Belle's POV
The news was already waiting for me before Jasper walked through the door.
I was in the living room, legs curled under me on the couch, the television murmuring in the background. I wasn't even paying attention until the words "car accident" and "Talia Monroe "floated into my ears. My head snapped up so fast it made my neck ache.
On the screen, a reporter stood outside a hospital, her voice sharp with urgency. Behind her, flashing red and blue lights painted the night, sirens still echoing in the distance.
"—socialite and businesswoman Talia Monroe was rushed here earlier this evening following a serious car accident downtown. Details remain unclear, but eyewitnesses claim her vehicle was struck by another driver at an intersection. She was taken to the emergency ward in critical condition. No further statement has been released by the hospital at this time."
