When Knightwalker's spear shattered Fairy Tail's magic engine and the teleportation array failed to activate, the entire guild was plunged into despair and chaos.
They couldn't escape.
They were doomed.
Despair surged like a flood bursting through a dam, instantly breaking down everyone's mental defenses.
Even Lisanna wasn't immune. As an Earthland mage, she knew that here in Edolas, Aslant wizards couldn't use magic. Even if the ones outside really were Mira and Grandpa Pappy, without magic, they would never outrun the kingdom's soldiers.
As the guild wavered between surrender and fighting to the death, a sudden twist of fate appeared.
Outside, Mira's form transformed completely, unleashing an overwhelming, terrifying power. With a demonic, godlike presence towering over all, she raised her hand slightly—only for a torrent of devastating energy to obliterate half of the royal army in an instant.
Even the hunter, Knightwalker, was being forced back.
"Is that a power a human can wield?"
"We can win—she can win for us!"
Some marveled at the strength Mira displayed; others, almost without realizing, began to see Mira outside as one of their own.
As for Lisanna, her suspicions were confirmed beyond doubt. That was Mira's full-body takeover—her Satan Soul.
The two outside had to be her real sister and Grandpa Pappy from Earthland.
Relieved, Lisanna's heart tightened with worry. She wanted to run to her true sister, but she couldn't abandon the family she had in this world.
"If you plan on leaving, you may do so now."
A hollow, ethereal voice echoed through the wrecked guild hall. At some point, a figure with indistinct features had appeared, holding a book in his hands. On its cover was the motif of roots, an unmistakable mark of this world.
Levy's eyes shot to the teleportation console. Her notebook was gone.
"When did you—?!"
"Eh—the guild! It's back!" someone cried out in astonishment.
Only then did the others realize that, at some point, the ruined guild had been restored. The collapsed beams, shattered walls, and overturned furniture had all returned to their original state.
They hadn't noticed; their attention was fixed on the battle outside. Perhaps they were so familiar with their guild that they failed to register the subtle changes.
Now, as they looked around, everyone was completely unscathed. Even those who had been injured moments ago were suddenly whole, as though nothing had happened.
"Who are you?" Lucy stepped forward, wary eyes fixed on Pappy. The others might have seen the outside Mira as an ally, but Lucy still held on to her reason.
It didn't matter if it was the kingdom's army, the Mira outside, or this strange, unreadable being—in the end, all of them were strangers to Fairy Tail.
There was no bond, no trust.
"Pappy." He flipped through the stolen notebook without much interest before fixing his gaze on Lisanna.
"Your sister misses you dearly."
All eyes instantly shifted to Lisanna. MiraJane and this world's Elfman froze, expressions darkening with sudden shock.
Lisanna felt the crushing weight of all those stares. Her heart tightened, but now her guess was undeniable. She whispered:
"Grandpa… It's been a long time."
Pappy's eyes flicked toward the battle outside. "So, will you stay? Or will you come with us?"
Unlike Mira, Pappy cared nothing for this world's Fairy Tail. Whether they lived or died, whether the guild stood or fell—it was none of his concern. Restoring the building and saving their lives was nothing more than a gesture of respect for the name Fairy Tail. Beyond that, he felt no obligation.
Nothing more.
"What's going on, Lisanna?"
"You know this guy? What does he mean by 'stay' or 'leave'?" Lucy and Levy crowded closer, practically pressing their faces into Lisanna's. She leaned back, caught in their scrutiny.
Nearby, MiraJane's expression grew heavier. Her voice trembled as she murmured:
"Lisanna…"
"I… I don't know what to do." Lisanna bit her lip, torn apart inside. She had a sister in both worlds. Both loved her. Neither of them wanted to hurt.
"You don't have to rush." Pappy waved his hand.
A shimmering rectangle split the air before them. Inside, a moving image appeared—Mira's battle with Knightwalker.
Each clash unleashed shockwaves that threatened to tear apart the land. Craters riddled the earth like raindrops, as the two fought from sky to ground, blow for blow.
Fairy Tail's members stood slack-jawed. Their Edolas world had been drained of magic for so long that battles had always been about precision and economy. Firepower beyond control simply didn't exist.
Mira's wild, devastating style—hurling torrents of energy with every swing—was a kind of extravagance they had never seen before.
Onscreen, Knightwalker was starting to falter. Carelessness earlier had left her wounded, and the damage was showing.
"How fascinating… So magic is that much more abundant in your world." Knightwalker gasped for breath, bruised and battered, yet still smiling with provocation.
"What are you talking about?" Mira frowned.
Her opponent gave her a strange look.
"You mean… You don't know? You didn't come here to stop us?"
"Stop what?" Mira pressed, bewildered.
But Knightwalker offered no answer. Better that she didn't know. Much better.
"Heh."
Steadying her breath, she raised her spear and shouted:
"This will be my final strike. Be careful—if a mage like you dies here, it would be a waste."
"Holy Spear: World of Light!!"
Her weapon flared, a dazzling blaze erupting from its tip. The Ten Commandments' stored magic surged to its limit, the air itself trembling. Edolas's greatest creation, it was said that this strike could shake the world itself.
Sensing danger, Mira abandoned her questions and focused entirely on defense. Her claws formed a great circle, a black singularity emerging between them. Power surged into it, so immense that even light bent as it collapsed inward.
"Soul Extinction!!"
Darkness and radiance crashed together, birthing an unprecedented white point at their center. Space twisted—then came the explosion.
Blinding light. Infinite heat. Energy erupts in all directions.
The blast repelled the very air, carving out a vast vacuum. The shockwave ripped through forests, flattening trees by the thousands.
When the dust finally cleared, Knightwalker was on one knee, her body trembling, spear propping her up.
Behind her stood Mira, transformed once more.
Blue scales crept across half her face, fin-like ridges jutting out. Her arms, legs, tail, and even the wings on her back shimmered with azure plating. Her clothes had shifted into something like a striped swimsuit.
Satan Soul: Halphas.
Her savage claws rested against Knightwalker's throat. With just a little pressure, she could end it.
"You've lost."
"Yes, I have." Knightwalker collapsed onto her back, closing her eyes, ready to embrace death.
"Well? Are you going to kill me?"
Mira hesitated, then withdrew her hand. She gave her opponent a long, searching look.
"Go. But never raise your hand against Fairy Tail again."
A wry smile crossed Knightwalker's lips. "Heh… You think that'll make the kingdom spare you?"
She bit her tongue, stopping herself. This woman didn't know anything. Better not to expose the kingdom's plans.
"I can't speak for the kingdom. But I can promise this: I won't raise my weapon against Fairy Tail again."
Mira studied her for a moment longer, then nodded. Her wings spread, and in a streak of light, she soared away into the skies.
