girl named Charlotte.

When free time ended, Miss Tina gathered the children back to their seats to begin the first lesson.

Once the children were seated, Miss Tina stood in front of the large screen at the front of the class.

"Alright, kids, we'll continue the introductions later. For now, I want to know how much you understand about the place where you live."

She tapped on the screen, and suddenly a projection of a globe appeared in the middle of the classroom. The students gasped in awe at the image hovering before them.

On the globe, areas of green and black could be seen—the black nearly covering half of the planet.

"This projection shows the planet we live on, called Earth. As you can see, there are green and black areas. Does anyone know what those colors mean?"

"I know, Miss! I know!"

"Oh, Jessie, can you explain it to the class?"

The blond-haired boy stood up nervously. "Uh…hmm…my dad said the green parts are called sa-sa…oh, safe zones. And the black parts…umm…dead zones?"

"That's absolutely right, Jessie! The green areas are called safe zones, where it's safe for us to live. The black areas are called dead zones because it's dangerous to live there. Very good, Jessie! Let's give him a round of applause!"

Clap! Clap! Clap!

Blushing under the applause of his classmates, Jessie quickly sat back down.

"Now, these safe zones are further divided into districts. Look closely at these lines," Miss Tina explained as she manipulated the projection to display borders dividing the green areas.

"Can anyone tell me how many districts there are and what they're called?"

"I know, Miss Tina!"

"Oh, Evan, go ahead then."

Amidst the confused expressions of the other students, Evan confidently stood up.

"There are 26 districts. Each one is named after a letter of the alphabet, from District A to District Z."

"Excellent, Evan! That's correct. There are 26 districts spread across the continents: 7 in Asia, 6 in the Americas, 5 in Europe, 5 in Africa, and 3 in Australia. Some of you might not know what continents are yet, but that's okay—we'll learn about them later. Now, Evan, one more question for you. Do you know which district we're in right now?"

"District F, Miss."

"Exactly! Everyone, let's give Evan a round of applause!"

Clap! Clap! Clap!

"Alright, one last question. Many of you may have already heard this story. When humanity faced the Overflow, people united to form the United Government. This great effort wouldn't have been possible without the contribution of a certain hero. Does anyone know his name?"

"Me! Me!"

"I know!"

Hands shot up everywhere as children eagerly vied for a chance to answer. Miss Tina's eyes swept across the sea of hands before settling on—

"Eva! Please tell us his name."

Eva stood nervously, her face flushed as she faced Miss Tina.

"H-his name was Martiz Alexander, Miss."

"Correct! Martiz Alexander, the First King of Mage."

After the short lesson, the activities continued with games. The children laughed together as they played, and even Eva giggled happily among them.

This was followed by short introductions to reading, counting, manners, and other activities.

While the children were busy, I spent time chatting and getting acquainted with the other parents. Occasionally, we were asked to join in and participate in activities with our kids.

Before we knew it, time had flown by, and the school day was drawing to a close.
