Thor walked out of the beam of light from the Rainbow Bridge, holding his grumpy hammer in his hand. After the beam of light dissipated, he saw the two people who greeted him.
Luke and Nick.
Seeing Thor become much calmer, Nick's expression was a little complicated.
"Where's Star-Soul?" Thor, after exchanging pleasantries with the two, immediately pressed the point. In front of familiar faces like Luke, he remained straightforward and frank.
"Are you sure you want to bring that thing back to Asgard?" Nick asked, still confused. In his opinion, Thor probably wanted to prevent Ragnarok more than anyone else, but now he was actually going to create one himself?
"What is it? A star soul?" Thor was a little surprised by Nick's question. He looked at Nick and thought for a moment before saying, "You can't deny that it's a good thing, right? Asgard spent a lot of money on it."
"You still want Asgard's money?" Nick turned his gaze in astonishment again and looked at Luke beside him. He knew that Luke in front of him was very greedy for wealth, but he didn't expect him to be so greedy.
From what he said in the collection room, it seemed that such a planned project had already existed, but he could turn around and not pay, and let others pay for him, and even bear the planning and project costs. This was simply outrageous.
Thor's brain might not be able to handle it, but what about Odin?
Judging from what Luke said, it seemed that the God King Odin had also been dealt with.
"Why not?" Luke was puzzled by Nick's astonishment. "That's a star soul! A star soul that can hatch a powerful Titan! To use the game's terminology, it's at least a divine beast's egg or something. If there's no benefit, why wouldn't I keep it for myself?"
Do you know what price Mephisto and Dormammu offered for it? If it weren't for the promises made to Azeroth by the other me and the Ancient One, Asgard wouldn't have even bothered to take it. Mephisto and Dormammu would have fought over it long ago."
"Don't worry, I made the decision after understanding all the information and discussing with Father God. At least it can make Asgard and the Nine Realms more stable and stronger. There are other ways to break out of the shell." Thor smiled at Nick and said without worry.
This is just a weak and incomplete version of the Star Soul. If we want to wait until it replenishes itself and starts evolving again to break out of its shell, it will take tens of thousands of years without any assistance.
This period of time is enough for the Asgardian gods to become stronger under the influence of the Star Soul.
As Odin said, their current position doesn't allow them to be powerless. Their partners are becoming increasingly powerful, and if they don't keep up, they will inevitably be marginalized. Perhaps even more tragically, the outcome will be even worse.
The fact that those demons were willing to sit at the conference table and cooperate with each other did not mean that they had abandoned their previous style and concepts of doing things.
"Have you sorted out the Asgard's underground veins as required?" Luke asked proactively to be on the safe side.
"If the blueprints you gave me are correct," Thor said confidently, "With the combined efforts of my mother, Karnila, and the three magic masters, including the Father God, and my divine ministry, Asgard is fully prepared to welcome the Star Soul."
"Okay then. I'll give you permission to connect Asgard's Rainbow Bridge to the Silent City's Rainbow Bridge for transit transmission. The noise might be a bit loud, so you'd better evacuate the crowd as required." After hearing what Thor said, Luke did not delay any further, but mobilized the Silent City's machinery to operate.
With a slight humming sound, the mechanical ground beneath their feet collapsed into a large circle, then split apart from the middle to the left and right, revealing a huge cube brought out by the roar of the machinery below.
The cube was pitch black, yet it shimmered with a star-like light, flickering like breathing, bright and dim, magnificent and captivating.
"The Star Soul is in this space box. Just teleport it back to Asgard, open it with the [key], and then place it in the core node prepared by Asgard, and the move will be complete." Luke walked forward, looked up at the black box that was at least fifty meters high, and turned to say.
"I know the power of Asgard," Thor nodded. Besides its creator, Luke, only members of the royal family possessing Asgard's divine power could open this box. Asgard's divine power was the key Luke had set for this black box.
"As for evacuating the crowds, there's no need to worry about that. Before we arrived, the people of Asgard had already been transported via the Rainbow Bridge to other places in the Nine Realms for tourism."
"Let's go, do you want to go over and take a look together?" Luke opened the dome and asked Nick, who was standing beside him with a thoughtful look in his eyes.
"Is it troublesome?" Nick looked at Thor excitedly.
"That should be no problem. Just stay with Luke. I may not be able to take care of you." Thor nodded readily.
As Thor stood beside the black box, holding up his hammer high and shouting Heimdall's voice, a dazzling light fell from the sky, covering them and the black box, and then they disappeared together.
After regaining their feet on the ground from the state of weightlessness, they were pushed out of the transmission channel and arrived at the rainbow bridge hall, which was shining with brilliance and paved with highly condensed energy crystals.
The God King Odin, the God Queen Frigga, and Karnila, along with Heimdall, the guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, all turned their attention to the huge black box.
After greeting Luke, several people used their divine power to transmit into the black box at a certain frequency. Soon, there was a slight click, and the black box dissipated into the air like burning ashes, revealing the star soul inside, which was shaped into a large ball of light and expanded and contracted like a heart.
"Welcome to your new home." After Odin connected with the ignorant consciousness of the light ball, he immediately controlled his strength and lifted it up carefully, regardless of whether the other party, who was like a blank piece of paper, could understand it.
