Chapter 38 - Death Symphony

When it's peaceful inside the castle, in the forest - not so much.

Akavesh, the leader of the horse, was having a breakdown.

'What is this ? why there are so many of them in the forest'

His eyes widened, in the sea of green, you hardly able to see other then leaf, yet the situation before him was really concerning

Almost three hundred people ware squatted in the forest floor. Their position were not random either, it's more like a mound, the closer to the river, the more person can he identify.

'They really cut out our water supply, but this fast ? and three hundred at that ?'

The thought of strategy time back then were gnawing upon him. His hand shakes, still controllable, but enough to pair with the thumping heart of his. The star position were still high in the sky, helping the elf to see amidst the canopy of trees. The situation looks grim, but he chose to command his squad to stay still.

No mistake were allowed, the first day, they need to prepare for what's to come.

But then, when he tried to look around, checking his team while scouting the enemy, something was happening. His breath hitched, and with tightened hand, he grip the branch he was sat in, while glance to the cloud of mist that starting slowly drop from a far.

"Kara"

He called, with a low thump, one elf women arrive on his side of trees.

"Tell the information to Terra, it looks like it's working"

Only nod come as an answer. Then, like whisper, she disappear into the see of trees.

His role were done, now, let the other team do theirs

On the other side, Gabriel and his squad was still waiting, like a sword still in it's sheet.

"What do we do now, Terra ?"

"About the mist ?"

His hand on chin, eyes absentmindedly towards the sky

"They really want to isolate the river... just as he thought"

They once again facing the flatland. Waiting for unknown moment to arrived.

"You can start now, Gabriel !"

That sentence was all it took for Gabriel blood to boil. He watched Terra, slowly walking to the castle while his grip got harder, clutching his beloved Zweihander.

"Attention"

His barrate voice howled, sending the command to the three hundred fidgeting student. Ready to be released from their leash. Before came here, Gabriel only told them one command - only attack where i tell you to attack. A small request, but enough to control three hundred stranger who never work together in their live.

And it seems that was the only command that matter

"Leave the forest and take their castle. ATTACK !!!"

Do you know what chaos is ?

It's the moment where hundreds of bodies, entering a free for all battle with only one objective in sight. A Castle.

That's not the worse tho, the worst thing is, magic exist.

And every single one of them are so eager to unleashed it

A second, that's what it took for the castle who stood in the horizon, an identical with the one on their side, to became free buffet.

People ran, some using soil to faster their sprint, some coat their feet with wind, enhancing their speed. Some make some kind of thruster, to once again, be faster. All kinds of imagination, popping one after another. And friendly fire was bound to happen, some burned, some tripped, some knocked on the side so hard they crushed into a tree. All of them charge, not just to win - but also wanting that Chael as a rewards.

Gabriel can't help to join them, holding the Zweihander in his right, dashing straight across the plane. His signature element was fire, the one he found it easier to use. A fire comet, that how he looks like right now. An luckily for them, the enemy castle was not guarded that much.

'Yea, they really put more effort into the forest'

He thought.

And Terra also looked at them with fervor. The fastest time to reach the other side was five minutes, and that's with full sprint - Yet some of them needed less.

The sound of two rock smashed against each other can be heard. Followed by a screaming, loud - slashing the heart of anyone who heard it. The battle has begun. A flare of magic, thrown everywhere, scream after scream, roaring one after the other. That until...

"Kenel Aran ... Death by burning"

A voice of unknown source echoing trough the dome, reminding the entire student that 'true death' may not be possible, yet the suffering still lingered even after they came back to the world. The aura of death, start gripping, choking, everywhere with more sound echoing, death after death announced in swift

"Hertel... Death by stabbing"

"Hendrick Swain... Death by burning"

"Keria Ellis... Death by crushing"

At that notion, Terra still standing like sculpture. His eyes closed, heart thumping not because of excitement, but the eeriness of the situation. If it's a real war, a lot of them would already be done.

"Sir"

That call jolt him up, throwing his little realization session into the gutter. A women elf was standing in the edge of his vision. With straight back, and face as flat as polished river stone.

"Yes ?"

"They deployed the mist"

With that sentence, Terra just take it with nod. The women already gone, but not like before, Terra can see her running back to the garden of trees. Taking his interest with how fast she is.

'Interesting girl'

he can't help but thought inwardly.

Then, Terra started to walk back to the castle. There was somewhere he needed to be. And the more he delay, the more dangerous it became. Yet, even with important thing around his neck, he forced to halt once again.

The reason ?

None other then our ever cheer girl. Her signature skipping pose, thumping around in the dark floor. Dancing around death announcement that kept ringing around the dome. It's like she either don't care, or just deaf. And i incline to believe the first one is the reason.
