Chapter 92 - Ending, sigh

A mess.

The vampire faction wasn't completely wiped out overnight, but it was at least difficult to regroup. The large number of elite members that had gathered were then divided up like treasures by various factions. After all, living vampires weren't hard to find, but those who lived long enough and were strong were much rarer.

Not all old guys who have lived for hundreds of years like to show up in public every day.

In the words of an old bat still in Luke's lab, who among bats their age would not stay in their coffins to rest and sleep when they have nothing to do, but instead be active and playful? Even he only came out occasionally to exercise and do his old job.

"Shocking, such a huge sacrifice." Nick Fury gasped after seeing the casualty report after the battle. Almost half of the werewolf troops in the Brooklyn battlefield were killed or wounded! If it weren't for the werewolf potion's desensitizing effect and the werewolves' natural desire to hunt vampires after transformation, with such heavy casualties, the team would have collapsed long ago, becoming a defeated army.

However, under the influence of the werewolf pheromones obtained by the authorities from Heberon, the werewolf leaders who carried these werewolf pheromones controlled and influenced the werewolf soldiers around them, and withstood the desperate counterattacks of those elite vampires, exchanging huge casualties for "gratifying" results.

Of the nearly six thousand werewolf soldiers, only more than three thousand survived intact.

Nearly half of the four thousand vampires were also killed or wounded, and the rest were poisoned by the werewolf and could not move. They were tied tightly with silver handcuffs and chains, and a certain dose of wolfsbane potion was injected into their bodies at regular intervals.

The battlefield was littered with corpses, and the stench of blood was so thick that even the strong sea breeze could not blow it away.

Officials are still trying their best to clean up the battlefield and transfer the wounded and prisoners.

The other battles weren't as intense as the Brooklyn battle, but there were casualties on both sides. Some had strong enough security to clear out the attacking vampires and even harvest some resources. Others were unlucky enough to have their defenses breached, becoming hostages and negotiating tools in the vampires' hands.

Tonight is a messy night anyway.

Many people will probably have a deep memory of this night and will never forget it in their later lives.

"The alert in Washington has been lifted. They have captured more than a hundred living vampires." Luke also told the latest news he had received.

"The vampires are finished." Nick concluded almost immediately.

He gave Luke a complicated look. He had considered clearing out these dark creatures, but every time he reached a certain stage, he encountered immense resistance. Nick knew exactly why! It was because many important figures and high-ranking officials were leaving themselves a way out! They were happy to see Nick occasionally give those vampires a beating, instilling fear and respect.

But they didn't want to see Nick completely wipe out the vampires and cause them to suffer heavy losses. Because no one knew if they would become a member of the other race in order to survive at some point in the future! Of course, they certainly wouldn't truly classify themselves as vampires in the early stages of their transformation, but ethnic identity was something that was instilled subtly.

In the end, more or less, you will unconsciously have a tendency.

Why were the moderate vampires able to maintain their vitality during this turmoil? Besides their small size and the fact that the authorities had sufficient resources to prevent them from taking action, it was also because some of their former converts had spoken on their behalf. The moderate vampires were natural allies with these people.

However, Nick did not trust the so-called moderates.

Those who are not of my race must have different hearts.

Nick couldn't even fully trust a human being, let alone a dark creature that wasn't human. In Nick's view, the so-called moderates were just another form of corruption and manipulation of the human elite. They transformed those unwilling to die into vampires. Over time, those unwilling to transform would naturally die, but those willing to transform would, if nothing unexpected happened, increase in number, and the faction would grow larger.

In fact, Nick believed that over the past few decades, the vampires' erosion of power in this country had reached a relatively dangerous level. It was just that they had been keeping a very good disguise. Therefore, in Nick's mind, compared to the violent faction, these moderates, while seemingly harmless, were actually more dangerous. At least Nick would rather confront the violent faction with force than be restrained by the moderates.

What he didn't expect was that Luke did what he had always wanted to do but hadn't.

Longevity potion.

This was a project that garnered considerable attention and favor, simply based on the concept and technical theory. Even more so, Luke had actually achieved results and released a product. While the human trials of the longevity potion were strictly confidential, Nick had no hope of truly keeping it a secret, nor did he truly desire complete secrecy.

Those influential figures, apprehensive about the brevity of life and the aging of their bodies, were practically ecstatic! If there were more options, who would want to become a dark creature with so many weaknesses, afraid to even see the sun? Unfortunately, Luke's research was too rapid. By the time they learned of this, the other party had already developed the technology and produced a finished product. This left them with no chance to even intervene at the initial stage.

Having said that, if it is just a concept and theory, everyone will only give limited support and remain on the sidelines.

But there is technology, results, and data support from human experimenters.

Simply put, when there is a physical object, everyone knows what to do.

They worked hard to gather and control the raw materials, then bargained with the technology-rich parties. Of course, as the demander, they were inevitably at a disadvantage in the negotiations, but that didn't matter. They were grateful to Luke because he had helped them find a way forward! A path they had taken before, but had failed and thought was hopeless!

Once a technology emerges, it cannot be kept secret forever, and copies cannot be made. They don't care how much money Luke makes in the early stages, or how much he can gain from them. They are looking at the longer-term future.

Will the blood clan be destroyed?

That's not the main issue now!

Nick wondered, if those vampires knew that their own group's status had been artificially downgraded because of an attack, would they still attack Luke? Perhaps this would teach other dark creatures a lesson, so they wouldn't offend scientists, especially those with both talent and capital, like Luke and Tony Stark.
