Chapter 95 - 26. Adele's Launching Ceremony

There is no erotic element this time.

This is the island of Water SevenThe Great RouteGrand Line

It is also known as the city of water, and perhaps in proportion to this, it has developed shipbuilding technology.

The main customers here are ordinary adventurers, companies such as trading companies, and even pirates, as well as the large Galley-La Company, which also undertakes work for the government.

To them, anyone who paid the proper fees and took good care of the ship was a customer.

"Iceberg-san."

"Hmmmm, what is it?"

And then there's Iceberg, the company president, manager of the Sea Train, which is the key transportation link to other islands, and mayor, making him the most powerful man on the island, but he is also a man of great character and loved by the islanders.

His beautiful secretary, Khalifa, called out to him.

"There's a customer outside the dog."

"Customer...? Who is it?"

"They are people with letters of introduction from Kokoro from Shift Station."

It's common knowledge among the islanders that Iceberg and Kokoro are drinking buddies, but since they were only introduced by a friend, it's unclear whether Iceberg will meet up, so he's making her wait outside.

However, Iceberg seemed to be planning to meet him, and left, saying, "Outside the dog."

Just as he reached the outside of the dog, Kaku, the chief carpenter in dog number 1, jumped into the air.

The customers, who were all panicking, were a young man, a lady-like woman, a strong-willed woman, and a young child, and I called out to them, "Don't worry, Mrs."

Just as the voice said, Kaku jumped out and landed lightly, running across the roof of the building with steady steps.

"...It flies from places like that."

"In order to build a faster, stronger ship, ordinary physical ability will not be enough. Besides... I'd like to introduce you to Grandma Kokoro."

Hearing this, the man introduced himself, "Ah, Captain Luffy. These are crew members Kaya, Nami, and Adele," and handed Kokoro a letter of introduction.

When I opened it, it said "Check out the boat, Kokoro" in really messy handwriting, and there was also a love bite on it.

After reading it, Iceberg ripped it into pieces.

"Oh! Please, look at the ship!"

"Okay."

"Is that okay?! If so, why?!"

"The kiss marks were unpleasant."

It's true that there are probably few people who would be happy to receive a love bite from someone of the opposite sex who is as old as their parents.

Iceberg said, "Besides, Kaku is already on his way for an appraisal. He's still a customer whether he has a letter of introduction or not."

"By the way, are you interested in building ships, young lady?"

"Uh, uh,...yeah."

While Luffy and the others were talking with Iceberg, Adele was peering inside from the edge of the fence.

He watched the craftsmen's movements with interest, not so much because he was amused as because he seemed to be observing their movements.

"We don't have a shipwright on our ship, and this kid is interested, but there's no one to teach him the skills."

"Mmm... I'm surprised you were able to sail without a shipwright."

The Great RouteGrand LineThe damage to the ship was not necessarily small, and sailing without a shipwright to repair it was more dangerous than walking a tightrope without a safety rope.

However, Luffy realized that he was relying too much on it, saying, "I can repair it to some extent with my abilities."

"Okay, then I'll show you the factory."

"! Really?"

"Yes. You can find what you want to do in anything because you admire it. Many of our craftsmen joined the company because they admired the skills of their predecessors."

In response to Iceberg's generosity, his secretary, Kalifa, told him the details of his plans: "However, in 10 minutes I will be having dinner with executives from the glass factory at a hotel in Chisa, and then after my lecture in Piazza Liguria I will be meeting with Mr. Binemi, the mayor of Pucci. I would like you to be interviewed by the newspapers there and then go through the documents at our head office." Iceberg immediately refused, saying, "No way!"

"Then cancel everything."

"No, is that okay?"

"I'm a powerful person who can do this."

"Okay, Adele. Don't grow up like this."

"Yeah"

Judging from Khalifa's reaction, this isn't the first time something like this has happened.

Kaya saw him taking it for granted and used it as a bad example to teach him.

"Oh, Iceberg!"

"Hey, the president's here!"

Just having the company's president appear on-site caused the craftsmen to get excited as if it were a festival.

