Almost a week has passed since the last attack of the demons , this last week wasn't a peaceful one either . Small scale wars against the demons have already fought in the other base cities except Stellar City and Solar City .
The base cities are on high alert and the citizens have all been evacuated to the tunnel . The location of the tunnel has been completely been sealed off with extra security . The resources needed for the people inside to survive were already inside and in sufficient amount and thus , there shouldn't be any disturbance of resources .
The base cities have been completely sealed off as well and the missions outside the base cities and in the Starlit Forest have all been cancelled . The students in the Academy are currently guarding the defenses of the cities . Their roles were provided according to their ranks and strength .
This was the case for not only the Stellar City but the 5 Major Base Cities as well . The X-Rank Awakeners of the Stellar and the Solar Cities held meetings in a regular basis to discuss the counterattack measures against the demons . Although , the awakeners in the human side is enough to eliminate the beast tides but it consumes too much energy and also when the time between two consecutive battles is hardly 2 hours .

Kaito was resting on his tent . During the attacks , the awakeners have built temporary shelters on the battlefield which includes resting area , a medical clinic , a weaponry and a canteen . Resources such as food and water which are required for them to replenish their energy were being supplied by the city but they will eventually come to an end .
The food and water for the citizens inside the evacuation tunnels and also the awakeners on the battlefield puts too much pressure on the food resources . Although its only been a week since the attack started . That is the reason why Awakeners had to cook their own food in the camps and it mostly includes the meat of the ferocious beasts they killed during the seige .
Kaori entered the tent where Kaito was resting with a cup of coffee in her hand . Kaito was inside the tent with his arms covered in bandages and slightly injured battle suit . Even though Kaito is a SSS-level Awakener but even his mana will come to an end eventually . He has also deactivated the passive effect of his healing skill because even though it is a passive skill , it still consumes a bit of his mana overtime and during this invasion he could afford to lose even a ounce of extra mana .
He is one of the strongest on the battlefield and thus he needs to face against a large number of ferocious beasts alone to reduce the pressure of the other awakeners . In the process , he eventually gets injured and fights with those injuries itself . He activates his healing skills once in a while to heal his entire body and return it to it's peak form before the start of a seige .
"Is sister okay ?" asked Kaito with a weak smile .
"Big Sister Akari is okay and is resting in her tent" replied Kaori with a exhausted look .
"Alright"
"Do I need to call her ?"
"No . Let her rest . You should replenish your energy too . The next attack is almost around the corner"
"Yes"
Kaori left . Kaito weakly picked up the cup and started to drink the coffee . His mental strength is almost exhausted because he didn't wear his blindfold for an entire weak and the headache was increasing . He needs to keep his eyes open because it helps him sense the vibrations in the surrounding mana to detect the coming of ferocious beasts .
"The Demon God is attacking ruthlessly"
"I don't even have the idea about his next plan of action . Although , the casualities aren't that great but the ones seriously injured were plenty"
"According to the contract , our X-Ranks can't take action and he also can't take action personally but the other demon kings can on his orders . This is frustating"
Kaito's communication watch rang for a few seconds before turning off again . He took a look and found that his grandfather left a message . He read the message which said him to call him . He did what he was told to .
"Kaito , can you hear me ?" Kiyoshi's voice came from the other side of the phone .
"Yes" replied an exhausted Kaito
"I can understand that you are not in a good shape . I am sorry for not being able to help you"
"No , it's okay . I have to live upto my rank , right ?"
"Yes , anyways . According to our mana reading , a huge wave of mana is in 200 kilometers range"
"Is it another horde ?"
"No , it's coming from a single entity"
"Demon King" Kaito's weak voice suddenly became steady and cold .
"We suspect this too . Be ready . He will reach your destination within three hours"
"Okay"
Kaito disconnected the call . He originally wanted to take a bit of rest but now it seems to be difficult . First , he needs to increase his combat effectiveness . He thought of mastering other skills but it would require a decent amount of practice to be used to it's full potential . Kaito opened his status screen as his eyes roamed around for a few seconds and then it landed on the 'intelligence' stat .
'Intelligence' is a stat which is mostly used for auxiliary purposes . It doesn't directly effect combat . It can raise the mental power of human awakeners and most people only use it for tactical planning or strategy making but it also has other uses . For example , psychic control .
Although , he has the 'Spirit Control' which can be used to manipulate objects including his mental power but it doesn't work on weapons . He has tried many times and although , successfully control the weapons to attack but he always felt that the attack power was weak . He finally made up his mind to learn psychic control .
Kaito entered his spirit library . He started searching .
"System , select a psychic control type skill"

