Chapter 26 - One Piece: Legend Begins-Chapter 26: Aus to the Rescue

Thud...

Thud...

Crisp footsteps echoed through the air. Starting from the crowd's outer edges, thugs began dropping like flies—mouths hanging open, eyes rolled back, hitting the ground hard.

Like wind through wheat, they collapsed in waves, section by section.

Inside the District's Central Building

Sensing this soul-crushing, terrifying presence, Lady Sami led her subordinates and girls out of their rooms, rushing to the balcony.

Their faces lit up with pure joy.

"Who's there! Show yourself!!"

Diamante—one of the Donquixote Family officers and Flag-Flag Fruit user—roared in fury.

The other officers frantically searched for the source of those footsteps.

"What the hell is this?! This aura??"

As the strongest person present and a Conqueror's Haki user himself, Doflamingo could feel it most directly—just how fucking terrifying this presence was.

Veins bulged across his forehead. Cold sweat poured down like a waterfall.

Black-red lightning crackled through the sky, those footsteps seeming to stomp directly on everyone's hearts. Raw fear and panic flooded their minds.

But the truly horrifying part? Despite hearing the footsteps crystal clear, nobody could pinpoint where they came from.

Not until those steps grew closer did everyone finally spot the figure approaching from the distance.

Above a field of unconscious minions, a tall man in military uniform walked forward with casual confidence.

His outfit was pure black, sword and gun marking him instantly recognizable.

That lean figure wreathed in black-red lightning approached step by measured step, pace calm and elegant.

Yet with every blink, he closed distance at terrifying speed—like some demon gliding out of hell.

Seeing this figure, Sami's body—tensed to the breaking point—finally relaxed.

That sudden release nearly dropped her. Only her subordinates' quick support saved her from face-planting.

"My my, Lady's so excited seeing Lord Aus arrive that her legs gave out."

Eri—her trusted right hand for over ten years—couldn't resist the tease, making Sami's cheeks flush.

"You never quit."

But Sami wasn't the only one losing her shit.

"Kyaa~ Lord Aus is here!!!"

"So fucking hot! I want your babies, Lord Aus!!!"

The previously dead-silent red light district exploded like the riot never happened. Countless women who'd been hiding poked their heads out of windows everywhere.

They screamed and cheered like maniacs, venting every ounce of fear and frustration through their welcome for Lord Aus.

Meanwhile, the Donquixote Family looked like they'd swallowed poison.

Goddamn it, where the hell did this monster come from?

They'd been digging into Sami's background for years. Never heard a whisper about anyone like this.

Under the red light district's cheers and every Donquixote member's stare, Aus strolled deep into the crowd without meeting the slightest resistance.

Because wherever Aus walked, only the sound of bodies hitting pavement followed. Even elites and officers—no exceptions.

By the time Aus reached Doflamingo, he stood alone. The entire massive Donquixote Family reduced to one man.

The power gap couldn't be clearer!

Doflamingo's arrogance and bluster evaporated completely. Silver teeth clenched tight, veins pulsing across his face.

His pupils trembled behind those sunglasses, staring in disbelief at the smiling man before him.

How could someone like this possibly show up in Paradise?!?

Flowing black hair, that unmistakable black military uniform, sword and gun combo.

Above a deceptively gentle, handsome face sat eyes that looked down on everything.

Roger Pirates crew member.

Bounty: 1.09 billion berries.

"Black Gun" Doctor Aus?!?

What kind of sick joke was this?!!

Aus's lips curved upward. His face smiled, but his eyes held zero warmth.

Using his 2.6-meter height advantage, he looked down at the still-young Doflamingo.

"Didn't catch my question the first time?"

He leaned down slightly, crimson light blazing from his pupils as he stared at those shaking eyes behind the shades.

"Who are you gonna kill?"

That calm yet crushing dominance, combined with the terrifying aura smothering the entire scene, left everyone's hearts hammering for ages.

In this moment of crisis, watching their half-boss make this high-profile, supremely badass entrance, the male employees from taverns and casinos got so hyped their scalps tingled.

The red light district girls? Several nearly passed out, their fragile hearts flooded with overwhelming security.

"Kyaa!!! Did you see?! No. 7, Master's here!"

"Mm-hmm, I knew Lord Aus would come for sure. So handsome..."

Beside Sami, even though Aus wasn't looking their way, the two little maids waved excitedly.

As Aus's personal maids, No. 6 and No. 7 had been completely conquered by his strength and looks. Their hearts belonged to Aus, period.

When the riot started, they'd never doubted for a second that Lord Aus would show up and crush these bastards.

Hell, when the Den Den Mushi wouldn't connect the first two times, if Sami hadn't quickly shut down anyone questioning Aus, these two would've grabbed guns and gone to war with the doubters.

Being threatened in front of this many witnesses, Doflamingo couldn't save face anymore.

He was a Conqueror's Haki user, damn it—not some mute. Fighting the urge to wipe his forehead, he ground his teeth and spoke:

"Black Gun! Why the hell would someone like you show up here?!"

"Even as a Roger Pirates crew member, isn't this overstepping? Don't forget... Roger just got arrested by the Marines, yet you dare appear so brazenly under the World Government's nose!"

"Let me remind you—I carry the Donquixote name!!!"

Hearing this, Aus's smile widened. His eyes stayed ice-cold.

"So, Doflamingo... your confidence comes from that World Government you mentioned?"

"Or do you actually think those pigs would go to war with me over your corpse? You believe that bullshit yourself?"

Aus stared straight through him, cutting to the bone:

"You're nothing but garbage kicked out of Mary Geoise!"

"SHUT UP!!!"

Aus's words shattered his defenses completely. Veins exploded across his forehead as hatred and humiliation made him forget the power gap and his fear of the Roger Pirates.

"What right does trash like you have to judge my life?!!!"

His childhood trauma—the pain that would haunt him forever. When that pathetic cover got ripped away, rationality went out the window.

After all, you're just some 15-year-old punk!!!
