The hallway felt like it was going to split open.
Daika's Alpha presence pressed down like a storm, heavy, suffocating, thick with hunger and warning. Akari's answered with sparks, sharp and reckless, biting at the edges of the air like wildfire daring thunder to strike it down. Between them, the space trembled, every breath charged with heat and challenge.
Rika's knees nearly gave out. Her lungs strained, her blockers barely holding against the flood of her own scent. Syrupy-sweet, desperate, screaming her Omega instincts to every Alpha in the room.
And they were both looking at her.
"Choose," Daika said again, voice molten steel. Her arm still braced above Rika's head, her shadow swallowing her whole.
Akari chuckled low, lips curling into a grin that was all teeth. "Don't pressure her, Daika. You and I both know Omegas don't respond well to cages." She tilted her head at Rika, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Do you, sweetheart?"