A few seconds later , a skill book landed on Kaito's hand . He read the front page where the name of the skill is written .

It was an X-Rank skill and extremely powerful . Kaito sat on the ground as he started to read the book with his mana connection .

Kaito was satisfied with the knowledge he gained . He exited the spirit library and immediately contacted his grandfather . He planned to control daggers with this and thus he needed his grandfather's help . Fortunately , Kiyoshi picked up the call .
"Tell me , what happened ?" asked Kiyoshi
"I need some weapons" replied Kaito (his voice cold and stern)
"Weapons ? Okay , tell me how many and what grade ?"
"Atleast 20 daggers or short swords and it would be best to be above A-grade"
"Dagger ? Why do you need them ?"
"Mental power attack"
"Don't tell me , you have already mastered the art of using mental power to manipulate weapons ?"
"Correct"
"You are unbelievable . Okay , I will transfer it to you in one hour"
"Thank you"
The call got disconnected . Kaito needed to be in his peak condition to fight and thus he activated his healing skill to rapidly heal his injuries .

Kaito's injuries were all healed in an instant . His bandages had become useless and all injuries including internal and external had healed . His mental power has also been regenerated . The only problem is that Kaito hasn't sleep for around a week and although his mental power has been recovered , he still felt a fatigue in his body . But , he also knew that it isn't the time to sleep .
Kaito came out of the camp . He looked towards the place where the awakeners are eating before war . No one was in great shape as they were all slightly injured . Kaito just went towards another direction . S-Rank awakeners and above really don't need food to survive or oxygen to breath . They can replenish their hunger and thirst with their energy and mana but they usually don't do that unless it's a desperate situation .
Kaito being an SSS-Rank awakener and also the strongest among the ones present , naturally had to sacrifice his food and water for the others to have plenty of resources . He hadn't eaten anything for a week but it didn't affect his combat capabilities .
He originally wanted to visit his sister but he assumed she was resting and didn't disturb her . He sat down near his tent and started to absorb the energy from the atmosphere . His mana reserves were already full after a few minutes and thus he concentrated expanding his mana pool . In this week , he has killed almost more than 3000 ferocious beasts alone and leveled up quite a lot but he noticed that his level up currently invested only 0.5 stat to each category but his mana and health bar continued to increase as it did before . His current mana pool nearly had 3,000,000 points in mana .
It was enough for him to last several hours continuous fighting .

Almost one hour later ,
A car which came out of the alloy doors of the base city and stopped in front of Kaito's tent . Two awakeners wearing Sakura Family's battle suit came out of the door and stood in front of Kaito .
"We greet the Young Master" they said in unison .
"Did you bring the things ?"
"Yes sir"
"Good , take it out"
They went towards the back trunk and pulled out 5 metal boxes with password security and kept them inside his tent .
"Sir , the orders have been delivered"
"Okay . Now leave and inform grandfather that the war is just about to start"
"Understood"
"Also , mention him to increase the power of the barrier to the extreme"
"Alright"
"Good"
They left . Kaito went inside his tent and saw the boxes . He placed his hand on the fingerprint sensor as it started to scan Kaito's body . After a few seconds , the mechanical voice sounded .

