Chapter 81 - Premature Baby: Little Habu

At first, there was only Anjing in the Symbiote Laboratory.

But after Luke cut a part of her, obtained the symbiote from her mouth that could reproduce asexually, and forced her to split to give birth to a new individual like a blank sheet of paper, the laboratory had two more long-term residents.

A clone.

A newborn.

But compared to the main body, An Jing, these two seemed like sickly children and premature babies. An Jing never considered them her own offspring, or even her companions. Her feelings for the two little symbiotes were very weak.

It was a truly tiny symbiote, only the size of a palm, and its overall area was even less than a quarter of Anjing's. Even its consciousness was fuzzy, like a little idiot.

Oh, maybe a little bit of a retardation is a bit of an exaggeration, but to say his IQ is like that of a four or five-year-old child is still reliable.

The clones might be there for many reasons, but the newborns were also like this, which made Luke suspect that An Jing was just being perfunctory. After all, Luke really didn't know how much time, nutrition, and conditions were needed for a healthy symbiote to grow from conception to birth.

As for what An Jing said, Luke spread his hands.

But this doesn't mean that these two seemingly weak symbiotes are useless. At least Luke felt that his early transformation was relatively successful.

Walking into the room of the symbiote laboratory, Luke first went to look at his two little cuties. One was golden all over, like a ball of flowing magma, with temperature but not hot; the other was ice blue all over, like a flowing cold current, emitting chill but not icy enough to prick the hands.

It was golden like magma, and Luke called it Habu.

Icy blue like a cold current, Luke called it Mistel.

Yes, Luke gave these two weaklings attributes. Although these attributes seem fancy and powerless given their current weakness, their growth potential is extremely high! Their potential ceiling may be higher than that of all other symbiotes, including Quiet.

But it takes a lot of resources and effort to cultivate it in the early stages.

This was not a problem for Luke. He didn't have to worry about having too many lice anyway. He himself was a bottomless pit, so he didn't mind his creations consuming some resources.

Luke arrived at Habu's "little room"—a small, square glass box, 50 centimeters high and 50 centimeters long. Habu lay on a hot red metal plate inside the glass box, diligently absorbing the heat it needed. The temperature of the metal plate needed to be adjusted constantly. Although Luke believed in the little creature's potential, it was still a premature baby and could easily become weak. Excessive energy wouldn't be good for it.

Sensing Luke's approach, Habu, lying on the metal plate, squirmed a bit. Two tentacles emerged from the golden liquid, the tips of which trembled twice in the air, pointing in Luke's direction. Then, like a slime, it crawled forward on the metal plate, approaching Luke.

Luke opened the skylight in the glass box and reached his hand in slightly. Habu below instantly became excited, his front and sides puffing up like a child puffing out its cheeks when it inhales, with a kind of infantile cuteness. Then, with a whoosh, his entire body bounced high up from the metal plate, and Luke grabbed it with a snap like a ball of jelly.

Habu's body darted back and forth a few times within Luke's palm, unable to escape. The entire ball froze for a moment, then quieted down, slowly melting into Luke's skin. When Luke withdrew his hand from above the glass box, his right hand, thrust in, seemed to be wearing a golden glove.

"Oh, good boy!" Luke whispered in his mind, sensing the presence of a tiny, weak consciousness. After patiently coaxing Habu, Luke signaled Snoke to open the jar of venom and stepped back.

"Boss, let me take over." Snoke was a little worried. He had witnessed the power of a symbiote rebellion before. A single symbiote, with a suitable host, had nearly wiped out three fully armed elite teams. If it weren't for the knowledge of the symbiote's weaknesses and the preparations, the fierce battle in the Life Foundation would not have subsided so quickly.

"No, I got some information about Venom and other symbiotes from Quiet before. She said that compared to Riot, Venom is like a teenage boy, reckless and impulsive, and looks very stupid. It is not easy to make Venom obedient. I plan to teach him some rules first, so that I can be more relaxed later." Luke shook his head.

Venom is different from Quiet. Quiet has his own host, is relatively calm, and can communicate. But getting Venom to communicate properly isn't easy. Luke, on the other hand, doesn't intend for Venom to live in symbiosis with him; he simply wants Venom to cooperate with him in his research. Quiet's advice is: to deal with a naughty child, give him a beating first, then a candy, and he'll behave. If there's no candy, then give him a few more beatings.

Seeing that Luke was ready, Snoke put the container that once belonged to Quiet back to its original place in the room - on a stand.

The top of the glass jar slowly unscrewed, and Snooker took the initiative to move away without Luke's reminder. A layer of rising tempered glass wall blocked him outside.

Black liquid flowed out from the unscrewed glass jar little by little. The whole thing looked like a large liquid black spider. The moment Luke's eyes fell on it, Venom's entire body suddenly bounced towards Luke at an extremely fast speed.

boom!

The intense flames instantly formed a flame barrier in front of Luke. Venom slammed into the flames, and its tentacles shrank back under the high temperature. The flames circled on the ground, trapping Venom inside.

Half of Luke's body was engulfed in flames, yet the flames didn't harm him at all; not even a hair on his head was singed or dried. This was Habu's natural ability: it could absorb and control fire, especially high temperatures! Currently, it could only precisely control temperatures of 5,000 degrees, and Luke hadn't injected it with any of his messy memetic abilities. Still, it could be used to intimidate most symbiotes.

In a sense, Little Habu is the natural nemesis that most symbiotes avoid.

The circle of flames continued to shrink. After Venom dodged left and right several times without success under the encirclement of the flames, it simply stopped where it was. The liquid in its entire body began to change, and it showed its submission in front of Luke.

"You win! I'll be obedient!"
