Chapter 110 - Demon Jinchūriki [Part 2]

Biu!

Nick Fury's eyes lit up instantly.

"Blood Clan Set Meal?"

Nick's subtle yet direct question made Luke roll his eyes.

"No, no, no, it's different from the vampires! The vampires themselves have considerable value, but ninjas have some value, but not much." Luke corrected Nico. "The real value is the power they possess."

"So, the Hand has mastered the use of some kind of power? And where does this power come from? It can't possibly be generated from within their own bodies, right?" Nick nodded in understanding, but then asked another question that concerned him deeply. Nick and his agents had already suffered greatly from the power of the Hand's ninjas these days.

His agents, trained in the most scientific ways, equipped with the finest weapons and equipment, and possessed extensive combat experience, had suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of an underworld gang, being taught a lesson by their ninjas using cold weapons. This completely overturned Nick's understanding. Not even the vampires had ever given Nick such a headache.

"The source of power for those ninjas should come from some powerful creatures. You can also regard them as demons in your cognition. When you collected intelligence on the Hand, didn't you collect any information about this?" Luke looked at Nick in confusion.

"Is it just that they believe in a totem called a beast? Or something else? This is actually very common. In the underground world, if you randomly pick out ten similar organizations, at least five of them will have similar legends. For example, they believe in certain things and think that they will bring good luck or power to their organization." Nick narrowed his single eye. "Could it be that all of that is true?"

"The authenticity of other underground organizations may not be certain, but what the Hand believes in should indeed be a physical entity." Luke gave his own answer.

"Fuck! I always thought this kind of information was meaningless and unimportant." Nick's face turned grim, especially when he thought about the possibility of numerous other underground organizations like the Hand, worshipping a so-called demonic god, lurking in the shadows. He had always believed he'd done a good job; at least he'd fought off alien attacks before, and he'd always been responsible for maintaining the world's safety.

His greatest pride was the vast intelligence network he had built for S.H.I.E.L.D., which allowed him to control virtually all supernatural and extraterrestrial events. He had always been proud of this. But now it seemed that too many slipped through the net, due to a gap in understanding between him and S.H.I.E.L.D. intelligence personnel, and slipped out of his control.

This showed that the security he believed in had a huge loophole! This inference was no less shocking than the resurgence of Hydra.

This made him really uneasy!

"Don't even think about it. Existences of that level are not something you and your SHIELD can face right now. If one comes, your SHIELD might suffer more than half of their casualties. It's the duty of the mages to face them." Luke guessed what Nick was thinking and pointed it out bluntly.

"Mage." Nick felt powerless when the mage was mentioned. The current situation was caused by the search for the mage. However, he didn't find the mage, but instead found a big trouble.

"Yes, Mage. If you find the gathering place of mages now and can establish a relationship with them, then we might be able to obtain some of their intelligence information, or even magical knowledge, through trade or other means. And if I have that magical knowledge, I might be able to create better equipment that is more suitable for your agents." Luke pointed to the metal wristband worn on Nick's left arm.

"I think it's pretty good right now." Nick fondly stroked the metal wristband. He had to admit, Luke's skills always surprised him. Unfortunately, if the other party didn't have Hebron, he could invite him, or even force him to join S.H.I.E.L.D. But now, he could only imagine it in his mind. Even if Luke was willing to take a position at S.H.I.E.L.D. like Stark, he couldn't afford a part-time salary.

"Didn't you understand what I said before?" Luke looked at Nick in surprise, and that look made Nick feel as if he had said something very stupid. This look made Nick immediately recall everything he had just said to Luke in his mind.

"What do you mean?" Nick didn't realize that he had said anything wrong during the conversation. He frowned and looked at Luke and asked back.

"I said from the beginning that I extracted the power from those ninjas and used some technology to use it as an energy source in the equipment." Luke reminded.

"Is there a problem?" Nick thought about what Luke said and didn't find any problem.

"Where is the source of the energy? It's that so-called demon beast. My technology simply deceived them and obtained a certain amount of energy allocation." Luke saw the realization gradually appear on Nick's face. "But this method is ultimately a trick. To put it simply, the demon beast used itself as a model and divided many sub-bodies into disguised as a software for specific customers. As for the price these specific users paid, we will not worry about it for now.

Back to us. We cracked the software and its encryption key, allowing us to use its features. But you must understand that compared to those genuine customers who paid a price, we are black accounts! We are taking advantage of them! If they find anything wrong, these illegal black accounts can be banned at the source.

Furthermore, based on the intelligence I possess, combined with the information you've provided, it's clear that the Shuhe is searching for some special individuals. It's safe to assume that these special individuals might be able to carry even greater power from the demonic beasts, or even serve as a vehicle for their arrival. What is this? This is the VIP deluxe upgrade! It's bound to attract their attention. Who knows, at some point, they might want to check on this special client.

In other words, until a better method is found, the energy this equipment can extract has a limit. It cannot exceed a certain critical value, otherwise it may attract the attention of the demon beast. The longer it lasts, the greater the possibility of this happening.