Each of them calls out to him to let him know how their work went or to say hello.

"It's really popular."

"Of course. On this island where shipbuilding is all about skill, he captivated the seven shipbuilding companies that existed at the time with his skill alone, and five years ago he brought together the Galley-La Company. His passion and skill for shipbuilding remain unchanged, and the craftsmen never forget their respect for him."

"......"

After hearing that, Adele realized that even though Iceberg was a bad example of someone in power, his abilities were real.

Just then, Kaku returned after finishing his assessment of the ship.

"Oh, that person from before! Have you finished assessing the ship?"

"Oh...Iceberg-san was there too."

"Yeah, I've heard the details. Hey, can I have a look at this kid? He's a future colleague."

"Oh, I understand."

Iceberg put in a good word with a nearby shipwright to take care of Adele.

Luffy saw Adele off, saying, "Try not to cause too much trouble," and then faced Iceberg, who had asked about the state of the ship and summarized the results, saying, "I see."

"To put it bluntly, what was the level of damage to the ship?"

"...It seems like the situation is just one step away from the worst. Repairs are possible, but I can't recommend them. The ship is a caravel, right? I can't say for sure until we bring it ashore and check it out, but if we intend to continue the voyage, we'll need to make repairs to the entire ship, otherwise it will be difficult for us to continue our voyage."The Great RouteGrand Line

"But that ship..."

The Merry was Kaya's favorite ship even before it was handed over to the Adventure Team.

The ship was designed by her butler, Mary, and she had many different encounters and experiences on board.

"Well, for now we're only going to assess it. We don't need to decide what to do here. Once we've come to a conclusion, I'll take care of you again. Kalifa."

"Yes. This is a catalogue ranging from the latest to used items, which should give you an idea of prices."

There must be many customers like this, as Luffy, who received a catalog of Galley-La Company ships, asked Iceberg, who was about to leave, "I have one thing I want to ask you."

Water Seven: Port

Luffy and the others, who had gone out to get an appraisal for the ship, and Robin and the others, who had gone shopping, had returned and had eaten.

Everyone was wondering what to do with the Merry, but it was decided that the important discussion would be held among the adults alone, after the children, Adele and Oto, had gone to bed.

"So, what are you going to do?"

Since it was a port, there was no need for constant vigil. Up until now, if that had happened, everyone would have had sex with Luffy, but now they were in no mood to do that.

Even Vivi and Kaya, who should have had their turn, had no intention of telling Luffy, "Let's do it."

That's how important the Merry was to us, and how important our home was to us.

"First of all, from this point onwards, there is a limit to the strength of the Caravel Merry and the steering ability we can exert."

"That's true, but..."

The ship was steered by Luffy's abilities, and if Luffy himself is feeling the limits of his abilities, it can only be said that sailing the Merry is difficult.

However, this would mean parting ways with the Merry. Nojiko and the others look worriedly at Kaya, the ship's original owner, but she doesn't seem as sad as they'd expect.

"My first thought is to have a new ship built instead of purchasing one. In particular, there are limitations to the steering ability of a normal sailing ship, so we need to improve that."

"So, what is the Merry...?"

"We plan to reuse the wood from the Merry to build the ship."

Everyone was surprised by Luffy's idea except for Nami and Kaya, who had asked Iceberg if the wood from the ship could be reused.

"Not all of them can be used. We don't know how much of them we can use. But using those bodies, the Merry will be reborn as a new ship."

"Can you do that?"

"Yes, it is possible. However, we will need to bring the Merry ashore and dismantle it to see how usable it is."

According to Iceberg, "Until about 15 years ago, people would build ships using materials collected from a junkyard called Shipwreck Island on the outskirts of the island," so it seems that it's not impossible.

The next problem was the cost and time. Even if we used the wood from the Merry, it would still not be enough, so we would have to include that in the cost.

The rest will involve building the boat from scratch, which will take some time.

"Well, it's not a rushed trip. And as for the cost—"

"Yes, I'm fully prepared."

Nami is a frugal person and has perfect money management skills, with enough budget to easily purchase the new ship in the catalogue she received from Galley-La Company.

