Their car slowly came to a stop in front of a large villa. At the gate, they saw an old butler who had already been waiting for them. He bowed respectfully and said,
"Master and Madam are waiting for you, please come inside."
The family followed the butler in. Near the garden, they found Grandpa sitting on chair, holding his stick, staring off toward the greenery, while Grandma sat beside him with a gentle smile.
Eren's mom stepped forward to greet them.
"Father, Mother… how are you both?"
Grandma smiled warmly.
"We are fine. And you all are well right"
Grandpa only gave a small nod. Then Grandma asked,
"Where are Ryker and her father They should have come too."
Eren's mom, a bit awkward, replied,
"They were both busy… and Ryker's phone wasn't connecting either."
Grandpa immediately spoke in a harsh tone,
"These are nothing but excuses!"
Seeing the sternness on his face, Grandma quickly calmed him.
"Oh, old man, why do you get so angry?"
Her eyes then fell on Eren and his younger sister. Her face softened instantly as she said affectionately,
"Oh my granddaughter, you've grown up so much!"
Eren's sister happily hugged her grandma. Grandma embraced her and softly said,
"Children grow up so fast…"
After a short pause, Grandma sighed and added,
"Now my only wish is that Ryker and Eren both get married soon and bring their partners here. I want to see their children before it's too late."
Hearing this, for the first time a flicker of tension appeared on Eren's otherwise expressionless face.
Grandpa immediately chimed in,
"Yes, from these bastards, this is the only hope we have—that they'll finally do something. Right, Eren? So, when are you introducing your partner."
Eren replied in a calm, cold tone,
"Grandpa, I haven't even completed my graduation yet. We can talk about this later."
Grandpa tapped his stick hard on the ground, glaring.
"You brat, you'll never listen to me. You're all the same!"
Eren just sat there quietly, with his cold expression still in place. Grandma, in a soft voice, said,
"Enough, old man… calm down."
To lighten the atmosphere, she joked,
"With Eren's cold and expressionless face, who would even give him any attention? I bet the girls would run away just looking at him!"
Eren's mom and sister burst out laughing at that. For a moment, the family shared a laugh together, but Eren's eyes still held that usual coldness.
