Chapter 13 - Worlds and new information

Just like all the other demons that now served him, this demon also had a unique appearance. It didn't have any legs like the previous demon but was literally just a floating eye.

Its sclera was yellow with some small patches of red on it and its pupil was completely crimson, like most other demons.

Lucius wondered how it would fight with no limbs but suddenly remembered what that last demon had done when it was fighting the human army.

'Its able to control that same energy, that has to be it. And since in my status my demon energy is the only energy that I have no idea how to use im gonna make a wild guess and assume that it's able to attack with demon energy.' Lucius thought

Lucius took his mind off of that topic for now and instead focused on the aura that he had been randomly feeling ever since he started walking.

It was when he had walked over a hundred kilometers away from the village that he had started feeling a sort of pressure.

It didn't seem to be only him either since both Zafar and the eye demon that he had started referring to as Okulos had suddenly started to tremble when the pressure descended upon them.

Ever since that moment Lucius realised that there might be something extremely powerful close by.

The scenery did not change much even after walking over a hundred kilometers. There was still the crimson sea and the giant volcanoes every now and then, other than that there was nothing new other than the pressure that kept increasing.

It was only after walking for a couple more minutes that Lucius spotted something different, and interesting.

A couple meters up ahead was a demon that was eating a human, the demon itself had a very wild look and was a little humanoid. It had the head of a black wolf and also somehow had the body of a human.

The only other thing about the demon that wasn't human at all were its skin and its feet which were hooves. It also carried a large cleaver like weapon and was extremely tall, six feet at minimum.

'This can't be the one who was releasing that terrible pressure.' Lucius thought

'True, I don't exactly have a very accurate way to tell how powerful someone is but considering I could feel the pressure way before I even reached here, and now that I'm near him it barely increased, I think it's safe to say this demon is not the source of that pressure.'

The demon was eating the body of a dead girl and a dead man, from the way it was eating Lucius could tell it was also wary of the source of the pressure.

'Maybe it's intelligent?' Lucius asked himself

'I know absolutely nothing about this place and it's really bothering me, getting information should be my top priority right now.'

'Though I have no idea how strong it is.'

Deciding to take the risk, Lucius slowly walked up towards the demon, not in a silent secretive way but in a way that would allow the demon to know that someone was coming up towards it.

It didn't take long for the demon to realise something was walking up towards it, and as soon as it did realise it quickly stopped eating the dead humans and turned around to face Lucius.

He could see how the muscles in the demon's body were tense, ready to spring into action at any moment the moment it sensed any danger.

Its fangs were barred and a low growling sound could be heard coming from it, as if warning Lucius.

'This demon definitely isn't young, you don't just learn how to coil your muscles like that. And it's not attacking me on sight, which is a good start."

Lucius stopped just short of ten meters away, his eyes fixed on the wolf-headed demon

Okulos floated closer behind Lucius, its crimson pupil unblinking, and Zafar lingered further back, shifting nervously under the unseen pressure that still weighed down on all of them.

Lucius raised his head slightly, looking directly in the eyes of the demon. He knew it was almost never good to show weakness and considering he was dealing with a demon he preferred not to show any at all.

"I didn't come to fight you," he said flatly. "I came for information."

The wolf-headed demon stiffened, its cleaver twitching. Then, to Lucius' surprise, it spoke. Its voice was guttural and rasping, yet clear enough.

"...You can speak. And properly speak too."

"And you seem powerful."

Nodding to itself, the demon seemed to have come to some conclusion before it spoke again, this time less tense but still cautious.

"I have an offer to make." The demon suddenly said

"What offer?" Lucius asked

'So this one is strong and intelligent….and very experienced based on how he reacted when he saw me.'

"Help me in the conquest of a world and I shall, to the best of my ability, provide you with whatever information you require." He said in the same guttural voice.

Lucius blinked a couple times, processing the information. "Mere information alone isn't enough of a trade for me to help you in conquering a world. What else would I get out of it?"

The truth was Lucius was confused about the words being used. The demon said a 'world' very casually as if this wasn't its first rodeo. And it saying 'a' world and not the world hinted at multiple worlds which shocked Lucius.

And hearing all of this caused a small amount of excitement to bubble up from within him.

The demon frowned before replying, " It would be unwise to continue communicating in a dangerous area such as this, follow me."