The next issue is the opinion of everyone who will be on board the new ship.

"If you want to continue traveling on the Merry, or if you want to board a completely new ship, please let me know. The ship is our home and our life, and we don't want to continue sailing out of respect for that."

"--I see. So it's fine to have a contract to build a new ship."

"Oh, there are a number of requests regarding that."

The next day, Nami, who holds the purse strings for Luffy and his group, goes to Galley-La Company, where she is greeted by Iceberg. When she tells him the policy they had discussed and decided on the day before, he simply agrees, saying, "Okay, I understand."

Normally, there would be a specialized office staff member there, but they responded by saying, "They're probably bored anyway," and had canceled their plans again.

"I would like to discuss the interior design during the design stage, but first I want to make sure I can fully utilize my abilities."

"By the way, you said it yesterday, but what are your abilities?"

"Oh, so that's it."

With that said, Luffy activated his ability, "Change," and the cream puffs being served as a snack with the coffee he was serving turned into apples.

Iceberg's eyes widened at the sudden turn of events, but Luffy ignored him and took a bite, making a very juicy crunching sound.

"The Tag Tag Fruit. It's the ability to rewrite and grant information to objects. Until now, I've been steering the ship by myself, exchanging information about the sails and rudder."

"...I see. But is it a ship powered by abilities?"

He understood the usefulness of Luffy's steering ability, but Iceberg was reluctant to put it to use.

This is because ships powered by abilities have been built in the past.

However, Tag Tag is actually a bit of a curveball in that it is driven by ability.

It's not something as simple as "creating flames" or "controlling the wind."

Rather, the problem was figuring out what kind of structure to use.

"...I'd leave it to our designers, but there's one guy who likes to build unusual ships like that."

"So, here?"

Iceberg was introduced to a tiny building on the outskirts of town called Frankie House.

Franky is the head of the Franky Family, a bounty hunter and demolition worker who has a bad reputation for dismantling the very pirate gangs that come to Water Seven.

Iceberg, who had designed various ships in the past and had appreciated his ideas, said, "If I tell them it was me who introduced them, they'll at least listen to me," and that if he also asked them to dismantle the Merry, he wouldn't turn down the request.

There must have been someone there, as I knocked on the door of the bustling building, and the voice became quieter as a strange-looking man wearing fishnet stockings, armor, and goggles came out.

"Yes, who are you?"

"President Iceberg introduced me to a man here named Frankie. He also asked me to dismantle a ship."

Hearing that it was work, he called inside, "Brother! I have a job request for you!!" and welcomed Luffy and Nami in, saying, "Come in."

Inside, there were men who looked similar to the man, working, eating, or playing cards, and at the back, a man with a pompadour and wearing swim trunks and an aloha shirt stood up and asked, "Are you a customer?"

"Apparently this is an introduction from that Bakaburg guy. I'm Frankie, the head of the household who brings these guys together."

"I'm Captain Luffy. This is Nami, I'm in charge of the ship's finances."

After I introduced myself, Frankie plopped down on a nearby sofa and said, "Come on, have a seat. I'll get you a Coke."

Luffy and Nami sat down as per their urging, and a woman with a unique, board-like hairstyle placed two Coke bottles on the table. Franky received a new bottle from the woman with the same hairstyle, and as he opened it, he said, "So, let me ask you about your job."

"First, regarding the dismantling, I would like you to dismantle our ship. The request is for you to transport the resulting lumber to Galley-La Company."

"Your ship? Are you planning to sell it to Galley-La?"

"No, I plan to use what I can from the lumber to build a new ship. I've come all the way here from the Eastern Blue, so I'm attached to it, and more than anything, it's the ship my important friends are on, so I want to use it as much as I can."

Perhaps sensing his feelings of caring for the ship, Frankie said, "Yeah, I understand," and didn't ask any further questions.

Then he called out to the man who had guided Luffy and the others earlier, "Hey, Zambai!" and gave them instructions, "Let's get ready for work. Get the demolition tools ready."

"So, what's the main topic?"

