Chapter 40 - Gaia's dilemma

Gaia was panicking. Most of Gaia's victories came from her humans fighting weaker or equal opponents. They had gotten complacent.Yes the humans trained their skills and strengh every day but they had grown too confident.

They had been hit with a reality check in the form of Gordon Lazuli. He had overwhelmed and outmatched every human he encountered with his superior raw power and high bloodline cultivation.

Gaia had assumed that there would be more powerful enemies but Gordon had completely blown her expectations and the humans expectations out of the water.

She did have some essence remaining but nothing new that she could summon would be enough to handle the beast by the name of Gordon.

Speaking of Gordon he had collected the loot dropped by Valerie and the head priestress. The azure drake was now flying to Aiki village where the rest of the elite humans, two remaining boss humans and Arther resided.

Gaia obviously didn't count the oracle among that number because bluntly speaking she was still a child who couldn't even level up.Gaia then realised that she had moved her core to Aiki village and would likely be destroyed if Gordon had hostile intentions.

It was the same for the human race artifact the Scepter of the Ascendant. The artifact and its pedastal had been moved into Aiki village. Both the core and the human race artifact were in a large hut.

Gaia had almost unlocked another human race artifact known as the Spear of Babylon. After getting an achievement for one of her humans gaining a mythical skill she only needed the achievement for a unique skill.

...

Gordon reached the village. So far he had collected a large amount of blood essence, bones, spells and techniques. He was pleased by the loot from the two boss monsters.

One was a spell that would enable him to summon water elementals once he adapted it to his individuality, integrating the ability into his arsenal. If he could attune it to his bloodline techniques then the cost would be neglible.

The second was a rather interesting technique that would add a "radioactive effect" to all his water attacks. It would also have a mutating effect on any artificial life he created inside of his water.

Gordon didn't know what radiation was but he knew it was probably something volatile and dangerous. The mutation effect was interesting too. This technique would be difficult to add to his arsenal as he needed to focus on his individuality.

The technique was also complex and had concepts he didn't fully understand or was ignorant of.If he tried to integrate it as the technique was now then he would likely suffer from bloodline cultivation deviation.

He might not be able to add the destructive radioactive effects to his water but he could probably add the mutation effect to the artificial life he creates.

Gordon looked beneath him. There was a large mob of humans of varying strengths beneath him.One of them was the same height as him and had the strongest presence so far.Another one appeared to be a boss but also possessed a bloodline.

Gordon grinned. He had been wondering if humans could even have bloodlines. He got his answer and he was glad his academy was the one to get the Gaia dungeon.

"Hmmm they look quite angry Gordon."

"So...what are they going to do about it?"

Gordon flew straight towards the boss with the bloodline. As he got closer Gordon could feel that the human's bones were well above the standard durability for a human of its power level. It was likely due to its bloodline.

The boss human was dark skinned with dark hair and wielded two long warhammers. The male boss human was startled but readied his hammers and activated a skill.A see through orb appeared around each hammer.

The orbs stayed around the blunt ends of the hammers as though they were bubbles. He swung them at Gordon's approaching head.Gordon pulled back a fist and swung.

The scaly fist clad in presence and the hammer encased in a bubble collided.Gordon felt a tremendous force blast off the hammer and into his fist. The force was negated once again by Gordon's fist.

"Earthquake generation? An impressive ability for a mob of your level but futile."

Gordon lashed out with his other fist and splattered the boss humans brains on to the sidewalk.Durable bones or no he was too low a power level for it to matter.

Gordon picked up the loot which was pretty good all things considered.Human blood essence had to be properly refined before it could be used in bloodline cultivation. It was surprisingly good for building up your bloodline cultivation and could help with low level breakthroughs. That was for weak bloodline cultivaters. For now anyways.

Now that humans with bloodlines appeared they would give far higher quality blood essence and even bloodline inheritances.
