OPTC Chapter 204 Chaos Beast

No one knew whether it was Moria's words that swayed Oars, or if it was the ability itself at work. Either way, Oars reached out and carefully lifted Moria, placing him into the cockpit inside his own body.

That cockpit had been specially modified by Hogback at Moria's request. It allowed him to control Oars more easily while also preventing enemies from simply bypassing Oars to attack the ability user directly.

Maybe it was because Oars's shadow had been drawn straight from the General Zombie, but he was especially obedient at this moment.

Excited, Moria decided to test Oars's strength in the exact way many clueless transmigrators would: he ordered Oars to punch his own castle.

With a thunderous boom, Oars's fist—larger than most houses—smashed into the stone walls. A huge section collapsed instantly, sending stones, bricks, furniture, and even zombies flying through the air.

"Gyahahaha~ Just one casual strike has this much power! If I give him a stronger shadow, imagine the strength he'll have!" Moria laughed like a child weighing eight hundred pounds.

"What's going on?"

"Are we under attack?"

"What is that monster!?"

Zombies screamed midair, and mixed among their panic was a furious voice:

"This bastard's insane! Why the hell would you test it by tearing down your own house?!"

It was Ye Yan. He had been leaning out a window watching the commotion when Oars's fist suddenly came crashing toward him. Terrified, he dove straight out of the window to escape.

"This height isn't good… Flag Spirits, come forth!"

Nothing happened. The Flag Spirits were still out searching and hadn't returned. Watching the ground rush closer, Ye Yan shouted desperately, "Summon! Chaos Beast!"

A giant yellow beast appeared out of thin air. It looked like a piggy bank without eyes or a mouth, complete with a pair of comically tiny wings that didn't fit its massive body.

The legendary ancient fierce beast, Chaos, in Ye Yan's hands, looked strangely cute.

Thud! Ye Yan hit the ground.

Boom! The Chaos Beast landed right after him.

Yes, that order was correct—the Chaos Beast didn't appear beneath him as he expected, but instead materialized above him, slamming down and nearly crushing him flat. Between the fall and the beast's weight, he almost coughed up blood.

"Dammit! Why'd you show up above me?!"

The Chaos Beast, sounding pitiful, explained in its special way that the signal here was bad. It needed time to adjust, and next time it would appear in the right spot.

Either way, with the Chaos Beast protecting him, Ye Yan could finally breathe a little. Still, that fall had hurt like hell. "Hope nothing's broken…"

"Moria must be out of his damn mind," Zhang Da Ye cursed while dodging falling debris. "Does he not care about his own stuff at all?"

Even when he told Shark Chili to tear things down, Zhang had warned him to avoid damaging the main mast because repairs would be a pain. Yet Moria, the previous owner, had gone all in on smashing his own place without hesitation.

Because of the massive tremor, the tower of plates Tom had painstakingly stacked collapsed into shards, leaving him so heartbroken he nearly cried. But right now he couldn't worry about that—wearing a cooking pot as a helmet, he darted left and right, narrowly avoiding heavy objects raining from above. If they got any bigger, Tom would have considered digging a hole and burying himself.

Cindolly had already retreated back into the castle, her attacks ceased. Watching the shattered plates, her sweet smile sent chills down the spine.

"Something feels off," Oars muttered, staring at his giant hand. "Feels like I should have a weapon."

Earlier, the tool he used to pry open the Shark Giant's toes had been an axe. With his hand empty, he felt strange. With Moria's approval, he pulled out a stone pillar from the ruins of the castle he had just smashed.

The pillar still had part of its base attached. It was more like a massive hammer than an axe, but Oars seemed satisfied, swinging it around and crushing another building he didn't like the look of.

"Gyahahaha~" Moria no longer cared about the damage. "If you want to fight, then go! The enemies are right there. Defeat them, and I'll make you even stronger."

Oars grabbed the pillar and strode over to where Zhang Da Ye's group stood.

Moria commanded, "That female swordsman is the strongest one. Take her out first!"

"Yes, Lord Moria!" Oars raised the pillar high and brought it crashing down—straight at Artoria.

Artoria swung her sword with both hands, releasing a sharp slash. But suddenly, Oars's attack veered… toward Shark Chili.

"?!" Shark Chili froze, then bolted at full speed. If that hit connected, he was finished. "Why the hell are you hitting me?!"

At the critical moment, Ye Yan's shout rang out: "Chaos Beast!"

The Chaos Beast rushed forward, wedging itself between Oars's stone pillar and Shark Chili. The massive blow landed squarely on its round body, but it was like hitting a giant balloon—the force dispersed harmlessly. The only drawback was that the Chaos Beast shrank a size after absorbing the strike.

Shark Chili patted its body in gratitude. "Ye Yan sent you, right? Thanks."

The Chaos Beast's head bobbed slightly, but Shark Chili couldn't understand what it said.

Meanwhile, Artoria's flying slash cut into Oars's stomach, leaving a deep mark on his tough skin.

"Ouch!" Oars cried out instinctively.

"No, Oars, you're a zombie. You don't feel pain," Moria corrected him, then demanded, "Why did you suddenly change targets?"

"Oh, so it doesn't hurt." Oars scratched his head. "I just felt like that shark monster used to bully me because he was bigger. I couldn't help wanting to smash him."

"Still influenced by the shadow's previous owner?" Moria muttered. "Doesn't matter. That shark thing needs to be taken down anyway. And that yellow creature looks interesting too."

"What is this thing?" Oars hefted the pillar again, smashing it down toward the Chaos Beast.

Ye Yan, Shark Chili, and even Tom—who had somehow slipped over—huddled behind the Chaos Beast. Ye Yan called out, "Boss! Think of something quick! The Chaos Beast might shrug these off, but every hit drains my stamina fast. A few more and I'll collapse!"

"You want me to think of something?" Zhang Da Ye patted Tom's head. "Tom, you go trip him first."

Tom shook his head violently. Trip that giant? His leg would snap instantly.

When faced with something way bigger than himself, Tom's first reaction was always fear. Just like back when he faced the elephant disguised as a mouse—with a gun in hand, he was still shaking so badly the barrel went soft.

Since the easiest option wasn't happening, Zhang Da Ye turned to Artoria. "Then it's up to you, Artoria."

Artoria tightened her grip on her sword. "Leave it to me. My blade exists only for victory!"