The wolf-headed demon turned and began walking, its hooved feet crunching softly against the blackened ground. Each step seemed to leave faint cracks in the scorched earth, the sheer weight of the demon being that great to the point where stone would crack from it merely walking.

Lucius hesitated for a brief moment, considering the offer, before realising he had ample defense to fight back if need be. He didn't know exactly how powerful the demon was nor was he going to underestimate it but he wasn't going to back away from an offer that could potentially allow him to explore other worlds.

"Where are we going?" Lucius asked, his tone flat but alert.

[Fire resistance skill has leveled up]

'Almost forgot about this thing.'

"To a place… safer. Away from prying eyes and wandering lesser demons," the wolf-headed figure replied, its voice still guttural but carrying a subtle edge of authority.

'That term again.' Lucius thought

'It clearly has the word lesser in it yet the humans back then still feared it. I noticed how happy that woman with ice magic was when the robed human said I wasn't a Lesser demon, almost relieved.'

'Well, I'll get answers eventually.'

Lucius followed, maintaining a steady distance, and Okulos hovered just above his shoulder, its crimson pupil scanning the surroundings in precise coordination. Zafar shuffled along behind, surprisingly quiet.

As they walked Lucius noted subtle changes in the environment, there were more volcanoes, much more now. The crimson sea was still ever present and the air seemed to get hotter.

Suddenly, the demon stopped.

"From this point on we will be entering my domain." It said

Then it turned around and looked Lucius straight in the eye, "Do not attack anyone, they are of my domain and as such are my property. Breaking these rules will be considered you disrespecting me and you will be labeled an enemy."

Lucius nodded, not seeing anything wrong with that but went to clarify something, "While I respect your rules, if any of your people attack me or try to forcefully influence me in any way directly or indirectly, as long as they do it intentionally then I will attack with the intent to kill."

Surprisingly, the demon nodded at Lucius's words and responded, "If that happens, then they deserve death, attacking a demon of superior strength to you is not a simple matter."

They both nodded, Lucius went to ask what he meant before about them arriving but before he could the demon suddenly stepped forward and vanished.

Lucius's eyes narrowed as he instinctively raised a hand, entering into a combat stance and seconds away from summoning his shadow tentacle.

However, before he could he saw the head of the demon peek out looking straight at him.

"What exactly are you waiting for?" It asked

Lucius froze for a moment, studying the wolf head that looked like it was floating.

'Some form of illusion? A neat way to keep outsiders out I guess.'

Lucius mentally ordered Zafar and okulos to stay close to him and stepped forward, entering the domain of a demon.

As soon as he entered the sight of towering volcanoes could be seen, buildings made out of what looked like black stone everywhere.

There was not as many demons as Lucius had thought there would be nor were there many buildings either for what he expected but it was impressive nonetheless.

He counted about ten buildings, each of them surrounded a larger building that Lucius assumed was the demon's throne room or something.

"Welcome to my domain." The guttural voice of the demon sounded from beside Lucius

"Everything you see here is under my control. Every stone, every fire, every creature." The wolf-headed demon's voice rumbled, low and measured. "None may enter without my permission."

"Follow me."

Lucius silently followed the demon, still checking out his environment. He was still being cautious with this demon, and he needed to know places where he could potentially hide or use to his advantage in case things go south.

They arrived at the largest building, entering as they pleased. Upon entering, Lucius noted how this place wasn't much different from his village. In terms of protection and defense, yes, this village was superior since his was made out of wood and this demon's own was made out of stone, black stone to be precise.

But other than that, there was no furniture, the 'bed' was just black stone shaped like a bed and the throne was also just blackstone.

'Well what did I expect, he was born a demon. Why would he care about furniture?'

The demon moved towards his throne and sat down, a little bit in front of him was another seat that he motioned for Lucius to sit at.

"Let's begin the discussion." it said, getting straight to it.

"First, I will explain to you the world we are invading. Unfortunately it is not a world where humans are powerless, the humans there are born with power and are able to use it to do many things."

"According to some of my cult members the energy present in their bodies is called chakra, and the manipulation of chakra is called a jutsu. There are also five main nations in this world, the land of fire, the land of wind, the land of water, the land of lightning and the land of earth."

"The leaders of these nations are especially very powerful and are capable of incredible feats, do not underestimate them."
