Chapter 61 - Light And Lens

I exhaled shakily, barely holding onto my composure as I stood. My knees trembled once before locking back into place.

"Thank you for having me," I managed, bowing toward the main camera.

The door opened with a hydraulic hiss, revealing the dim corridor beyond.

The moment it closed behind me, the sterile brightness vanished, replaced by the murmur of trainees still waiting their turn.

But it was like hearing the world through water. Every sound muffled. Every movement distant.

My mind kept replaying one question on a loop: What are you afraid of people finding out?

My stomach churned violently, and I pressed a hand to my abdomen, breathing shallowly until the dizziness passed.

Jisoo spotted me first. "Jiwon! How was it?"

I forced a small smile. "Fine."

He blinked at me. "Just fine? That bad, huh?"

"No," I said quickly, perhaps too quickly. "They just asked… the usual stuff."
