Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The Strongest Agent In The Future

"Drip! The mission is completed—The Confrontation of the Strongest! Reward obtained: a random ability of Captain Marvel. It is being drawn—"

"Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Super Ability—High-Speed Flight, which allows you to fly in any environment without the need for external objects!"

As Thor pushed Carol to the ground for the third time, the system's notification sound finally came. Although Flight is inconspicuous compared to Captain Marvel's other abilities, it is still very useful for Thor at this stage. This means he can now fight in space without relying on Mjolnir or Stormbreaker.

Natasha, on the side, was dozing with her mobile phone, since Thor had requested that they record the fight.

"Is this necessary?" she thought. In her opinion, the fighting style of this seemingly powerful elder sister was quite rough, at least compared to her own physical skills. As for that strange uncle, his style of combat was very retro, almost barbaric.

God of Thunder? He looked like a Spartan from thousands of years ago…

"I think you really need to hone your fighting skills," Thor said, shaking his head. "People like Yong Rogge are not strong enough to defeat enemies with Super Abilities alone. There are countless strong people in the universe. Against truly powerful opponents, physical skills are crucial. Attacks that don't cause damage, no matter how powerful, are useless."

He wasn't just talking about Carol, but also himself. The reason Thanos couldn't be defeated in the final battle was largely due to the suppression of physical skills. Although the battle axe is indestructible, there's no opportunity to strike Thanos except with a sneak attack.

Carol nodded. She was aware of the problem as well. When destroying Ronan's fighter squad earlier, she had been extremely fast, but still couldn't dodge many attacks, relying instead on the strong defense of her double-star state.

It had been a tough loss, but she still wanted to propose a fight using her Super Ability. Yet when she thought it through, she realized she couldn't afford to lose.

In the evening, everyone gathered in the living room of Maria Rambo's house to discuss tomorrow's plans.

Nick Fury, with only one eye, gave a wry smile when he saw Natasha brought by Thor.

"I met this child when I was looking for a hammer. She's a natural fighter with the potential to become a top agent," Thor said as he handed Natasha to Nick Fury. He trusted her potential.

"Oh?" Fury raised an eyebrow. Thor's praise was rare and not easily given. He looked at Natasha. "What's your name?"

"Natasha Romanoff," she said calmly. Now that a new life had begun, her previous name was no longer used.

"By the way," Thor added suddenly, "I don't know how your agents usually handle missions, but I must remind you that her abilities will surpass most male agents. I don't want you to assign her tasks based on her being a woman. That's crucial—otherwise, how is this any different from the Red Room?"

Natasha looked at him gratefully.

Nick Fury understood Thor perfectly. He nodded. "Many people misunderstand the profession of an agent. For top-level agents, what you just said is actually rare. Treating an agent as a weapon is a double-edged sword and could even lead to the death of one's personnel. Take Agent Carter, for example. She only ever showed favoritism to one person… well, you can see it in her right eye."

After a pause, he continued, "Basically, only the lowest-level agents are treated as disposable weapons. If the training is just for combat, there are plenty of places in Manhattan at night—S.H.I.E.L.D. or not."

Thor nodded in understanding. It made sense. If beauty alone could solve problems, why spend so much time training in various fighting skills?

Natasha's extraordinary abilities led Nick Fury to decide to hand her over to Peggy Carter for training. As a legendary figure, Carter was the best agent, and Natasha was expected to be trained as her successor.

"This pair of wristbands is a gift I'm giving you as a reward for helping me find the hammer. Study its abilities when you have time—it will help you greatly!"

Thor placed the magical bracelets, rewarded by the system, on Natasha's wrists. The bracelets disappeared, but Natasha felt a deep connection with them in her heart.
