Chapter 52: Shadows of the Throne šŗš„š
Lia
I stand outside the Ironfang pack house, the cool breeze brushing my skin.
They're all staring at me, their eyes heavy and serious, like I just broke something sacred. I cross my arms, my voice sharp but curious. "What? Why are you guys looking at me like I did something wrong?"
Dorian clears his throat and steps closer. His voice is low and thick with worry.
"Lia, you promised you'd be our Luna, not Ironfang's. You said you'd find someone else to rule, someone worthy. Being their Luna means you'll have to leave us."
His words land hard. I try to smile, but it comes out soft and awkward. My heart twists at the worry in his voice.
I don't want to leave them ā hell, the bond makes it feel like they're part of me now ā but that woman, my stepmom, and her son Ethan give me a bad feeling, like a storm ready to hit.