[The security modules have been unlocked]
The 5 boxes opened one by one . 4 among the 5 boxes had his daggers . 5 in each box and amounting to exact 20 . The daggers weren't normal . They were like a half circle with blades on opposite sides of the metal . He picked up a dagger . The left blade pointed downward while the right blade which was rotated pointed upward . The blades were extremely sharp and one small cut can tear his A-level battle suit .
Kaito placed the dagger back and looked towards the fifth box . It had a black fabric material inside it kept with caution and carefullness . It was a battle suit . Kaito's eyes lit up . His current battle suit is almost damaged and it cannot provide him with any more amplification .
Kaito took out the battle suit and changed it with his current one . He could tell by first glance that this was an S3 level battle suit and is the top battle suit in S-level . He was extremely delighted . He also noticed 5 compartments near his waist and it was for placing some things . Kaito immediately understood and placed his 20 daggers in those compartments . It was a perfect fit .
Kaito was just expressing his happiness when he suddenly felt the disturbance in the surroundings . He came out and noticed everyone has sensed it . The vibration was really loud and everyone could sense it . Kaito's face immediately turned cold and expressionless .
Akari and Seina came towards him .
"Kaito , did you sense it ?" asked Akari
"I did" a deep and hard voice sounded .
"Do you know the source ?" asked Seina
"Probably a Demon King or being with similar strength"
"A Demon King ?" asked Akari and Seina together .
"Correct and thus , evacuate"
"What ?"
"Return inside the barrier of the base city , now"
"But , we can't ….We…"
"Go!!"
Kaito's voice trembled the entire battlefield as a burst of mana knocked the two girls . They looked towards Kaito with confusion but found that Kaito looked towards the front battlefield .
They didn't wait any longer as the two of them issued the evacuation order . Everyone upon hearing the arrival of a demon king quickly retreated towards the base city . Within a matter of minutes , only Kaito was left on the battlefield . Everyone who had returned to the base city stood above the city wall and looked over . They saw Kaito didn't change his expression or position and stood like a statue .

A few minutes later , a huge shock wave sounded and the surroundings resonated . The ones inside the city barrier also felt this shock wave and only one thought came in everyone's mind .
'We can't fight against this one'
Kaito was still standing with a more serious expression . The SS-Rank awakeners can sense the emotions running inside Kaito at this moment . It was excitement , worry , restlessness and lastly exhaustion .
Another wave of mana was released but it stopped after colliding with Kaito . He looked towards his front as everyone's attention shifted too . They saw a huge flame of red blood mana which was released from a single person and he was coming out of the Starlit Forest . The mana released brought a great sense of suppression even to the SS-Ranks .

Kaito stood like a pillar and watched the entity coming towards him . He came towards Kaito with slow steps and stood in front of him . Kaito could feel the anger inside his heart and the mana which was being released .
"Are you Kaito Sakura ?" a deep and cold voice sounded .
"That's correct" Kaito responded as his eyes glowed blue and a wave of mana was released from him too . It was comparable to the one in front . Both their mana were like a huge flame of blue and red colours respectively . The voice sounded again .
"His Majesty has asked me to bring your head"
"Oh ? Do you think you can take it ?"
"It's easy but it won't be fun if I kill you right away . I will play with you for some time"
"I am honoured . Now get back to your fucking place or I will tear your face apart"
"Insolence !!!" shouted the demon as a wave of mana released but Kaito had no effect .
"Do you know who I am ?" asked the demon
"1st disciple of 35nd Demon King Black and also a master of space abilities"
"Oh ? You are quite well informed but let me correct you . I am indeed Black-sama's 1st disciple but I also am the 45th Demon King , Rio"
"You defeated that fucker ?" asked Kaito with a slight surprise
"Don't insult our kind . Yes , the previous one was a fucker but you don't have the right to say that about him , lowly human"
"Oh ? I don't think I am though . I am stronger than you and even your master is an ant"
"Shut up !!!!!!"
A large explosion occurred next moment as clouds of dust rised in the air . The two entities vanished within the cloud .
"Just this much is your strength ?" a deep voice of Rio sounded from inside .
The dust settled but what everyone saw was too shocking . Even , Rio was shocked . Kaito stood their with the punch of Rio on his left cheek but didn't move an inch . The ground beneath was crushed with force but that's it . Kaito covered his hand with mana and punched on Rio's face as he flew away . Kaito said in a deep voice .
"War begins !"
