Chapter 5 - Clone

Just then Roland, atop a chair, was handed a knife as the Roland on the floor disappeared.

"O. K. what in the triple Mcfuck just happened? I wanted someone for knife, and someone spawned for knife. Mhm, makes sense."

"Maybe I'm sleeping?" Roland asked while pinching his cheek.

"No, that's not the case. The second blessing I have? Perchance? I mean, that's the only explanation. Lemme try again."

So let's say I want to also drink some water, and I wish to spawn someone to get me that glass of water.

And nothing happened.

Maybe it's voice activated?

"I want that water, I wonder if anyone could get that for me."

No luck. The room still only contained one Roland.

So, what could've been the trigger initially? If not thinking or speaking. Maybe I should ask Camilla? Or maybe one of my siblings. No, no way my siblings are willing to show me their power. So—I have to call Camilla.

Climbing down the chair, Roland waddled out and asked the guard outside to fetch Camilla for him. Around ten minutes later Camilla appeared through the doorway and looked at the Roland sitting atop a tall chair reading.

"Yes, Young Master? I was told you needed me. How can I be of help?"

"Yes, Camilla, I need help. How would I be able to use my blessing?"

"Well, blessings are quite simple. The main thing that activates them, though, is desire. Slowly, as you get more proficient, you will need less, and at some point it becomes the same as breathing. For people like me, who need mana, if we get more proficient, we also have to use less mana."

"Desire, huh… Camilla, a question for you. If you were to see my blessing, would you tell someone else?"

It's a bit dangerous to tell anyone, since people can then have a perfect counter to me. But I think it'll be ok if it's Camilla.

"No, Young Master, never. If I ever do, please feel free to chop my head off."

"Right. I'm sure I can trust you. Do I need to say what I want out loud?"

"No. The main thing you would need to do is concentrate on what it is you wish to complete."

Right, I wish to spawn that clone of mine.

Come on, spawn, come onnn. It's been five minutes already.

"Ugh, I'm so tired. Can't it spawn already? Maybe get me some water too," Roland said, wiped from all the mental exhaustion.

Just then there were two Rolands in the room.

Camilla gasped. "Young Master, what is that?"

"YAY I DID IT!" screamed Roland with joy. "Camilla, that's my blessing. It's to create a clone of myself."

"Young Master, this is truly amazing."

"Camilla, how do you think I should train this?"

"Well, I would offer that you attempt to make one or two clones each day. But do try not to overdo it, Young Master."

"I see. Thank you, Camilla. You are dismissed," said Roland, his smile wider than ever.

As soon as the door creaked shut and Camilla had exited, a certain voice echoed throughout the room.

"Hey, can you stop making me stand here and take this damn water, real me," said the clone holding the water which Roland had requested.

Just then there was a scream—a very high-pitched scream, one which would put a little girl to shame. "AAAAAAAA, YOU CAN TALK?"

"Yeah? Obviously, I'm your clone. I have the same knowledge as you, same memories, all that. Also, please take this water, I wanna despawn already."

"So much attitude, what are you, a baby?" said the real one.

"Yeah dude, I'm literally two years old."

"Well, thanks for the water, see ya later."

Just like that, the clone disappeared as if nothing had existed.

Huh, what's this? Why do I feel so drained? Huh, my vision's all black.

Thud

Roland was rolling on the ground.

After an hour Roland woke up, the floor wet under his mouth from drooling, covered in sweat.

The hell kinda power nap is this? What time is it? I feel like I'm in a different dimension. Also, why am I napping on the floor? The bed's right there...

Oh yeah, I passed out, but why? Does the blessing take some sort of power from me? No, royal blessings are not supposed to require anything. Well, whatever, I'm sure I'll understand eventually. Now, where did I leave off reading?

'For greater ease, an instructor may draw mana from your palm, helping you sense the flow more clearly.'

Right, that's it.

'But please take caution, as this method will lead to quick mana depletion which will make you pass out.'

I guess that makes sense… So wait, I passed out due to mana depletion? From my blessing? But it's a roya… you're kidding me. It isn't a royal one, is it? According to what the God I spoke to said, I had a blessing from someone he doesn't know. So not the same God which contracted with the first King of Kentaria.

This makes complete sense. But I'm not very happy about it. I wanted to have unlimited clones or something. Well, I guess that's still manageable if I train hard enough, get proficient in creating them, and most importantly have a lot of mana reserves. Ugh, that's so much work, can't someone else learn it for me?

Pop

Then there was another.

"So, this time you need me to learn for you. Got it. Such a lazy person, but I won't last long. You have no mana reserves. I suggest you just despawn me."

"I spawned you? Yeah, please do despawn. But I'm not sure how." Said Roland

"Just command me to."

"Dissapear"

Just like that, the clone disappeared, while Roland barely remained conscious.

"OK, with the little mana reserves I have left from spawning him, I shall use them to begin my training."

Let's just hope that I have enough mana for this.

Just then he placed his left hand on the table, grabbed the knife with his right, and brought it down with all of his might.