"…[change]"

Luffy uses his power to transform a bottle on the table into the shape of a glass. Franky is surprised by what he sees, but realizes it must be a Devil Fruit. Luffy then drinks some cola from the transformed glass.

"I have the ability to manipulate information like changes in the state of things, temperature, size, and weight. Until now, I've used my ability to steer ordinary sailing ships, but I want a ship where I can fully utilize my abilities."

"Then Iceberg said that you're good at coming up with ideas like that."

When Nami took over from Luffy and said that, Franky seemed to have had some idea, and although he seemed a little annoyed, he accepted, saying, "Okay."

This marked the beginning of a long stay in Water Seven.

They waited for Frankie's ideas to draw up the ship's blueprints, and Frankie and his family started by dismantling the Merry.

"...Poor Merry."

"That may be true, but this is the only way to bring Mary's memories with me to the new ship."

"..."

Uta comforts Oto, who looks sad as he watches Mary being brought ashore at Frankie House and dismantled.

After that, I went sightseeing with Oto, who was feeling down about the Merry, to change my mood.

She was pleased that he had broken her hymen by inserting it into her front hole for the first time,

The friendly shipwrights teach Adele how to do the work,

She wore a skirt and no pants underneath, exposing herself a little,

Or Robin and his masculine siblings, who are concerned about what others think of them as government agents, go around looking at the furniture they can put on their new ship.

I was able to do things that I normally wouldn't be able to do, like dealing with everyone at the same time.

A few days passed like this.

"Aqua Laguna?"

"The waves are so high they can swallow up the back streets. This season comes every year, so the people on the island are used to it, but work has no choice but to stop."

Iceberg said this to Luffy, who had come to a meeting to discuss transporting the dismantled Merry to Galley-La, accompanied by Adele, who wanted to visit the factory every day.

I had certainly heard some kind of warning sounding throughout town on my way here, but I never imagined it was about a wave so high it would engulf the town.

"So, aren't we going to build a boat today?"

"Hmm? Ah, yes, but... that's right. I can ask around later. Shipbuilding isn't just about processing wood and assembling it. Drawing up blueprints, tying ropes, and other important elements include experience and knowledge."

Adele was disappointed to learn that she couldn't tour the facility today, but Iceberg replied, "We don't have anyone who would look down on someone who wants to study to be a shipwright."

Adele nodded and said, "I understand."

"Now, back to the main topic. For now, the dismantled lumber and parts will be transported to the dock today as planned and stored temporarily. Now we just have to wait for Frankie to get to work..."

"--Ah! You called me!!"

"Whaaa?!"

As if he'd planned the timing, Frankie came in. He slammed the door open without knocking, startling Adele, and when Frankie noticed, he adjusted his sunglasses and patted her on the head apologetically, saying, "Yeah, I guess I startled you."

"Frankie, I've told you many times to talk to Kalifa before coming..."

"Huh? How many times have you responded like that?"

"Right now, I'm asking you to do the job. There's no way you could refuse. So? Did you manage it?"

"Yeeeesss! I've created something super awesome!"

Frankie said, spreading out the blueprints he had brought with him on the table.

What was unexpected was that when they asked Franky to come up with an idea for a mechanism using Luffy's Tag Tag Fruit, he actually drew a blueprint for a ship.

"Ahahahaha, the more I think about the structure that powers Devil Fruits, the more interesting ideas I come up with. Thanks to that, I've even made the blueprints for a ship."

"Hey, that's my area of responsibility..."

"...Amazing."

The contract was merely to design a mechanism using their abilities, but when Iceberg tried to complain about going any further than that, Adele muttered something after looking at the blueprints.

Perhaps they heard her muttering, as both Frankie, who was laughing loudly, and Iceberg, who was clutching his brow, looked at Adele.

"Oh, girl! Do you see how amazing I am?"

"Well... there's something different from normal... like this place..."

As she said this, Adele pointed at the steering mechanism, which was the main focus of this project - but rather at six compartments attached to the bottom of the ship.

It was a mechanism rarely seen on a normal boat, with two paddles stored in four garages.

