Chapter 188 - TOA 188: Cú Chulainn

Morpheus faced a horde of Celtic warriors, clad in ancient armor and wielding archaic weapons. Despite facing a single foe, they roared with unrelenting battle fervor.

They weren't human but war machines, driven by conflict and slaughter!

Their sheer numbers would take even a top-tier Servant time to defeat. These soldiers, far from ordinary, possessed superhuman strength!

In the distance, a figure stood, radiating unbridled, ferocious mana, like a beast poised to rampage. Recognizing the familiar yet altered face, Morpheus rolled his eyes.

"So it's really Cú Chulainn. Did he get a makeover or something?"

Morpheus muttered, eyeing the charging soldiers. A faint smirk curled his lips.

Raising his fire-aligned staff, flames began to gather.

"Brimstone and fire rained from heaven upon Sodom and Gomorrah, destroying those cities, the plain, all its inhabitants, and everything that grew on the ground."

Chanting scripture, fiery streaks appeared in the sky, transforming into blazing arrows that fell like meteors upon the enemy!

This magic recreated the biblical destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Though less potent than its mythical counterpart, it was more than enough to annihilate the charging foes.

Flames crashed into the ground, explosions echoing like countless high-caliber artillery shells.

The earth burned, flames raging across the surface, sulfur's stench filling the air as if hell's fires consumed human sin.

The tens of thousands of soldiers were wiped out, not a single survivor left. Even if their numbers multiplied tenfold, Morpheus was confident that strike would've sufficed.

After clearing the rabble, Morpheus adjusted his collar, extended his right hand toward the distant Mad King, and beckoned provocatively.

Mad King Cú Chulainn, a Berserker, differed from typical ones. He retained some rationality, not prone to blind rage. This Berserker was more akin to a tyrant.

Such a figure, the epitome of masculine aggression, couldn't tolerate provocation.

Seeing this stranger decimate his elite troops, Cú Chulainn's fury ignited. The taunting gesture and expression pushed him over the edge.

A surge of immense mana erupted, and he leapt, charging at breakneck speed!

The spiraling red spear from memory had changed, now a true lance, wreathed in dark crimson, exuding a beastly aura!

His speed surpassed a Lancer's, his physical strength amplified. As he swung the spear down, Morpheus knew the Holy Grail had enhanced him beyond his past self!

Boom!

The red spear clashed with Morpheus's bronze shortsword. The impact made the earth groan, a shockwave scattering the air!

The clash exceeded sonic speed, the violent force a result of their weapons' collision.

Cú Chulainn was surprised this human blocked his attack, but his battle instincts took over, switching tactics for a follow-up.

In an instant, he struck five times, each deftly dodged by Morpheus, unscathed.

Seeing his attacks evaded, Cú Chulainn growled low, as if chanting. A mental interference, like crashing waves, surged toward Morpheus.

But an invisible barrier halted it before it reached him, preventing any effect!

Morpheus's ring glowed faintly, mana surging within.

The Ring of Solomon, bearing sacred names, protected by the Lord, impervious to such forces!

Unaware, Cú Chulainn summoned runes... Lúgh's runes, embodying concepts like strength... that merged into his body.

His power surged. If his base strength was 1, it now reached at least 1.5.

Empowered, Cú Chulainn accelerated, weapon in hand, engaging Morpheus.

Their figures left afterimages across the battlefield, fading with time.

The air resounded with the clash of weapons, the booms causing nearby creatures to recoil in pain from the noise.

In a castle, a woman watched, her pink hair and enchanting figure goddess-like. Her eyes followed the combatants unblinkingly.

"Cú Chulainn's impressive, as expected of my chosen summon," She said gleefully, then glanced at the other figure. "But this guy's incredible, holding his own against such a Cú Chulainn for so long."

She plucked a grape, popping it into her mouth, enjoying the spectacle.

"He's human, right? But with Servant traits. So strange. His strength surpasses human limits. Even in my time, I never saw a human like this.

