The golden misted bullet was sent flying towards Estill, his vision was aimed towards the other Stackers, the bullet didn't make a sound the bullet didn't whistle with the air. Estill could have sensed the bullet.
This second he heard the shot he quickly stood up, as he did the golden bullet shot into his right leg, the bullet stood still inside of his bone it glowed golden as it began to shine more.
AH!Estill groaned as he looked towards the hole, he than looked at the Stacker who already gotten up, In a high and powerful tone he spoke.
"Run! Leave out this window now! This may be a threat to you!" Estill pointed towards the window, he quickly ran towards a shelf, what laid was his wooden cane.
Vince kept looking at the hole, his heart was beating, after watching them flee he watched Estill grab his cane.. Than in a instant Estill eyes looked directly into the hole, staring deep into Vince eyes.
Holy shit! Vince core shook as he quickly jumped off the bed, he ran untill he reached the door leading towards the hallway, behind him he could hear the sound of things cricking.
SSSSSS!
Vince turned around, out of the hole he made, out reeked a thick redish black smoke, it looked like it could pour at any moment but still stayed afloat, inside the red mist seemed to be the mouths of people, it was gnawing on the wood and slowly gnawing on the ground.
Is this the power of gluttony! Vince thought in shocked, he than opened the door and shut it.
BANG!
The sound of a roof breaking shook the mansion, running towards the side of the door were the room lead he punched a hole with his finger, inside he saw the whole area was covered in the red mistly smoke. The room above had been completely gone, the family room was also slowly being fed on, the bed was destroyed. In the middle he saw Estill standing in the smoke, but it didn't react to him, instead the smoke hovered around him staying away from Estill. His face was dark and serious, he held his cane in the middle. Vince still shaken held the gun and placed the barrel inside the hole.
He knew were Estill was.
BANG!
The bullet shot towards his figure, the golden bullet shot flying in the air, Estill hearing the gun shot ran towards the sound, as he ran the bullet shot at his arm and stayed in his bone, it didn't hurt Estill, his calm face changed to a devilish grin.
"I found you!" His voice wanted to be calm but couldn't he reeked of death.
I need to run! I need to run! Vince quickly got up, but before to could make any distance the wall behind broke into multiple pieces.
WHOOSH!
Estill eyes instantly locked onto Vince, quickly he bent down and than in a instant he dashed forward, Estill was now above Vince.
"Oh wow! I really thought you were as powerful as me! Very disapointing!" Estill voice was loud and shooked the whole room.
BANG!Estill body shot directly downwards in a second, his foot was over Vince shoe instantly crushing them.
AHH! Vince groaned as his body was now stuck from Estill weight.
Vince gritted his teeth and raised his revolver, ignoring the burning pain in his foot. He fired. The golden bullet sliced through the air, silent and sharp, but Estill had already anticipated it. He tilted his head just enough, and the bullet missed by an inch.
I missed… I fucking missed!
Before Vince could even breathe, Estill's hand clamped around his waist. Effortlessly, he lifted Vince off the ground with one arm. Vince's heart dropped. Being lifted so easily could only mean one thing, if Estill decided to slam him, he'd die instantly.
From above, Vince looked down at Estill's twisted grin, then at his own foot, and froze.
Three of his toes were crushed together into a single mangled shape, held by scraps of skin and splintered bone. They dangled weakly, ready to fall off. The sight sent a sickening chill through his chest, but before he could react, Estill's grip tightened. Fingers dug into Vince's sides, slowly piercing his flesh.
"Oh, what made you think you could kill me?" Estill said, his voice trembling with laughter. "You've only gained one artifact, and you think that makes your body durable? Foolish."
He laughed louder, eyes wide and shaking. Vince could barely breathe. His body screamed in pain, his lungs crushed under Estill's grip. He knew he was weak. He'd always been weak. The word echoed in his mind, over and over.
Human.
Human.
Human.
"Tell me your name, young man," Estill said, his tone cracking as his sanity began to unravel.
Vince coughed, forcing out a trembling whisper. "I… I'm Roe."
Estill froze for a moment, then broke into hysterical laughter. "Roe! Roe! Roe! What a name for someone like you! Should I even call you a man? Your will is weak, your body fragile, your potential worthless! Only dreams could save you, only miracles!" He leaned closer, his voice slipping into madness.
"Now tell me, Roe. Who sent you to kill me?"
Vince's mind spun. I know I'm weak. I've always been weak. He saw flashes of his past, betraying the father and son, running from the truth, doing nothing to change. He could've told the police, fixed his life, but he didn't. He chased the church's promise of power instead. Even now, he thought of Adam, the man who ruined him. If I tell him it was Adam, would that save me? Or kill me faster?
His head pounded. His body trembled. He was exhausted, sleep-deprived, and fading. Maybe dying here wasn't the worst outcome.
Vince took a slow, shallow breath and spoke.
"T-T-The person that sent me w-w-was A, "
Suddenly, a white-hot pain shot through his skull. His voice died mid-word as invisible chains wrapped around his mind, tightening until his thoughts nearly burst. Vince's spine arched, his eyes wide in horror.
In that moment, he finally understood.
He wasn't just weak. He was bound a slave to a command he couldn't disobey.
