Chapter 15 - CHAPTER : 15 servitude or sacrifice

Sitting in their carriage, Abhay and Yamini passed through the massive gates of the Demon Sect, going straight from the 3rd to the 4th gate. At the large 4th gate, Yamini took out her token and showed it to the guards. Seeing the token, the guards allowed Yamini and her carriage to enter the 4th gate.

Traveling over paved stone roads and passing through alleys, they finally reached their destination. Yamini's carriage stopped in front of a large iron gate, where the guards saluted her, opened the gate, and gestured for them to enter. Looking at Yamini's grand mansion, Abhay froze as if he were dreaming. Yamini's house was shining in the darkness of the night, illuminated by the light of countless lamps. To Abhay, the three-story mansion was nothing less than a palace.

Yamini ordered the carriage to halt, and it stopped right in front of the house. Yamini then untied Abhay's ropes and told him to follow her. Obeying her command, Abhay followed her, and soon both of them stood in front of the large doors of the mansion.

As soon as they approached, the doors opened, and three maids were waiting inside, anticipating their master's arrival.

Bowing respectfully, the three maids greeted Yamini, "Thank you for returning home safely, Master."

Yamini then gave a command to the three maids, "Alright, come here. Today I want to introduce you to my guest."

Hearing this, the maid standing in the middle asked, "Is he the boy standing behind you, Master?"

Yamini pushed Abhay forward and said, "Yes, you guessed right. It is him."

The maid standing on the right asked, "What is this boy's name, Master, and for what purpose have you brought him here?"

Yamini realized something and said, "Oh, I completely forgot to ask his name." She then turned to Abhay and asked, "What is your name, boy?"

Abhay looked at Yamini in disbelief and thought to himself, "After traveling this far together, she doesn't even know my name?"

Looking away from Yamini, Abhay replied, "Look, my name is Abhay."

One of the maids asked, "Sir, is your name just Abhay? Don't you have a surname?"

The second maid chimed in, "Which kingdom are you from? Don't you have any acquaintances or relatives?"

The third maid then asked, "What exactly is your cultivation level?"

Abhay was about to answer the maid, but Yamini interrupted, "Look, this boy has lost his memory, so he cannot answer all your questions."

The maid in the middle asked, "But how did he lose his memory? There are no visible wounds on his head."

Yamini explained, "Look, it is very difficult for me to explain this, but a wandering physician I know told me that because he bled too much, his brain didn't get enough blood and oxygen, which affected his memory. In simple terms, this boy is suffering from amnesia."

Hearing this, all three maids were shocked and started looking at Abhay with pity in their eyes.

A blue holographic screen appeared in front of Abhay:

[ Target :- Tamash Guha is feeling pity towards you. Mool-ansh:- +0.001 ]

[ Target :- Chhaya Nagvanshi is feeling pity towards you. Mool-ansh:- +0.001 ]

[ Target :- Mridula Vajra is feeling pity towards you. Mool-ansh:- +0.001 ]

Being stared at with such pity by the three of them made Abhay feel extremely uncomfortable.

Yamini then introduced them to Abhay, "Look, Abhay, the girl standing in the middle is Tamash Guha, who is the head maid of my house. The maid standing on her right is Chhaya Nagvanshi, and the third and final maid is Mridula Vajra."

Abhay then said to the three maids, "It is a pleasure to meet you all."

Yamini then ordered the three maids, "Alright, it hasn't been long since night fell. Go and prepare dinner."

Following their master's orders, the three maids headed toward the kitchen.

A short while later, Abhay and Yamini were sitting at the dining table. Yamini had an array of delicious food in front of her, while in front of Abhay, there was only a bottle of bitter medicine and a bowl of light soup that would be easy to digest.

Dumbfounded, Abhay stared at his meager meal and felt disgusted looking at the bitter medicine. Getting irritated, he leaned forward and complained to Yamini, "Yamini, is this some kind of joke? You are eating such a delicious meal, and here I get this bitter medicine and plain soup?"