"Heh, you have an eye for it even though it's small. This Soldier Dock System was originally designed to run on fuel, but if you use the power of the Tag-Tag Fruit to grant it power, it's easy to turn that into energy for the paddles. I'm planning to put things like a shopping boat or a submarine in each of the four garages."

"Oh...! Ah, this mechanism over here is connected to the sail..."

"Oh, that will link it together..."

Luffy and Iceberg looked at each other, as if Franky was watching Adele study.

However, Adele excitedly asks Frankie questions about the blueprints, which shows that it's a positive influence.

"...It seems to have caught the eye of our shipwright. There may be some changes, but can we proceed with the discussion based on this?"

"Mm, that's the customer. And I think... it's not a bad ship."

Iceberg, who had confidence in Frankie's skills, noticed from the blueprints that Frankie had not yet given up on building the ship and said nothing more.

"...Is this a normal year?"

"Looking around, it seems more amazing than usual."

Morning came as Aqua Laguna passed by, and when they emerged from the evacuation center, they found the city half-destroyed.

Not only Luffy and his companions, who are travelers, but even the familiar residents were surprised, so it seemed like something was abnormal.

"It was a good idea to bring some valuables with me just in case..."

"Yes, I'm glad the tangerine trees were left at the dock with the lumber from the Merry..."

Frankie House was built on the coast, so it was taken away in its entirety.

If we hadn't brought the Merry and the tangerine trees in yesterday, they would have been swept away by the waves.

We didn't know what was going on at the hotel, but we thought there might be some flood thieves, so we divided up the burden of bringing along money and other valuables, which seems to have been a good idea.

"For now, Tashigi and the others should head back to the hotel. I hope they're safe, but if not, please find a place to stay. I'll go talk to Iceberg."

With the city in this state, it wouldn't be surprising if employees of the Galley-La Company, which owns the ship, were called in to help with the reconstruction, and he is the mayor.large・Engineering・

At the very least, I thought it was necessary to hold a meeting to discuss this, as I didn't think the town would be able to carry out shipbuilding properly in this situation.

"There's nothing to worry about, Manma. The damage is worse than usual, but we're always thinking about the worst case scenario."

Iceberg, who had been giving instructions to his employees, told Luffy that he would leave the handover to the man wearing goggles and smoking a cigar.

Then a man wearing goggles encouraged them, saying, "You guys! I'll fix this back alley in a month in between work!"

"Don't worry about building the ship. We put our customers first, and we'll keep things on schedule."

Then one month later

Just as the man with the goggles had declared, Luffy and his friends had also lent a hand in the reconstruction, and the backstreets had been beautifully repaired earlier than expected.

Perhaps as expected, it is quite difficult to balance shipbuilding with reconstruction.

So they offered to use their abilities to repair the ship and remove the wreckage. At first, Iceberg said they would do it themselves, but they persuaded him by saying, "If we help, the ship will be completed faster, right?"

Once the reconstruction was complete and the shipbuilding work returned to full swing, Iceberg said, "This is a thank you to everyone who took care of us," and the shipbuilding was carried out by the elite craftsmen from Dock No. 1, a company that was one of the world's top shipbuilding companies.

Although the craftsmen were initially confused by the drawings based on Frankie's design, they showed their true skill and completed a beautiful ship.

"Well..."

"nice!"

"That's fine!"

The ship unveiled at the launching ceremony.

The head is several times larger than the Go Merry and resembles a lion, sunflower, or sun.

Everyone cheered with joy when they saw it. It looked like a pleasure boat, but it was still fun to sail across the sea.

"Now, who's going to do the wine?"

"wine?"

"At a ship's launching ceremony, it's customary to throw a wine bottle at the hull and break it. I did it on the Merry."

When Nojiko asked why wine, Kaya explained.

--By the way, it was considered bad luck if the wine did not break, and it did not break on the Merry, but only Kaya knew this.

"Oto, do you want to do it?"

"Hmm... no. Big sister Adele is better."

"Eh, me?"

I asked Oto, who is the youngest and would likely be given the highest priority at an event like this, if he would do it, and he recommended Adele.

