Five minutes later, Yao Liang said in an excited whisper, "Alright, it's done. Xiao Bin, press Enter."
I immediately hit the Enter key on the computer. The screen displayed "Data Connected," which quickly changed to "Data Downloading..."
"So? Did it connect?" Yao Liang asked.
"It's downloading now, it should be fine," I said.
"Good, I'm still not at ease. I'll leave after it's finished. Damn, there are so many security guards around. That bastard Jiang Weixin is watching this place like a fucking hawk," Yao Liang cursed under his breath.
I didn't reply, just staring at the computer screen. The download was already at 80%. I remembered I needed to be the first to copy the data, so I took my own USB drive from my bag, plugged it into the computer, and prepared to intercept the data as soon as it finished.
Unexpectedly, the moment I plugged in the USB drive, the download immediately stopped, and a message appeared: "USB device detected. Security level lowered. Download unavailable."
"Damn it! What the hell!" I cursed.
"What's wrong?" Yao Liang asked in a low voice from his end.
It seemed Yao Liang was also guarding against me, probably afraid I would copy the data, so he had put restrictions on the system. But I couldn't let him know my plan, so I lied, "It says the data download has stopped. I don't know what's wrong."
"That can't be right. Everything looks normal on my end," Yao Liang said hurriedly.
I quickly pulled out the USB drive, thinking the download would resume. To my surprise, the screen flashed a few blue screens, and then the entire computer system crashed.
"Shit!" I yelled. "Yao Liang! Your computer seems to have crashed! The system just blew up! What happened!"
I had a sneaking suspicion that I had been too impatient and had caused the crash by plugging in the USB drive before the download was complete, but I could only curse to save face.
"What! Fuck! You're not kidding, are you!" Yao Liang exploded on his end.
"What do we do? Your computer won't start now. Can we still do this?" I was sweating profusely.
After a moment, Yao Liang said, "Here's what you have to do. Go to my bedroom. Inside my nightstand, I have another computer. Bring it here and turn it on. The password is mmgg123."
I rushed to get it. It was an Apple iMac. I turned it on, entered the password, and logged in.
Yao Liang then had me open a few software programs and guided me through some operations in a low voice before remotely connecting to the computer. Soon, the same software from before was running again.
"This time there shouldn't be any problems!" Yao Liang cursed under his breath.
I watched the download progress on the screen reach 100%, and only then did I breathe a sigh of relief. I said to him, "It's done! It shows the data download is complete."
"Good." As soon as Yao Liang finished speaking, I heard a man's voice over the voice chat: "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
Had Yao Liang been delayed for too long and been discovered?
Then I heard the sound of Yao Liang and the man making small talk. The man seemed to be a security guard. At first, their conversation was normal, but soon the guard seemed to not believe Yao Liang's story.
"Come with us to the security office," the guard said.
My heart sank. If we were caught red-handed, this was commercial espionage, a serious crime that meant jail time!
Yao Liang, of course, knew this too. I immediately heard the sound of a fierce struggle, followed by the guard shouting, "Don't let him get away! Stop him, he's a thief!"
The voice chat was then filled with chaotic noises. I could vaguely hear Yao Liang's pained screams, but soon, all sound was lost.
Had something happened to him? I broke out in a cold sweat for him, my heart pounding with anxiety.
But no matter how nervous I was, it was useless. I found where the stolen data was located, first closed Yao Liang's software, then took out my USB drive and copied all the data.
Although there were some hiccups, it went relatively smoothly. Now, Jiang Weixin's fatal weakness was in my hands. This was a huge help to Mom! She would definitely see me in a new light!
I remembered that in just a few more days, it would be the day of the three-month "test" Mom and I had agreed on. This time, I was full of confidence.

I took the elevator directly to my mother's office floor. Mom's secretary was Li Yunmei, a tall, beautiful woman in her thirties. We were already quite familiar. Seeing me come to see Mom during a workday, she said with a smile, "Young Master Xiao Bin, what brings you to see Chairman Gu during the day on a weekday? Is something the matter?"

Near the door, a large leather sofa was placed against the wall. Mom was sitting gracefully on the sofa with her legs crossed. Her straight hair was tied in a bun at the back of her head. She wore a white lace-trimmed chiffon long-sleeved blouse on top and a tight, sky-blue hip-hugging short skirt on the bottom. Her long, beautiful legs, sheathed in flesh-colored stockings, were exposed. The stockings clung to her full, shapely legs like a second skin, reflecting a delicate, smooth sheen under the light. On her beautiful feet were a pair of milky-white high heels.
A man was also sitting on the sofa next to Mom. I took a closer look and saw that it was Liu Kai, the heavily tattooed, fat gangster!
The two of them were sitting side by side on the sofa, seemingly chatting. From my angle, I couldn't see very clearly.
What was he doing here? Countless questions popped into my head.
The moment they saw me push the door open, they both stood up. Mom crossed her arms and chided in a coquettish voice, "Xiao Bin? You just walked in like that? Can't you see Mom is in a meeting? Don't you have any manners!?"

"Alright," Mom replied. She twisted her sexy body and escorted him to the door.
As Liu Kai walked past, he stared at Mom's incredibly alluring figure, taking a careful look twice, and swallowed. As he was leaving, he turned and nodded to me, giving me a malicious "heh heh" chuckle as a greeting before leaving.
As soon as he was gone, I immediately said with displeasure, "Mom, I have urgent and extremely important news to report to you. That's why I barged in. What was Liu Kai doing here?"
Mom adjusted her hair seductively. Her sexy body swayed as she walked back to her seat, her two full, flesh-colored-stockinged legs and her twisting, big butt swinging. She looked up, her beautiful eyes fixed on me, and said coquettishly, "What's so important! You come to Mom's company in the middle of the day. Of course, Mom has business to attend to. If you're making trouble, watch out or I'll spank your bottom!"
