OPTC Chapter 170 I Don't Know, But I Know Who Does

"That's basically all our requirements. Anything to add?"

Artoria shook her head. There wasn't much to add; wanting a large kitchen and pantry already expressed her main needs.

Rui Meng Meng had no special requests, and Shark Chili was satisfied just knowing there would be a dojo to practice martial arts.

Tom didn't even want his own room; he was fine with his little nest and loved sleeping with his master.

"Alright, I've got everything noted. I can finish the design sketches tomorrow," Goodman said, folding the papers on the table and tucking them under his arm. "I really didn't expect you guys to gather the money so fast."

Zhang Da Ye replied, "We got lucky with high-bounty pirates. When's the deposit due?"

"High-bounty pirates being lucky? Only you guys would call it that…" Goodman said with a helpless shake of his head. He didn't even bother to brag about his own youth when he could take down three pirate ships. "No rush on the deposit. Once I finish the designs and check with the shipyard, your payout from those one-and-eight pirate ships should be enough."

Since the three pirate ships were all damaged, Zhang Da Ye jokingly called them one-and-eight pirate ships when delivering them to Goodman. This somehow tickled the shipwrights and became a running joke.

"Then we leave it to you, Uncle. By the way, do you know where to buy life cards or log poses?"

"That? There's a shop in 30GR. Merchants usually buy those kinds of things there, though I hear it's expensive."

Anything related to sailing in this world was rarely cheap, but Zhang Da Ye didn't mind. As long as the quality was reliable, money wasn't a problem. If needed, he could always go farm some more bounties.

So they said goodbye to Goodman and headed to 30GR, a famous shopping district in the Sabaody Archipelago. Nearby 29GR had many areas considered lawless.

There wasn't a strict boundary; it depended on the activity of criminals. When they were bold, even the edges of 30GR could be affected, but since Zhang Da Ye and the team had been keeping them in check, 29GR remained peaceful.

Zhang Da Ye had worried before whether their high-profile actions would draw attention from underground bosses, but he realized it wasn't worth fearing. A large force didn't necessarily mean strong combat power. Those leaders likely had plenty of mid-to-low-level fighters, like the Germa clone soldiers.

If worse came to worst, they could always run to the Navy base. The Navy would care if they had any pride left.

The shopping street was as lively as ever, with girls out shopping, couples strolling hand in hand, and kids tugging at adults for ice cream while holding balloons.

Now, Tom and Artoria were tugging Zhang Da Ye along. He was already used to it: "Buy!"

It took over an hour to get from 59GR to 30GR, and another hour to find the shop Goodman mentioned—not because it was hard to find, but because the street had too many delicious snacks.

"Bonachieur General Store."

Bonachieur was probably the owner's name. The naming style felt familiar and friendly to Zhang Da Ye.

The shop looked old but tidy. The owner, an elderly man with round glasses and graying hair, appeared lively.

The shop sold various nautical tools: record pointers of all sizes, permanent island pointers, simple sea charts, and books with a vintage feel.

"Life cards will be ready soon. Please place your nails here." Upon hearing their request, Bonachieur brought out a tray and thoughtfully included a nail clipper.

"You asked if animals and robots can make them. Animals are fine, but robots? I really can't help," Bonachieur said, looking at Shark Chili with surprise. He had never seen a robot like this—maybe a shark who ate a machine fruit?

Shark Chili shrugged. "Then it's fine. Missing me won't matter."

Artoria and Rui Meng Meng quietly trimmed their nails and browsed the store's items.

Zhang Da Ye couldn't help but smile while clipping his nails, remembering how he used to make jokes about Kizaru before crossing over.

Tom, however, hesitated, holding his paw and pawing at the nail clipper without cutting, unsure why he was struggling.

"Here, I'll help you pick," Zhang Da Ye said, grabbing Tom's paw and pointing. "Pineapple leaf, splash, it's not you, it's him!"

"That's it." Zhang Da Ye clipped the curved claw onto the tray, and Tom finally relaxed.

But Bonachieur looked at them like they were idiots. "For a cat, one paw's nails aren't enough. Clip the rest too."

Zhang Da Ye: …

Tom: …

"Da Ye, which ones should we buy?" Artoria asked, pointing at the log poses on the shelf.

"Let me see. No need for ordinary record log poses; we already got several from pirates. Buy two with three log poses each for the New World—that'll come in handy." Zhang Da Ye picked up two New World record log poses meant to be worn on the wrist.

"For permanent log poses, we already have one from Alabasta from Mr.3. For the rest, just grab one each. There aren't many anyway."

Not all island log poses could be in one shop; permanent log poses usually had to be made locally. The shelves seemed full, but many were duplicates.

The Water Seven log poses were the most numerous. This shipbuilding hub was particularly popular.

Zhang Da Ye also remembered their little enemy, Mr. Biznis, might come here. They had to check.

Other than that, the only clue was that Biznis hired the Baroque Works mercenaries. They didn't know if he hired them from Alabasta or Whiskey Peak.

Their first target after setting sail was to find whoever hired the assassin to make them pay (literally) to ease their minds.

They had played a trick on him once before and didn't know if CP5 had summoned him for tea yet.

After choosing the log poses, Zhang Da Ye grabbed two simplified Grand Line maps, missing many islands, with no detailed routes.

Each map only showed some famous islands and the rough Navy Headquarters location. Reverse Mountain was drawn clearly.

Though not too useful, he knew it would be valuable in the East Blue, since even Captain Buggy would lock such a map carefully in a safe.

"No log poses for the Boingre Islands?" Artoria asked, thinking about the food-filled island Zhang Da Ye had mentioned.

Bonachieur had never heard of it.

Zhang Da Ye explained, "The Boingre Islands are actually a massive plant. Like Sabaody, it likely has no magnetic field, so no log pose can be made."

Artoria looked disappointed.

Zhang Da Ye quickly added, "I don't know its location, but I know someone who does. We can ask them later."
