Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Memory Return

In the living room of Maria Rambo's house, the little girl Monica watched as Carol boiled water in a few seconds using her super ability. Her eyes widened in surprise. Children have rich imaginations and are usually more receptive to new things.

"Wow, that's cool! Is there anything else?" she asked, turning to Thor.

"There will be a chance to see even cooler things. For now, you should show Aunt Carol everything you have," Thor said. The little girl ran into the room with Carol, while Thor leaned back on the sofa leisurely, watching Nick Fury, who was staring at him intently.

"Why are you looking at me like that? I don't like being stared at by a man," Thor said casually.

Nick Fury wondered aloud, "Why do I feel like you know a lot of things? You weren't even surprised by… Firth… oh, I mean Carol Danvers. It's as if you've known her for a long time."

As expected of the future king, Thor's powers of observation were indeed keen.

"From the very beginning, you identified her as a Kree, believed everything she said, and subconsciously agreed with the concepts instilled by the Kree. But I did not. In my understanding, the Kree and the Skrulls are not exactly peace-loving races."

Seeing that Fury still looked suspicious, Thor added, "And my mother is the greatest witch in Asgard."

As Thor spoke, he suddenly threw his hammer, which brushed past Talos' head behind the door. "After listening for so long, why don't you come out and talk?"

Talos emerged, looking surprised and empty-handed—the only cup of milk tea in the refrigerator was in Thor's hand.

Carol, who heard the movement, quickly ran out, staring at Talos with her hands beginning to glow.

"Oh no, no, no! We are not enemies..." Talos said hurriedly. He knew how fierce this woman could be. "There are a lot of misunderstandings between us. I think we need to have a good chat..."

"The last time we talked, I don't think it was a misunderstanding to hang me upside down," Carol said unimpressed.

Talos quickly stepped back. "I didn't know your past as an agent last time, and I didn't know how different you are from others…"

Then—

"Meow!!!"

Shadow, whose tail had been stepped on, jumped up.

"Oh my God! How can you have such a dangerous creature here? Keep it away from me!" Talos' green face turned even greener. Thor, however, immediately hugged Shadow, who might have otherwise been swallowed.

"Dangerous? You mean this cat?" Nick Fury laughed. The man pretending to be his boss was actually scared of a cat.

Seeing S's tail in Thor's hand, Talos shuddered and continued, "I have a black box from the plane crash that year. You can listen to it."

The voice from the stereo began to play, slowly revealing the truth of that year. Carol's memory started returning as the audio played. When it ended, Carol, fully recovered, rushed out the door. She knew the truth, but her mind struggled to accept it—the truth of being deceived and used for so many years.

"You're Carol Danvers, the one who risked her life to do the right thing. You were my best friend, supported me when no one else did, became a mother, became a flight officer..." Maria Rambo reassured her, trying to calm her down.

"The real purpose of the Tianma Project is not to fight wars, but to end them," Thor said lightly. "Although I have been deceived for six years, there is still room for redemption. There will be a break between you, the Kree, and the Supreme Intelligence."

Carol's expression gradually softened. She decided to complete what Dr. Lawson hadn't finished, helping the Skrulls find a safe new home—a place where the Kree could not reach them.
