Chapter Two: Bitch of the Outerverse
The alley was gone.
Now, she stood on the edge of a fractured skyline—a planet split into floating shards of skyscrapers, bridges dangling in nothing, neon wires pulsing across the void. Beneath her? A bottomless black storm, lightning shaped like screaming faces.
The system pinged.
[Entering Outerverse.]
[Difficulty: Insane.]
[Recommended Party Size: 12.]
[You: Solo.]
She smirked, dragging the cigarette. "Twelve? Nah. One's enough."
Outerverse Raid
The first wave hit fast—chrome soldiers in cracked riot gear, glowing blue eyes, rifles humming with void-fire.
She didn't dodge. She welcomed it.
Her machine gun whirred from her thigh, ripping rounds faster than their screams. Rose-metal plating flashed as bullets ricocheted harmlessly off her skin. A soldier lunged with a void-blade. She snapped his arm, shoved it through his throat, and tossed him into the storm below.
[Kill Registered. Level +1.]
[Kill Registered. Level +1.]
More came. Mechs with screaming human faces bolted to the chassis, crawling tanks with ribcage armor, winged demons spitting molten tar.
She danced through them. Bullets, claws, laughter.
Every death? More levels.
Every kill? More power.
By the time the wave ended, the skyline dripped blood.
Level 100.
She spat out smoke. "Cute warm-up."
Boss of Shard City
The ground shook.
A skyscraper cracked open like an egg, black ichor spilling down its sides. Something crawled out—thirty feet tall, humanoid, skin stitched with barbed wire, its face hidden behind a porcelain mask smeared in crimson. Chains dragged from its wrists, each link ending in a screaming soul.
The system whispered:
[Boss: The Warden of Shard City.]
[Kill Reward: +50 Levels.]
She smirked. "Now we're talking."
The Warden swung a chain. Buildings collapsed like paper. She dodged once, then grabbed the chain mid-swing. Rose-metal veins pulsed, muscles snapping with impossible force.
"Mine now."
She yanked the Warden forward, slamming her fist through its porcelain mask. Black ichor sprayed. The Warden screamed, voice layered with a thousand souls.
Didn't matter.
She ripped its jaw off, shoved the machine gun down its throat, and unloaded until its body collapsed in on itself, a twitching husk of shadows and bone shards.
[Boss Defeated. Level +50.]
Level 150.
She stretched, cracking her neck. "Guess I'm overleveled."
Bounty in the Outerverse
Before the corpse dissolved, a hologram flickered across the sky—an Outerverse announcement.
[WARNING: Entity Identified.]
[Codename: Rose-Metal Bitch.]
[Status: Rogue Reanimator.]
[Bounty: 1,000,000 Levels.]
Across the shards, hunters stirred. Vampires. Cyber-ninjas. Alien mercs. Gods with broken halos. They all turned toward her.
She looked up, blood dripping from her chin, cigarette still burning between her lips.
"Million levels on my head? Cute. Guess the whole Outerverse just volunteered to die."
End of Chapter Two
Her laugh echoed across the fractured skyline.
Rose-metal veins glowed brighter.
The Outerverse trembled.
This bitch wasn't stopping.
