Magic System

The story's power system follows a strict set of rules and mechanics. Magic is something exclusive to fantasy races, meaning native humans in the New World are born without the ability to wield it naturally.

Among those who can use it, magic manifests in different forms such as elemental manipulation, physical enhancement, healing, summoning, and even reality-bending techniques at the highest levels. Magical beasts, experienced mages, and powerful Transcendents represent some of the greatest threats in this world, capable of destroying armies or laying waste to cities.

The story uses the Magical Energy Unit (MEU) System to classify threats:

—————————————————

Low-Level Threats

• Level 1: Below 999 MEU (Minor Threats)

Description: These are weak monsters, animals mutated by mana, or low-class mages with limited training. They can usually be handled by a single trained soldier, guard, or police officer. While they may endanger civilians if ignored, they are not a large-scale threat.

• Level 2: 1,000–1,999 MEU (Dangerous but manageable)

Description: Beings in this category are stronger than an average human and pose a serious danger to unarmed civilians. They require small groups of armed soldiers or well-equipped adventurers to eliminate. Their abilities are threatening but remain within the capacity of standard military or law enforcement operations.

• Level 3: 2,000–2,999 MEU

Description: These creatures or combatants are capable of overwhelming squads of soldiers through sheer strength, defense, or magical abilities. They are dangerous to settlements and lightly armed patrols but can be neutralized by disciplined forces with coordination, vehicles, or heavy support weapons.

Intermediate-Level Threats

• Level 4: 3,000–3,999 MEU (Military-grade)

Description: This is where monsters and individuals begin to resist normal gunfire, shrug off small arms, and require concentrated military firepower to bring down. A single Level 4 threat can wipe out squads if they are careless. Bombs or coordinated platoons are usually necessary to secure victory.

• Level 5: 4,000–4,999 MEU

Description: These threats can withstand heavy weapons such as grenades and other explosives. They require larger-scale tactical responses, including multiple armored vehicles, heavy explosives, or sustained aerial support. Unchecked, they can easily massacre entire platoons of soldiers.

• Level 6: 5,000–5,999 MEU (City-scale)

Description: Entities of this level can tear through fortified steel, dodge or endure artillery barrages, and slaughter hundreds within hours. Their speed and destructive potential make them a nightmare for urban centers. A single Level 6 appearing in a city can cause catastrophic loss of life before elite units or specialized weaponry intervene.

• Level 7: 6,000–6,999 MEU

Description: These beings move with inhuman speed and carry overwhelming destructive power. They can crush multiple companies, leap across buildings, and generate mass panic in moments. Standard weapons are nearly useless, forcing nations to deploy multiple heavy units to take care of it.

High-Level Threats

• Level 8: 7,000–7,999 MEU (City-wrecking)

Description: Threats at this tier can flatten entire districts in a single confrontation. They are often highly mobile and rendered conventional responses ineffective. Full-scale military deployment, including air strikes, artillery, platoons of tanks, and fortified ground forces, is required to contain them.

• Level 9: 8,000–8,999 MEU

Description: These are continent-famous disasters, capable of annihilating entire armies or wiping out fortified bases. The minimum to defeat such beings at that level was an entire battalion and only nations with specialized weapons or powerful champions stood a chance against them.

• Level 10: 9,000–9,999 MEU

Description: The highest non-Transcendent level. A single Level 10 being can annihilate entire cities, massacre armies, and destroy hardened fortresses in hours. They represent existential threats to nations and can duel against armored battalions alone and emerge victorious, which require every possible resource to bring down.