Lifting a piece of paneer with her spoon, Yamini replied, "Look, Abhay, that wandering physician strictly told me not to feed you a single grain of solid food until your wounds heal. And once your wounds heal, for the next two weeks, you must be given this medicine mixed with a light soup, which will speed up your recovery."

Abhay then pointed towards the bandages on his stomach and said, "Just look at this! The wound on my stomach has healed completely. Now, let me eat that delicious food too!"

After swallowing her bite, Yamini said to Abhay, "Look, Abhay, even though your wound has healed, your stomach is still fragile. It won't be able to handle this heavy, spicy food. If you don't want to suffer from pain, you have to eat that soup."

Irritated, Abhay said to Yamini, "Fine... fine, I'll eat it. But for how many days do I have to eat this bitter medicine and soup?"

Yamini replied, "Look, Abhay, considering your condition, the physician told me you have to avoid outside food for a full two months. And along with that, you have to eat this medicine mixed with that healthy soup."

Shocked, Abhay asked Yamini, "What did you say? For a full two months...?"

Smiling, Yamini replied, "Yes, for two months."

Abhay then asked, "So, how many more months do I have to eat this soup?"

Yamini said, "It has already been three weeks since we left that wandering physician's place and reached our sect, so you have five weeks left."

Abhay thought to himself, "What? 5 more weeks? That means I have to eat this same soup for another 35 days?"

Putting her spoon down on the plate, Yamini wiped her mouth with a clean silk cloth and said to Abhay, "Oh, right, I have one more thing to tell you."

Abhay, who was internally crying over his dietary schedule, looked up. Yamini said, "Look, Abhay, I have an excellent job for you that you will do perfectly."

Abhay looked at Yamini and asked, "What job?"

Yamini then told Abhay, "You will be assigned the job of a servant in this house. Will you do it?"

Hearing this, Abhay's throat went dry. He thought to himself, "Me, her servant? Is she crazy? I come from an era where being independent is a matter of pride, and here she wants to make me her servant? What if I reject her offer? If I refuse, what will this girl do to me?"

In his mind, Abhay suddenly pictured himself washing dishes while Yamini whipped his back with a lash.

Thinking about this, Abhay was terrified inside, but fighting off his fear and trying to comfort himself, he thought, "What could this kid even do to me? Kick me out of this house? Or maybe leave me in some deserted forest?"

Steeling himself, Abhay looked at Yamini and asked, "What if I reject this offer?"

Hearing this, the three maids hid their daggers inside their sleeves, waiting for their master's signal.

Immediately, a blue light flashed before Abhay, displaying:

[ Target :- Tamash Guha is feeling angry towards you. Mool-ansh:- +0.001 ]

[ Target :- Chhaya Nagvanshi is feeling angry towards you. Mool-ansh:- +0.001 ]

[ Target :- Mridula Vajra is feeling angry towards you. Mool-ansh:- +0.001 ]

Seeing these notifications, Abhay was left dumbfounded. He looked at the three maids and thought to himself, "What... what did I even say wrong to make the three of them so angry at me?"

At that moment, Yamini secretly signaled the three maids to lower their weapons and said to Abhay, "Look, Abhay, if you reject my offer, you will either be sold to an official here, or you will be forced to work in the mines forever, or even worse... you will be offered as a sacrifice."

Hearing this, Abhay was scared to death. He thought to himself, "What? Such terrible consequences? It's better if I just become her servant. At least my life won't have to go through such difficult situations."

Suppressing his fear and stopping his body from trembling, Abhay said to Yamini, "I accept your offer. I am ready to become your servant."

Hearing this, Yamini was secretly delighted and said to Abhay, "Excellent. Then from tomorrow onwards, you will wear servant's clothes and take care of my house."

Finishing her meal, Yamini then left the dining room.

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Abhay drank the soup mixed with medicine and thought to himself, "I feel like from tomorrow onwards, my days are going to be very difficult."
