Chapter 44: Into the Wolf's Den đșđ„đ
Dorian's POV
Lunchtime drags on, the dining hall heavy with silence, the air thick with the absence of Lia.
Her empty chair stares back at us, a reminder of her anger, her tears, her demand to be left alone.
The mate bond burns in my chest, a hot, restless pull, like she's calling me even though she pushed us away.
Me, Eric, Rick, and Dean sit around the table, the food untouched, our minds on one thing: Lucas.
That bastard thinks he can claim her, but Lia's ours, not his. We decided last night to go to the Blood Moon pack, to warn him to back off, to make it clear she don't want him. No more secrets, no more gamesâat least, that's what I'm hoping.
I stand, my chair scraping, my voice low. "I'm gonna get Lia. Maybe she's still upset, but she needs to eat."
Before I can move, a maid steps forward, her voice quick, nervous. "I already served Miss Lia her lunch, Alpha Dorian. She said she don't wanna come down, wants to be alone."
