The howling wind in the sky was like a roaring transparent dragon. The wind and snow were lifted up and scattered in the sky, mixing with the cold air and turning into a biting cold knife.
The sky and the earth were vast and boundless, all white.
There is an eternal loneliness and desolation.
However, Dr. Stephen Strange had no time to savor and appreciate this rare desolate natural beauty. His expression was filled with absurdity after his three views collapsed, and he was shivering from the cold. His head moved back and forth in the snow, looking at a sparking circle two meters behind him.
On the other side of the circle is warmth, a home, people, and a world he is familiar with.
"This is fake, right?" Strange squatted down tremblingly, grabbing a handful of the thick snow piled under his feet. The biting coldness made him shiver all over, and his confused mind suddenly became clear.
"The boundary between truth and falsehood is inherently fragile in the face of magic. Let's go." Mordo, the receptionist, stepped in from the other side of the circle. He glanced at Luke, who seemed unperturbed by the environment and mental shock like Dr. Strange, before retracting his gaze to Dr. Stephen.
"Magic? Oh my God, I'm just accompanying someone to a medical seminar." Dr. Stephen originally wanted to say, "Magic, I don't believe that magic exists in this world", but the sparkling circle behind him was still maintained, and after crossing the circle, everything turned upside down. The whole environment changed drastically and was so real that he couldn't say this sentence.
"Stop complaining, Doctor Strange. You need to be mentally prepared to start a new life in a new world." Luke patted his shoulder and followed Master Mordo forward. He had already spotted the building looming in the snow.
"What do you mean? You want to keep me here? This goes against the contract we signed!"
"Damn it! You're wearing the same thin clothes as me, how can you resist the cold? I'm freezing to the bone right now. Every bit of flesh and blood and every cell is telling me I need warmth. In just a few minutes, I feel like I'm going to freeze to death here."
Stephen pulled his feet out of the snow with great difficulty. He felt the heat in his body dissipating along with the cold wind that blew continuously over him. With every layer of wind whistling past, a large amount of heat from his body would be lost. In just twenty or thirty seconds, his body already felt stiff.
However, the two people in front ignored him, which made Dr. Stephen sigh inwardly and take difficult steps to follow. If he didn't follow, there would soon be a poor unfortunate person frozen to death here.
He, Stephen Strange! A genius neurosurgeon, countless dignitaries and wealthy people counted on him to save their lives! He had money, connections, and prestige, and he had a long and bright future ahead of him. He didn't want to end his life unexpectedly in such a desolate place because of a consulting job.
Losing him will be a great loss to the medical community!
Suddenly, just as Stephen was folding his arms across his chest, trembling and stumbling as he followed the two people in front of him, a soft, jelly-like object, along with the oncoming strong wind, flew directly onto his face. When he subconsciously grabbed it and tried to pull it off, the jelly-like object quickly melted into his skin.
Soon, a sudden surge of warmth surged through his body, dispelling the chill from his body and warming his stiff frame as if he had drunk a cup of hot tea. Even more miraculous, the whistling cold wind around him seemed to no longer affect his body temperature. In the cold wind, he felt like he was walking in a park where it was spring all year round.
Well, except that the thick snow under my feet still caused serious physical exhaustion.
…
"Mage."
Mordo and the other two quickly entered a building and met the Supreme Mage in an empty hall. He was dressed in a yellow robe and looked young, yet his aura gave off a sense of maturity that only comes with the accumulation of time.
A jelly-like object seeped out from Stephen's chest skin. In Stephen's astonished eyes, it bounced into the air like a swallow flying into Luke's arms. It was caught by Luke's hand, turned into a glove in his palm, and then disappeared.
"It's a very strange life." Gu glanced at the little Hob that disappeared in Luke's palm and spoke softly, his hand fiddling with the teacup on the coffee table: "Want some tea?"
"Thank you." Luke took Stephen to sit opposite Ancient One.
"You didn't tell me you were a mage, too!" Stephen felt the warmth in his body fade away, and he felt a little reluctant. But after seeing what had just happened, he also knew that it was Luke who helped him. He lowered his voice and complained to Luke.
"I'm not really a mage. I can use some simple energy shaping tricks, though." Luke shook his head, correcting Stephen. While some of Luke's methods might seem like magic to outsiders, he knew his own business. He used technology and equipment to achieve these magical-like abilities, unlike those mages who could perform a vast array of unimaginable magic without the aid of equipment.
There is a clear difference between the two.
"There are some very strange energy fluctuations on your body. Can I take a look?" Ancient One placed two steaming teacups on the table next to the two of them and looked at Luke.
"Of course." Luke readily took out a rectangular metal box about ten centimeters in size from his pocket and opened it in front of Ancient One and Mordo, revealing a tube of transparent, crystal liquid inside that seemed to contain starlight.
"A very pure kind of magical energy." Gu Yi took it in his hand and felt it lightly, then gave his own evaluation.
"What I said may be a little offensive. I heard from somewhere that there is no so-called magical energy on Earth, and the reason why wizards can use magic is because they rely on the power of demons from other dimensions, right?" Luke picked up the teacup and took a sip, then spoke out.
Ancient One's expression remained calm, but the eyes of Master Mordo standing behind her suddenly became sharp.
"That's right. The source of power for our lineage of Supreme Sorcerers comes from Vishanti, which is also the source of white magic." Ancient One answered without hiding anything.
"There will be corresponding restrictions, right? For example, the source can cut off the energy supply here at any time." Luke mentioned a possibility, although Visandris would not do so under normal circumstances.
"You are very accurate." Ancient One remained calm. For someone of her strength, if she destroyed Vishanti, there was still Dormammu. If she destroyed Dormammu, there was still Eternity and other dimensional demons that she had exploited. Unless all the dimensional demons were dead or hid and could not be found by her, she did not need to worry about this.
But for other mages, this could be a fatal weakness. For example, the face of Mage Mordo was not looking good at the moment.
"Then are you willing to build a magical energy source for Earth's mages? Even if it's just for a rainy day." Luke pointed to the tube of concentrate in the hands of the Ancient One. "I can provide the technology, and the mages can participate in the entire process."
