Chapter 48 - News, Roxxon Oil

In a sparsely populated, remote tavern, beside the dimly lit indoor bar, a decadent old man in military uniform was sipping glass after glass of wine, the smell of alcohol and cigarette smoke wafting violently around him. The waitress who handed him a glass of wine frowned and moved away.

The door of the tavern was opened, and the bright light outside turned the open door into a light gate. A well-dressed man with highly recognizable facial features walked in from the light gate.

"Cigarettes, alcohol, and the smell of failure." Tony Stark walked up to General Thaddeus Ross. "Another failure, but this time the price paid was too high, wasn't it?"

"Don't be silent, are you? I remember telling you not to be obsessed with the super soldier program. It was terminated for a reason. There is someone who agrees with me that machines are more reliable." Tony Stark looked at the silent General Ross and raised his eyes to glance at the news report playing next to the bar.

It was a scene of a hideous monster wreaking havoc.

It is also the source of General Ross's current misfortune.

He had ultimately cultivated an abomination. That exceptional soldier, Emil Bronsky, possessed an unyielding will, exceptional military skills, exceptional skill, and rich combat experience. Yet, he was succumbing to the side effects of the Super Soldier Potion. The potion amplified his inner desire for battle. He had bred an uncontrollable, destructive, and immensely powerful war demon!

Strictly speaking, this is much more serious than Hulk hiding from the crowd.

Ironically, he can still sit here drinking alone in his military uniform, all thanks to the help of Hulk, the person he longs to capture.

It was Hulk who helped stop the destructive and violent behavior of the degenerate Bronsky!

"Stark." General Ross blew out a smoke ring, turned around, and stared at him with cloudy eyes.

"I'm listening, General." Tony spread his hands and motioned for the old man to continue.

"Why don't you make money with that little guy from Hebolen and come to me?" General Ross smiled sarcastically.

"Someone asked me to come here." Tony shrugged and betrayed a man named Nick Fury without hesitation: "We want to set up an organization and are recruiting people everywhere. He has taken a fancy to your soldiers."

"My soldiers?" General Ross laughed.

"I don't think this is a good idea. Because it looks like this big guy is not easy to deal with at all." Tony looked at the monster on the TV screen with disgust.

"A familiar smell. That spy chief is still as unscrupulous as ever." Ross curled his lips in disdain. "If I were you, I'd stay away from him. His style of doing things is ten or even a hundred times worse than mine."

"I never trusted him, this was just a collaboration." Tony frowned.

"No matter what, you're the first person to come see me at this moment. Just think of it as you coming to see me." General Ross supported himself on the bar and stood up, his body a little shaky. "So, let me give you a piece of information. Not everyone is happy to see you getting rich with that little guy named Luke. Especially when it comes to something as sensitive as energy."

"Someone wants to deal with us?" Tony asked knowingly.

"I didn't say anything." General Ross waved his hand.

"Are you sure you know who it is?" Tony walked to General Ross, supported him with one hand, and helped him stand firmly.

"Stark, don't be too greedy." General Ross pushed Tony's support away. "You should solve your own problems first. I hope you can get out of this hearing unscathed. Don't become a loser like me."

Washington.

Hearing venue.

Reporters from all over the world have surrounded the venue with their cameras and cannons.

"Here it comes!"

The reporters around them became more energetic after receiving the news passed on to them by their colleagues.

A business car and a red sports car parked one after the other in the open space in front of the venue. Tony Stark and Luke, both dressed in formal attire, emerged from the cars, each accompanied by their own bodyguards and female companions. While the bodyguards and security guards kept the reporters at bay outside the cordon, Tony approached Luke with a playful smile.

"How do you feel about your first hearing? Are you nervous?" Tony Stark asked jokingly, and Luke rolled his eyes.

"Hahaha, don't be nervous, just treat them as wooden people who say stupid things." Tony put his arm around Luke's shoulder intimately and shared his experience with him.

"You are the master of this hearing. Why should I be nervous?" Luke shook off Tony's arm on his shoulder and quickly took Ina up the stairs.

"Wait for me! I find what you told me earlier very interesting, and I agree with it." Tony, who had been thrown off, put on sunglasses and quickly caught up with him. After catching up, he said in a hurried tone: "Space program? That's very grand and fits our positioning. I can even use what you said to me to retort those people today. If you are someone who needs investment, then your speech is enough to impress me, and I will definitely invest in you. I don't invest in others easily, you know this is rare!"

"Thank you very much," Luke said perfunctorily. He obviously had no good way to deal with Tony, who clung to him like a piece of candy. Although he was still as arrogant as ever, he was not sharp-tongued in front of him, except for his nagging that made people a little irritated.

"One more question. Have you found out who's been secretly targeting us and constantly causing trouble for our energy plan?" Tony said, suddenly reaching out to stop Luke from answering. He said quickly, "Don't tell me yet. I'll count to one, two, three, and we'll tell you all. Let's see who has the most accurate answer."

Luke couldn't help but roll his eyes again in his heart at Tony, whose desire to win had reached such a level.

"One, two, three, Roxxon Oil."

"Roxxon Oil."

"That's the only one." Tony wasn't surprised that Luke's answer matched his. He sighed, "When my father was still alive, Stark and Roxxon Oil had many collaborations."

Luke gave Tony a meaningful look.

Roxxon Oil Corporation is a massive corporation with untold reach! While its primary business may appear to be the extraction and sale of oil and other energy resources, it actually also encompasses materials, munitions, various high-tech weaponry, and technologies such as cyborgs, cyborgs, and super soldiers.

They do whatever industry makes money, and their presence can be seen in every field.

A deeply hidden and tricky opponent.
