Chapter 115 - Peter Caught Luke's Attention

Monetary subsidy?

Peter's eyes lit up instantly, and his stiff body felt like it was infused with a warm current of energy. His heart pounded in his chest. If Gwen hadn't been right beside him, he would have immediately asked how much the financial aid was. There was no other way. Ever since Uncle Ben left, the family's financial situation had plummeted. This was more than the first time Peter had seen Aunt May worry about money. After all, college was a huge expense.

As for the information about his parents, it made Peter even more excited.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. knows my parents' information?" Peter asked for confirmation.

"If you knew that Richard Parker and his wife had worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. for a while, you wouldn't ask that." Agent Hill smiled and shook Peter's outstretched hand.

"You people in Midgard are such a nuisance. Instead of sitting around discussing plans, why not start a war and finish the enemy?" Thor said, pacing back and forth on the ground with his hammer in hand, a bit irritated. "I've been through hundreds of battles, both large and small. I've been through at least eight thousand, if not ten thousand. Those behemoths, trolls, frost giants, and so on, each one of them is incredibly powerful and far more dangerous than the ninjas you're talking about."

Yet I always lead my soldiers to victory. In my opinion, there's no point in making so many plans in war; plans can't keep up with changes. Ultimately, it all comes down to who's better at fighting.

Thor's voice grew louder and louder, and finally, he concluded: "Why don't you let me go there alone? You give me the address and information, and I'll help you deal with those ninjas and stuff."

"I can't make the decision." Phil listened to Thor's mumbling for more than an hour with a smile on his face. This scene happened every day in the past two days.

"That won't do. I need to talk to your superior again." Thor has grown up after all. Before he was exiled, he would not care about any plans. He would have gone around the city looking for ninjas with a hammer to fight.

Phil followed Thor helplessly.

"What are you all doing here? Is the war finally about to begin?" Thor arrived at the scene and saw rows of elite agents with a murderous aura. Even with his shrewd nerves, he could detect a familiar scent in the atmosphere and air. It was the mobilization before the war.

"You've arrived just in time, Thor. We're about to launch a full-scale counterattack. Over the past few days, we've used various means to locate all of the Hand's strongholds in this city. The equipment aid from Heberon also arrived today, and it will give us the power to fight those ninjas. The quantity is small, but it's the maximum we can produce these days. We don't have much time for you to familiarize yourself with this equipment, so I've asked Snoke from Heberon to help you master it and use it as quickly as possible."

Nick saw Thor, nodded to him, and opened the metal boxes in front of him, revealing the neatly arranged metal wristbands, totaling about six hundred in number.

"Do I have it?" Peter, who had just received Steve's autograph, raised his hand high. His girlfriend was working and studying at Heybollen, and of course he had heard a lot of praise about Heybollen's technology from her. Although he preferred Stark's technical style, it did not prevent him from wanting to experience Heybollen's technology for himself.

"Of course." Nick frowned and glanced at Peter, but still nodded in response to the other's expectant gaze. "I don't know how much of a boost it will have on you, but you can give it a try. If you don't think the boost is significant, I suggest you give the spot to another agent."

Peter immediately walked out of the crowd and took out a metal wristband from the box. With Snooker's hands-on instruction, he quickly mastered how to put it on and use it. In fact, the use of these equipment was indeed simple and mindless.

"No!"

Peter felt a surge of power surge through his body, but before he could fully grasp it, it clashed with another force within him, or rather, engaged in a struggle within him. His expression changed, his Spider-Sense warning him frantically. As Nick and the others watched in amazement, the metal wristband unlocked and popped off from Peter's wrist, falling and disintegrating.

At the same time, as the metal wristband disintegrated, the unfamiliar power that surged through his wrists into his body, from a tit-for-tat confrontation a second ago, to a crushing defeat under the onslaught of Peter's own raw power. In just a few seconds, Peter's body, nearly the battlefield of the clash of two forces, returned to normal after the bloating and pain.

The dizzy Peter seemed to hear an angry roar.

"What happened?" Nick stared blankly at the wristband that had fallen from Peter's wrist, somewhat bewildered. This had never happened in previous tests. Could it be a flawed one that slipped through the net? Nick thought for a moment, then pointed to an agent who came out and put Peter's wristband back on.

"Sir, I don't feel anything. It's just an ordinary metal wristband." The agent wearing the wristband felt it for a while according to his superior's instructions, opened his eyes and shook his head.

"Try the next wristband." Nick signaled the agent to change his equipment.

"A surge of power surged through my body. I felt that my speed, strength, reaction, and all aspects of my physical fitness were increased to a terrifying level. My combat effectiveness has at least increased several times." This time, the agent wearing the new wristband gave the answer Nick wanted to hear.

"It's probably broken, right? This isn't my fault! It has nothing to do with me!" Peter took two steps back, his face slightly flustered. He'd learned from his girlfriend that Heberon's technology was superior, but he also knew that superiority came at a high price. He was broke now. If they asked him to compensate for the damage, he wouldn't be able to afford it even if he went bankrupt.

Peter's brain was brainstorming frantically, and he already regretted trying the wristband out of curiosity.

However, Nick didn't exploit Peter outright. He simply took out the ineffective wristband and signaled the front-line agents to come forward and familiarize themselves with their new equipment. He planned to completely wipe out the Hand's forces in the city tonight, and then slowly clean up the mess.

"Was a piece of equipment blocked so quickly? Is it because of Peter?" After hanging up Snooker's call, Luke blinked, a bit thoughtful. Could it be that some special people have a high-light physique that attracts the attention of the demon god? Shaking his head, he decided to wait for Snooker to bring back the broken metal wristband to study it before making any decisions.

If necessary, it is also time for Miss Stacy to bring her boyfriend Peter Parker to Hebron for a physical examination.

Well, if all else fails, An Jing can be used. Besides her current host, Gwen, An Jing, who has absolutely no moral principles, will do anything and sell out anyone as long as there's enough food.

PS1: I have a serious question for you fellow readers. If I combine two chapters into one and publish them in 4K format every day, will that lower my average subscription? Well, I'm just asking...