I didn't know why, but Bibi, who had received the alcohol, handed the bottle to Adele and said, "Here you go."

"Well then, Adele, go all out."

"...Okay, I understand. ...I'll be counting on you from now on."

Adele picked up the bottle with both hands, looked at the ship once, muttered a word, and swung it with all her might.

"Nice to meet you, Thousand Sunny!!"

Saying this, he threw the bottle, which drew an arc and broke into pieces when it hit the hull of the ship.

First of all, I'd like to apologize to everyone for making you wait and wondering if I would continue writing, as my motivation was wavering and I was thinking, "I'm going to stop posting," or "Maybe I should continue after all."

It's

different from the original, so I had a lot of trouble deciding...

First of all, a major difference is that Robin doesn't come into contact with CP9 or go to Enies Lobby.

After leaving Alabasta, Robin's origins were somewhat revealed, so while she's out at sea, she disguises herself as a man when in public, so no one recognizes her.

Also, in the original, Aokiji confirms Robin's presence when he comes into contact with them, but since he doesn't come into contact with them here, Robin is listed as "missing" to the government and the public.

(Even if they challenged her to a Davy Back Fight, there's no reason for her to accept...)

Therefore, Robin's presence in Water 7 goes unnoticed.

Also, since CP9's plan doesn't allow them to frame the Straw Hat Pirates (Luffy's Adventure Team), I decided to continue their infiltration.

As for the Merry, since they didn't engage in any pirate combat, it sustained less damage than in the original.

However, I was still worried about the future of the voyage, so I decided to disassemble the Merry and use the remaining parts for the Thousand Sunny.

(Note: The Sunny in this work does not use the Adam treasure tree.)

I also think they might not have gotten the gold because they didn't need to go to the dangerous Sky Island.

Franky's family probably wouldn't mess with law-abiding citizens, and Luffy and his friends don't have 300 million, so there are no battles.

I considered just having them build a ship, but I thought it would be interesting to have Adele become a shipwright apprentice. After all, both of his parents were shipwrights.

So I studied at Galley-La for a few weeks.

(After that, I'll probably study from a book I bought at the bookstore.) I thought

about what to do about the Sunny and how to have Franky design it, and that's how it ended up in the form of this article.

As for the question, "Will Franky build the ship?" Franky has been raising funds to purchase the Adam treasure tree for quite some time, and he himself said, "I end up drawing the blueprints for the ship," so it's not like he's "absolutely not going to do it!!"

Incidentally, instead of a cola engine, it's powered by Luffy's ability, and while there are paddles, there's no Coodo Burst (it wouldn't be strong enough).

There aren't any other major differences, so just think of it as the Sunny without the Coodo Burst mechanism... well, even if there was, there's no scene where it's used, so it's irrelevant.

Also, while Iceberg's name is used, let's just assume that it was decided when Luffy and Adele came to Iceberg's place.

I actually thought it would be nice to have some weird names like Nojiko, Kaya, Tashigi, and Robin, like in the original, but I felt it would be weird for Iceberg to name the ship, so I cut it out.

Also, although I couldn't fit it all into the story, Franky inserted Mini Merry No. 2 into the Soldier Dock System because he saw Oto crying and used wood from the Merry to make it.

(What about Shiromokuba No. 1 and Shark Submerge No. 3? No. 4 has a "Pop-Up Surprise Pool" for Oto and Adele.)

Anyway, that's all for today's work, but one more thing.

Some of you may have noticed, but I've lifted the "Unknown" anonymous name from my post.

Thanks to the support of so many people, I decided to make my name public as a way to avoid constantly changing posts, as I mentioned earlier.

There's another reason, and to be honest, I'm almost running out of ideas.

I think I can manage a scenario where "Mikita" and "Honey Queen" board the ship, but nothing else...

So I'm going to solicit character and situation suggestions in the activity report.

Detailed submission information is listed in the activity report, so if you have a character or situation you'd like to see, please submit your ideas.

Unfortunately, there won't be much erotic content in the next one either.
