Chapter 102 - Attack, Trouble

A streak of flame streaked across the night sky, finally crashing onto the helipad atop the Hebron Building. Under the light, the parts of a gold and red steel battle suit spun, shifting from closed to open, revealing a man in a suit and tie with a disgruntled expression.

"Tonight is a sweet night for Pepper and me. You know we both have time and are in the mood. How rare is that? You ruined this rare good day!" Tony Stark straightened his clothes, stepped out from the open iron suit, looked at Nick Fury who was coming towards him, and spoke in a bad tone.

"I'm sorry, but I think you might be interested in something special." Although Nick apologized, his expression and tone were perfunctory and everyone could see and hear that he seemed a little worried.

"That's hard to say. I'm only interested in Pepper Potts today." Tony said with some dissatisfaction: "If you need my help, can't you go to my newly built Stark Tower? It's close to home and convenient. After I take care of your business, I can also go on a date I've been planning for a long time."

"Stop complaining, Tony." Nick said helplessly. He knew that Tony was here because he was interested in the mysterious substance he mentioned, and all his previous words were just a way to shift the blame.

"Where's little Luke? Why doesn't he come out to pick me up?" Tony stopped and looked around. He found that there were only Nick Fury and several of his agents. He curled his lips and asked.

"In the lab. Let's go. I'll tell you something I know on the way." Nick shook his head, motioning Tony to follow. Tony waved back, and the open Mark suit instantly closed again, and silence fell.

"So, this piece of bone contains some kind of strange energy. If this energy is properly channeled, it can significantly increase a person's lifespan and strength?" After Tony obtained the relevant information from Nick and read through Luke's experimental records, he looked at Luke strangely: "Why are you always playing with these things related to life and strength lately?"

"It's a perfect opportunity." Luke spread his hands. He'd already roughly guessed what the skeletal object was. Though he'd never actually seen it, judging from the analysis and testing done by the instruments, as well as the information Nick had shared, it was a close call. Luke hadn't expected that the special energy detector he'd built specifically to find the mage wouldn't find the mage, but would instead find this thing first.

I have to say that the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are still a bit lucky.

"What do you want me to do? Let me make it clear, I don't make weapons for anyone else." Tony immediately stated his position to Nick. Research is fine, but subsequent weapon production is out of the question! He only makes weapons for himself.

"I don't need you to make weapons for S.H.I.E.L.D." Nick shook his head. "I just need to know as soon as possible what exactly this thing is. How stable is the energy inside? Under what circumstances will the energy inside it be released and exploded? If it is released and exploded, how much damage will be caused, and how wide will the range be! You know, there may be an unknown amount of it buried underground.

If an accident happens, both Heybron and your newly built Stark Tower may be affected."

"That's indeed a threat." Tony shrugged and turned to Luke beside him and said, "Give me some White Queen access. Of course, it would be best if Jarvis could come in. But I don't think you'll agree to that."

"Will you let White Queen into your lab?" Luke rolled his eyes. He believed that if he dared to let Jarvis in, Tony would dare to leave a backdoor and tamper with it. While this might not be done with any real ill intentions, it was still unpleasant. However, he still had White Queen grant Tony temporary high-level permissions, allowing him to mobilize its computing power and some of the laboratory's equipment.

The three men bustled about in the lab, Luke and Tony occasionally exchanging words. Nick Fury, listening in, felt like a complete outsider. But he couldn't easily withdraw; he had to keep his eyes on the mysterious bone. Though he didn't understand the technology, he was a skilled observer, and he could tell Luke was deeply interested in the bone.

He thought he understood Luke somewhat. This guy's moral standards fluctuated, his boundaries sometimes missing, and it was hard to say whether he would find an excuse or create an accident to take advantage of this bone. This was S.H.I.E.L.D. property! There was more underground, so Nick didn't mind sharing some with Luke. After all, if Luke developed something useful, maybe he could gain some unexpected benefits from it, just like with the longevity potion.

But the premise of sharing is the exchange of resources, not accepting Luke's free ride.

After all, he coveted many of Heybollen's technologies, and Luke wouldn't easily release them until the profits from Heybollen's products were fully exploited. He had only sought Tony Stark's help to increase his leverage, giving him more options and an excuse to lower the price in the event of a future resource exchange with Luke.

But looking at the two people who were getting along quite well in the lab, Nick always felt like he had made a bad move.

But soon, Nick no longer had the mind to think about these things. His communicator rang. Under the dissatisfied gazes of Luke and Tony, Nick's expression changed several times in a short period of time, which was rare. When he finally hung up the phone, his face was full of gloom and he was filled with strong anger.

"I need to leave for a while to take care of some things, and I'll be back soon." Nick said to Luke and the others who were looking at him, and then without looking back, he took the agents guarding the door and left Heibolun in the helicopter that was parked on the helipad on the top floor of the Heibolun Building when he came.

"Guess what happened that made this old agent leave in such a hurry?" Tony glanced at Luke.

"White Queen." Luke ignored Tony and called out to the White Queen.

The next second, a series of tragic scenes appeared before Luke and the others.

It was a construction site in Manhattan, with bodies strewn across the ground. In the scene, as if time were flowing backwards, ghostly figures appeared and vanished across the site.

"It looks like Fury is in trouble." Tony sighed as he looked at the corpses.