Odin, Frigga, Karnila, and Thor, each taking a side, soared high into the air before arriving in front of the Asgard palace. As Thor's hammer slammed down from the sky, the land of Asgard felt as if it had been struck by a powerful earthquake. Tiny cracks appeared in the ground, spreading in both directions. A rumbling tremor tore through the earth, creating a vast abyss.
Upon seeing this, the God King Odin and the other two immediately controlled the Star Soul and placed it in the deepest part of the abyss, which is also the center of Asgard. Then they helped Thor to close the cracked ground again.
The whole process is not complicated to say and looks very shocking, but the energy consumed and the preparations made in the middle are only understood by the participants.
As the ground began to close in with a rumbling sound, Thor's face flushed crimson. Only when the ground closed tightly together, with the bottomless crack no longer visible, did Thor fall to the ground, somewhat exhausted.
The cost and expense of tearing open the current Asgard and then healing it again would be enough to make Thor suffer. However, according to Luke's plan, just in front of the original palace of Asgard, an energy lake had long been transformed and organized, connected to the deep underground.
Everyone is waiting with bated breath for a certain moment to come.
Suddenly, Odin and others looked towards the direction of the lake in surprise.
Violent and powerful energy rose from the sky, transforming into a magnificent beam of light. The liquid condensed from the energy, accompanied by rain clouds, spread across Asgard.
From his perch on the flying boat, Nick watched the scene unfolding below in near shock. The thick ground seemed to become transparent, and lines of light, like blood vessels, stretched across the entire land of Asgard, with pillars of light as their main branches.
Rumbling noises echoed one after another, as if the depths of Asgard were operating like a machine, following certain rules. The entire process lasted for a full ten hours before becoming quiet.
Surprisingly, despite the massive commotion below, Asgard's buildings and ecosystems remained unscathed. A new, powerful force, slowly but surely, transformed into a presence like air, gradually encroached upon Asgard's space.
Looking at the vanishing pillar of light, then at the depleted energy lake, Karnila and the others were momentarily unsure of their success. After staring at each other for a moment, they turned their gaze towards Luke, who was aboard the flying boat in the sky.
But they didn't need to ask Luke, because the next moment, they heard the sound of flowing water, and an indescribable energy began to become active in the moist air after the rain.
The water level of the vast, dried-up lake was rising at a visible rate. A rich and powerful force grew more pronounced as the water level rose.
After the water level rose to a certain point, it subsided and stopped, but the new energy had already begun to nourish and infect everything in Asgard.
The powerful energy was clearly restrained by some kind of force, and began to flow steadily in all directions, like a core of energy, as planned. In just a moment, the arcane energy, so subtle that only those sensitive to energy could quickly detect it, became noticeable and easily perceived.
"This power?" Feeling a certain force seeping into her body, Karnila spread her hands in disbelief. Even just now, she had still harbored some doubts about the information Odin had shared. But the facts proved that this was truly a powerful energy with limitless potential.
Especially for mages, the existence of this energy is simply the biggest surprise!
Even in just a brief moment, Karnila had sensed what he could accomplish with this arcane energy. It was pure, without any hidden dangers, and possessed greater lethality and power.
"Don't get too caught up in it. There will be plenty of time to get familiar with it later. But now, we have to complete the last step and add layers of protective barriers to it. Asgard's previous barriers were all disrupted and ineffective just now, so we must complete the re-established barriers as soon as possible." The God King Odin interrupted Karnila's joy.
Seeing her dissatisfied look, Odin said softly, "Although arcane energy doesn't have any major side effects, its newly generated state is like a piece of sweet cheese, attracting many voyeurs. We must quickly reduce the occurrence of this dangerous situation."
Asgard's energy has attracted many invaders before, but this time after the epic enhancement of arcane energy, if no measures are taken, Asgard will probably face harassment and attacks from those lurkers every few days.
Various dimensional creatures from various dimensions, and even some powerful dimensional demons.
Odin wasn't afraid of war. His body could now accommodate and bear greater power, and he wouldn't be forced to enter Odin's slumber frequently due to increased strength. But not being afraid didn't mean he was willing to see uninvited guests constantly coming to his home to wreak havoc, or even take over his home.
He planned to revamp and reinforce the Asgard barrier, and the barrier model he used was the barrier technology Luke found in the Titan laboratory.
It has to be said that these barrier techniques are no worse than those of the Supreme Mage's lineage, and even have a clear advantage in certain aspects.
Although his and Asgard's wealth had shrunk significantly again, Odin still thought this business was worthwhile.
Knowledge, power, and the future.
One deal could achieve three goals. Odin was very satisfied.
The three magic-savvy individuals immediately began to utilize Asgard's newfound power to construct barriers. The primary purpose of these barriers was to block any external enemies and visitors, while also confining and concealing the fluctuations of arcane energy within Asgard.
Of course, this power would still need to pass through the World Tree's energy circulation system in the future. In the best case scenario, there was hope that the World Tree would grow and evolve again.
Although this would completely seal off Asgard, the modified barrier would allow for entry and exit via the Rainbow Bridge. The only thing left to do was activate the Rainbow Bridge more frequently.
"Are you planning to come to Asgard and buy a house to live there permanently? Here, nourished by arcane energy, your physical condition and lifespan will evolve for the better." Luke chuckled wickedly. "Perhaps you'll become the first dark-skinned elf? A brand new dark elf, different from Malekith and his companions?"
Nick's face instantly turned dark when he heard Luke's words. Of course, his skin color was dark to begin with, so he couldn't see that.
