Chapter 289 - Infinite Series: Next [Medium] Team Assemble

On a deserted island.

"Are you exaggerating?" A woman in military uniform put the tip of a sword against Hal's throat.

"I can guarantee that what I said is true. If you pay attention to the outside world, you should know what happened in Gotham. This is not a hoax or a joke." Hal raised his hand, not caring about the tip of the sword against his throat, and said seriously.

"So, you are planning to form a group and unite all the strong people who can help to deal with the so-called external crisis?" Seeing Hal's fearless expression, the woman gently swung the sword in her hand and put it back.

"Yes, this is our plan. I have heard some legends about you. It is not easy to find you. It took us a lot of time to search and investigate." Hal saw the sword being retracted, tilted his head slightly, and put down his raised hands.

"A powerful energy collision did occur in the direction of Gotham some time ago, and one of the energies was indeed evil. This is consistent with what you said. I came out this time to explore the source of that power." The woman said, "It seems that you are involved."

"No, we were witnesses." Hal was overcome with pain at the memory. Although Thanos hadn't killed him, and even, in some ways, had helped him resolve the Parallax monster's dangers and restored his freedom of thought, his deeds and the pain of his soul being torn in two made him unable to feel grateful to Thanos.

"I can join temporarily. If you truly demonstrate enough strength for me to trust," the woman said softly. "But if your team is immature or disorganized, then I will choose to go it alone."

"Of course, we don't force you to do that." Hal nodded.

"Then let's go. On the way, you can tell me who you have invited and who you are inviting." The woman looked up at the sky and a smile of knowingness appeared on her face.

"It's better to be careful." Hal saw the woman's gaze and realized that she had noticed Tian Tian's abnormality. He smiled awkwardly. At the same time, he used his ring to notify Tian Tian's backup partner.

A moment later, a green light fell from the sky like a comet, rapidly falling towards the island where Hal and the others were.

"It seems everything is going well." The green light dissipated, and a green lantern messenger appeared in front of Hal. After looking at the woman, his eyes swept over Hal.

"Yeah, everything went well. We can go back now." Hal shrugged.

"Please come up." The burly, muscular Green Lantern used the energy of the ring to create a local-style plane, motioning Hal and the woman to come up.

"Ms. Diana?" Hal gently called out the woman's name and signaled her with his eyes to enter the fuselage.

"Interesting energy plasticity." Diana exclaimed in admiration and stepped forward.

"Thank you for the compliment. This person, like me, is a Green Lantern. Do you know what a Green Lantern is? It's the green ring I wear on my hand. It has incredible power, capable of transforming an ordinary person into a superhuman. Speaking of Superman, he's on our team, and he's also the partner who faced Parallax and Thanos head-on."

Besides Superman, we also went to find a few others, one was the King of Atlantis, and another was a running boy. There were a few more, but I left in a hurry."

Hal's lingering voice dissipated into the air as the fuselage closed.

An island in the ocean at night.

There was not a single star in the sky, it was covered with dark clouds and rain was pouring down. The howling sea breeze stirred up huge waves, forming a high ocean wave.

"This is really a big production. Just this appearance is shocking. But is it necessary? Do you humans all like pomp and circumstance? Oh, sorry, you are not a human, but a Kryptonian survivor. Did I expose your scars? Sorry." A big man with a simple and honest face touched the back of his head and apologized awkwardly to Superman next to him.

"That's fine, but I hope you can keep your mouths to yourself during the upcoming negotiations, okay?" Superman Clark sighed. He had already realized his teammate's sharp tongue, but the key was that all his mistakes were unintentional. What could he do?

"Of course, Hal said we will listen to you in everything, so we will listen to you." The honest Green Lantern Messenger nodded vigorously.

"He's coming." Superman wanted to say something, but suddenly seemed to realize something and looked towards the wind and waves.

A wave tens of meters high crashed onto the surface. As he watched, a gap opened up in the sea, like a crack in the earth, parting the waves. A man, wielding a trident, was lifted upward from the depths by a surge of current. As the trident swung, the current obediently carried him across the surface, snaking an arc and landing on the island where Superman and his companions stood.

The waves hit the island and then retreated back into the sea with a loud noise.

"I've read the message you sent to Atlantis, and now it's time for me to give you my response." Aquaman Arthur Curry said softly, "I can choose to join, but I'll only be responsible for helping you fight Thanos."

"We formed this alliance only to deal with this disaster." Superman said.

"Let's go. I've already arranged the affairs of Atlantis. I can stay with you for a while." Aquaman looked at the two of them and said, "Do you need me to lend you some vehicles?"

"No, he can take you back to the base quickly." Superman pointed at the silent Green Lantern.

"That's cool, isn't it?" the boy named Barry Allen said excitedly to Batman.

"That's not cool, kid," Batman replied calmly.

"That's not what I meant. I meant it's great that I can help you." Barry was a little incoherent.

"You're a good boy, come on."

A bat fighter slowly descended vertically from the night sky, then opened its hatch on the ground. Batman strode towards the stairs leading to the hatch, then turned his head to look at Barry who was still standing there stupidly in front of the hatch, tilted his head, and motioned him to come up.

At Batman's signal, Barry scurried aboard the Batplane, his speed swift as a gust of wind. When Batman turned around, Barry was already sitting upright in the passenger seat, his hands restlessly stroking the seat as his eyes scanned the interior of the aircraft with interest.
