OPTC Chapter 195 - Monkey Monkey Monkey Monkey Monkey

Absalom shouted at the fallen zombies, "Stop pretending to be dead! You're zombies, you can't die. So what if you get slashed once? Stand up and keep fighting!"

"Ohhh, so we can't die!" the dumb zombies suddenly understood. As long as they weren't chopped into pieces or had their limbs cut off, they could just get up and continue fighting.

But at that moment, Lu Da Shan's massive body came crashing down from above, landing right on top of the zombies who had just stood up. He even rolled on the ground after impact, making sure to crush as many of them as possible.

The zombies screamed instinctively as their bodies were flattened out of shape. This time, they really couldn't get up again.

"Yohohoho~" Brook took the chance to feed salt into their mouths. Streams of black shadows emerged from the zombies, flying back into the sky and returning to their original owners.

"Their shadows were pulled out?" Absalom was shocked. "How do you people even know the zombies' weakness?"

Lu Da Shan didn't say a word, answering with a fist the size of a cooking pot.

Absalom blocked with both arms but was forced a few steps back before disappearing into invisibility. "Why won't you talk?"

"My master said villains die from talking too much. Anyone who reveals information to the enemy during battle for no reason is an idiot," Lu Da Shan answered, carefully tracking the sound.

"What?" Absalom had never heard such logic before. Wasn't the whole point of having an ability to show off a little and shake your opponent's spirit? He felt mocked. "But you're answering me right now!"

Lu Da Shan lunged in the direction of his voice and smashed into him with an iron body tackle weighing hundreds of kilos. Absalom was slammed into the wall, leaving another crater in the stone.

Watching him spit blood, Lu Da Shan said, "Talking to you was only so I could figure out where you were."

With that, he raised his fist, ready to pound him again.

The beast organs grafted onto Absalom weren't from ordinary animals. His durability was top-notch.

Even so, after spitting one mouthful of blood, he almost spat another. What was with this world? How could a big simple-looking brute fight with so many tricks? Wasn't this supposed to be the part where he relied on his Clear-Clear Fruit to play them like fools?

Not wanting to take another beating, Absalom quickly raised the rocket launcher strapped to his arm and fired at Lu Da Shan's face. While Lu Da Shan tilted his head back to shield himself, Absalom escaped again into invisibility.

Meanwhile, Brook was humming a little tune as he darted around the endless horde of zombie soldiers. His skeleton body was light, letting him slip through gaps, sometimes dancing along the wall with a graceful triangle step.

One zombie after another fell to his sword and salt. But Absalom wasn't panicking. He had brought far more zombies than this. From inside the gate, even more soldiers poured out, swarming Brook and Lu Da Shan. Even if they couldn't win, sheer numbers could wear them down.

Besides, Absalom still had stronger zombies he hadn't revealed yet. The most important thing now was to take his bride while the two strongest fighters were occupied.

Yes, in his mind Brook and Lu Da Shan were clearly the most dangerous of the group. The ones left on the ship were just a weakling who couldn't fight and a delicate girl who must have been caught already.

But when Absalom climbed aboard the Amber, what he saw froze him in place. The deck was littered with corpses. Rui Meng Meng stood proudly, holding a broken sword, while Ma Lao Wu followed behind her sneakily stuffing salt into the zombies' mouths.

Was this really the fragile bride he had set his eyes on? Absalom grabbed one zombie and roared, "What the hell happened here?"

"Lord Absalom! It's too scary! That woman is terrifying, and she's a liar!" the zombie wailed.

When they had first boarded, they thought they'd scored an easy job—bullying a little girl and a skinny horse-headed monster. How hard could that be?

Even when the fight started, they still thought so. Rui Meng Meng really looked like a frightened rabbit, swinging her sword clumsily while screaming things like "Zombies are so scary!"

Even after she cut a few of them down, the zombies chalked it up to luck. But then she grew fiercer, and fiercer, until one girl was chasing an entire crowd, cutting them down like grass.

So of course she had to be a liar. She had tricked Lord Absalom into thinking she was weak, made him order them to capture her unharmed, and then revealed her true face—cutting zombies down without mercy. This woman was cunning beyond belief!

Even Ma Lao Wu, her ally, was stunned. He had thought this was finally his chance to play the hero and save the beauty. Who knew this girl would fight like a monster? If he really had to face her, his only chance of survival would be turning into mist to avoid being sliced apart. Best not provoke her—there wasn't a single simple person on this ship.

"Lord Absalom, maybe give up on her? You can find another one later that suits you better," a zombie suggested nervously.

Absalom struggled inside for a moment, then said, "No. We've raided hundreds of ships and this is the first time I've found such a good one. Once she becomes my bride, she won't be so violent."

He turned toward the wall and shouted, "It's your turn—Tararan!"

"Monkey monkey monkey monkey~" A massive creature, five or six meters long, crawled down the web from the wall, laughing creepily. "Your men are useless, Absalom."

"Hmph. Even if you're one of Perona's underlings, you should know what happens when you anger me," Absalom snapped. "Bring me my bride! Your ability is perfect for capturing people!"

Tararan didn't argue further. Absalom, Perona, and Hogback were known as the Three Weirdos, the only ones Moria treated as true companions. Naturally, they outranked ordinary zombies.

"What a huge spider! But… monkey?" Rui Meng Meng stared at the giant hybrid, unsure what to call it.

"Maybe a spider monkey?" Ma Lao Wu muttered in disgust. "Nasty thing. I bet this whole web is its work. Be careful of the silk—it might be poisonous."

Ma Lao Wu was experienced. He'd never seen a spider monkey before, but he'd faced spider demons. Against enemies like this, rule number one: beware the webs. Rule number two: beware the venom. Everything else you figure out as you go.

Tararan's monkey head had a pair of giant flapping ears. Seeing Rui Meng Meng and Ma Lao Wu talking, he cupped a hand to his ear and shouted, "Huh? What did you say?"

Ma Lao Wu couldn't help himself and shouted back, "Then why are your giant ears just for decoration?!"

A/N: Flags Demon had two forms—mist and solid. In mist form, he was immune to physical attacks, but his strength was weak. He could move things around with Ye Yan, like the Soul-Calming Gong, but in battle he usually needed to stay solid to fight.
