"Mother! Mother!" Elijah's voice tore through the village air, panic laced in every syllable. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him, the weight of unconscious Adrian cradled carefully in his arms.

Behind him, Kol and Klaus stumbled over roots and rocks, carrying Rebekah between them. The little girl's wails echoed sharply, each sob piercing the quiet evening. "ian! ian!" she shrieked, tears streaking her face.

"Mother!!!"

He was running full tilt, his arms locked tightly around Adrian's small, limp body. The boy's head against his shoulder, frighteningly still.

Esther rushed from the hut, skirts brushing the ground. Fin right behind her who just a week ago fully awakened his magic.

She looked at Elijah's white-knuckled grip, Adrian's motionless form, the tears staining Rebekah's cheeks.

"What happened, children!?" she demanded, her voice edged with urgency.

Elijah nearly collided with her in his haste. "It's Adrian—he collapsed by the river!" His voice cracked, breathless.

Esther's heart lurched. She guided them inside, clearing space on the bedding.

Elijah darted inside, laying Adrian on the bedding with careful hands. Esther followed, already pressing fingers to his wrist, then his forehead, then peeling back an eyelid. The other children clustered close, breathless, silent except for Rebekah's sniffles.

The room held its breath until Esther finally exhaled.

"He is only fainted. No grave harm has come to him."

"Finn, bring the bottle 2nd to the left"

Finn who was just beside her dahed to the rack and got the potion she wanted and handed it over. Esther opened the bottle put her hand behind Adrian's head and carefully lifted him up to an angle and opened his mouth and fed it to him a small gulp just in case.

Relief sagged through the group. Rebekah immediately crawled closer, clutching Adrian's hand with her tiny fingers as if she could anchor him.

But Esther's eyes narrowed. "Now. Who will tell me what happened? Why did he faint?"

The children glanced at each other. Kol looked guilty, Klaus fidgeted, Elijah pressed his lips together, and Rebekah simply cried harder. The siblings exchanged uneasy glances. Kol's mouth opened, but Elijah spoke first, voice low. "It happened at the waterfall this morning…"

Flashback – At the Waterfall

That morning had been bright, the air alive with bird calls and rushing water. The children loved the waterfall—it was a world of its own, shallow pools, slick rocks, and sunlight dancing on the rippling stream.

Kol- Adrian and Klaus splashing water at each other just then.Kol had a spark of mischief in his eyes.

Hey Nik ,Adrian I have an idea!.

He leaned close to Adrian and Klaus, whispering, "Let's get Elijah wet."

Adrian's face lit up at once, "We can trick him," he whispered back, eyes darting toward Elijah, who sat upright on a rock near the water, watching Rebekah chase butterflies.

"So my friend, What's the plan?" Klaus asked, already smirking.

Adrian thought quickly, his mind racing faster than most children his age. "Klaus, you pretend to slip. Fall into the water—make it look real. Kol and I will call for him.

. Klaus smirked. "And when he reaches out…"

"…we drag him straight in," kol finished with a grin.

The three boys giggled, already tasting victory.

Elijah, standing on the bank, kept a steady eye on little Rebekah, who was toddling after a butterfly. He frowned at the boys' whispering. "Don't wander too far!" he called.

Klaus trotted to the stream, made a show of stepping wrong, and tumbled into the water with a convincing splash

Klaus flailed suddenly, splashing water. "Help! I'm slipping!" he shouted, playing his part.

Kol and Adrian rushed to him, grasping his arms dramatically and hauling him toward the bank. "Elijah, quick!" Adrian yelled, feigning struggle.

Elijah sighed, annoyed but dutiful. He reached out a steady hand—only for Kol and Adrian to grab him with mischievous force. With a yelp of surprise, Elijah tumbled into the shallows, water spraying everywhere.

Kol doubled over laughing. Klaus surfaced with a triumphant grin. Even Adrian's laughter rang clear, bright with mischief.

Elijah emerged sputtering, soaked through, glaring at them all while his hair dripped into his eyes. He opened his mouth to scold, but his sternness melted when Rebekah clapped her hands, squealing with delight at the sight of her serious brother dripping wet.

It was perfect. The prank had worked.

But joy ended in a heartbeat.

A blur—fast, dark, almost formless—lunged at her.

Rebekah froze, a tiny scream bursting from her throat.

Adrian reacted before thought. A raw instinct gripped him. His hand shot out, small fingers trembling, and he shouted her name "Bekah!!!"

A surge of power ripped from him like a wave. The clearing seemed to jolt. Invisible force slammed into the rushing shadow, hurling it backward through the air. It crashed into a tree with a sharp thud, leaves shaking down around it.

When the dust cleared, the "shadow" revealed itself—a raccoon, stunned and dazed. With a hiss, it scurried off into the forest, leaving only silence behind.

But Adrian was swaying. His face had gone pale, his breaths ragged. The burst of magic had torn through him, too much for his small body. His knees buckled, eyes rolling back, and he collapsed into the water.

Elijah's heart stopped"Adrian!".he shouted.

He scrambled to Adrian's side, lifting him carefully into his arms. Panic overtook the others—Klaus and Kol dragged Rebekah away from the edge, her cries now shrill and desperate.

There was no more laughter. No more prank. Only fear.

Back to the Hut

Esther's expression hardened as the tale ended. Her healer's eyes studied Adrian's body, still limp but peaceful now, as though he were only sleeping. Her witch's mind, however, raced.

What they described—what Adrian had done—was undoubtedly magic. It was most likely Pure, raw, uncontrolled, magical outburst due to unstable emotions.

But that was impossible.

Neither of his parents were witches. His bloodline carried no trace of the Craft. Magic required legacy, connection, lineage. Children did not simply… wake one day and wield power like this.

Her chest tightened. She thought of Ayana, her dearest friend, the only one she trusted to speak of such matters. She thought of the balance of magic, of the ancestors who whispered through the earth, of what it might mean if a child outside the lineage could wield such strength.

Esther's decision came hard and sharp. She stood, skirts brushing the dirt. "You will all remain here," she ordered, voice firm, brooking no argument. "Do not wander. Watch over Adrian."

Her eyes fell on Finn, who had been sitting quietly in the corner with his practice marks scratched into the dirt. "Finn, keep an eye on them. If your father returns, call for me at once."

Finn straightened, proud to be trusted, though worry lingered in his eyes.

Esther stepped out of the hut, her mind a storm.

She had to know what this meant.