"Where did he come from? That spell earlier wiped out all nearby soldiers in an instant. Such destructive power, those terrifying flames... was it a Noble Phantasm? That staff he held?"

Medb mused, her gaze shifting between the two.

"Cú Chulainn's so dashing, my chosen man. But this mystery guy's handsome too, with a fierce puppy vibe. I just want to hug and pamper him.

"Who'd have thought I'd find such a prime man in this world? If I could beat the King of Magecraft, I'd tie him up, lock him away, and make him mine!"

She giggled, drooling slightly.

Despite her pure appearance, her expression was utterly lascivious.

The distant battle grew fiercer, both fighters unleashing their full might!

"Who are you?" Cú Chulainn demanded, growing more surprised and thrilled. A foe who could match him was exhilarating!

"Morpheus. Call me Morpheus. I'm here for one thing: to take the Holy Grail!"

"Your goal won't succeed!" Cú Chulainn roared, leaping back. Mana surged wildly, and his demonic spear erupted with power!

"Gáe Bolg, the Barbed Spear that Pierces with Death!"

The Noble Phantasm, invoked by its true name, became a black-red lance hurtling toward Morpheus.

A guaranteed hit, reversing cause and effect.

Once unleashed, it painted a future where the target's heart was pierced, then made it reality! Even Artoria's strength relied on instinct to dodge it!

Now, it charged at Morpheus!

He merely smiled, letting the attack come.

The crimson light, a deadly toxin, aimed for his heart. When the phantom and true spear aligned, the target would die.

But the mana-charged strike halted.

A blow that could shatter the gates of the underworld stopped before Morpheus, unable to advance!

Something blocked it, not even touching his clothes!

"Curses can ensure a hit, but your attack's different. It creates a false future, guiding your spear to fulfill it.

"It seems guaranteed, but it's not. It only succeeds when your spear truly observes the target's designated area.

"Sadly, your attack relies on raw power, and my defenses aren't something a mere Servant can brute-force.

"Your spear's body-destroying power can't take effect. Such a pity."

Morpheus smiled at Cú Chulainn's stunned face, explaining.

As he spoke, he raised his right hand, radiant light gathering into a greatsword. Gripping its hilt, he swung fiercely at Cú Chulainn.

Cú Chulainn dodged, the beastly aura on his spear intensifying. The lance morphed into red bone, enveloping him!

Layered bone armor, like a carapace, covered his body, making him a black-red humanoid beast, a bone tail sprouting behind!

In myth, Morpheus knew the spear, named for Curruid, wasn't made from its bones but from Coinchenn's, killed by Curruid, forged by Scáthach into a demonic spear.

But in Nasuverse, Cú Chulainn's spear seemed made from Curruid's bones, its power far beyond Coinchenn's.

The Mad King had become a humanoid Curruid, a ferocious sea beast!

His spear was gone, integrated into his armor, his claws and fangs now his weapons!

Facing this Cú Chulainn, Morpheus's eyes widened with excitement.

"Nice look! You should stick around... I'd love to study that body!"

The spell awakening the bone's original owner's consciousness, forming armor, was worth studying for new magic!

Thrilled, Morpheus summoned his four elemental weapons. Earth, wind, water, and fire swirled around him. Angelic power descended from beyond, boosting his strength exponentially.

He charged!

Boom!

Cú Chulainn couldn't dodge this direct strike. Morpheus's fist slammed into his armor, the black-red bones screeching as if grinding.

The immense force sent Cú Chulainn flying, surpassing sonic speed, hurtling toward the distant castle like a cannonball!

A figure, faster than his flight, intercepted him!

Morpheus reached Cú Chulainn, landing another punch, doubling his speed!

Carrying massive kinetic energy, he became a true projectile, crashing into the castle's thick walls!

Bang!

With a roar, the walls shuddered, dust scattering!

A massive hole appeared in the sturdy structure!
