Chapter 151 - Chapter 150: The North Blue

For Bardock and his crew, traveling from the East Blue to the North Blue was a remarkably simple endeavor: they simply had to fly directly over the Red Line.

Historically, crossing the Red Line without passing through Mary Geoise or Fish-Man Island was nearly impossible. The only other notable instance in recent memory involved the Vinsmoke Family—Sanji's blood relatives—who utilized their massive, amphibious snail-ship fleet to physically scale the Red Line, crossing into the East Blue to wage war against the Cozia Kingdom (the very conflict that ultimately led to Sanji being stranded in the East Blue).

However, with the White Dragon's flight capabilities, the journey was utterly effortless. After a smooth flight over the towering red continent, the golden galleon gently descended into the waters of the North Blue.

The North Blue was globally renowned for producing an absurd amount of top-tier talent. On the Marine side, it was the birthplace of two future Admirals: 'Akainu' Sakazuki and 'Kizaru' Borsalino. On the pirate side, it produced heavyweights like 'Flower Sword' Vista, Benn Beckman, the infamous Donquixote Family, and several of the future Supernovas. Furthermore, it was the home turf of the legendary Germa 66, the militaristic underworld syndicate ruled by the Vinsmoke Family—an organization so infamous it was literally the subject of popular comic strips.

"Captain Bardock! When are we going to visit the Lvneel Kingdom? Noland's hometown!" Mansherry and Leo asked simultaneously, their eyes sparkling with anticipation.

As Fairies of the Tontatta Tribe, their interest in the Lvneel Kingdom was entirely rooted in their absolute reverence for Mont Blanc Noland. They didn't care about the country's politics; they just had a burning desire to pilot the massive, solid gold White Dragon directly into Lvneel's capital to aggressively prove to the world that Noland wasn't a liar.

"I've already plotted the course on the map," Bardock smiled, fully supporting their petty agenda. "We'll arrive in the Lvneel Kingdom shortly. When we do, we'll parade the White Dragon right into their main harbor in broad daylight. Let those ignorant citizens witness exactly how blindingly radiant the gold Noland discovered truly is."

Bardock shared their sentiment entirely. His only regret was that they hadn't brought the 'Light of Shandora'—the Great Golden Bell—along with them. If they had, he would have loved to ring it so the descendants of Lvneel could hear the exact same chime Noland did 400 years ago.

"Speaking of local legends," Robin interjected, her eyes crinkling in amusement. "Are we going to run into Germa 66? And more importantly... do you happen to know the rest of their story?"

Robin was an avid reader of the World Economy News Paper, which meant she regularly followed the immensely popular serialized comic strip Sora, Warrior of the Sea—a highly dramatized propaganda piece featuring the Navy fighting the evil Germa 66. The current story arc was at a massive cliffhanger, and even the normally composed archaeologist was feeling the itch for spoilers.

"If you want comic spoilers, you'd be better off calling Morgans," Bardock chuckled. "But as for the actual Germa 66... yes, we will definitely be paying them a visit. I have some very specific business to conduct with them."

Bardock had a massive interest in the Vinsmoke Family's advanced cloning and 'Lineage Factor' genetics technology. Since they were a mobile, seafaring nation, they were notoriously difficult to track, but with Enel's Mantra and Robin's intelligence network, there was absolutely no way the Vinsmokes could hide from them.

KRA-BOOOOOM!

Suddenly, a deafening thunderclap ruptured the sky. In the distance, a massive, blinding pillar of lightning violently struck a heavily armed pirate ship that had been rapidly approaching the White Dragon.

The enemy ship's mast instantly shattered. Thick, choking black smoke billowed into the air, and violent flames rapidly engulfed the wooden hull.

Out on the open ocean, despite being surrounded by water, fire was an incredibly lethal hazard. If a crew didn't extinguish a blaze immediately, their ship would quickly be reduced to sinking charcoal. Tragically for this specific enemy crew, absolutely everyone on board had been instantly knocked unconscious (or outright killed) by the millions of volts coursing through the deck.

"Enel! What's the situation?" Bardock called out.

With a crackle of static, Enel instantly teleported onto the deck next to Bardock, looking supremely bored. "It was a pirate ship flying the Donquixote Family flag. They were aggressively charging toward us with their cannons prepped, clearly intending to rob us. I gave them a little El Thor (Divine Judgment) as a warning. Absolute trash! Not a single person on that ship possessed decent Haki!"

"What?! The Donquixote Family?!" Bardock's eyes went wide with sheer panic. "Quick! Put the fire out immediately!"

The rest of the crew exchanged highly confused glances. It was incredibly rare for Bardock to lose his composure like this.

"Is the Donquixote Family truly that terrifying?" Enel asked, raising an eyebrow at his Captain's sudden change in demeanor. "Are they going to send a monster after us?"

"What? No!" Bardock yelled frantically. "The Donquixote Family is absurdly rich! They hoard rare Devil Fruits! Don't let my damn loot burn to ashes!"

Without waiting for the crew's reaction, Bardock instantly summoned the Nimbus Cloud and aggressively rocketed toward the burning ship.

Standing on the deck of the White Dragon, the crew collectively deadpanned. 'Of course,' they thought. They should have known better. There was absolutely no enemy in the North Blue that could genuinely terrify their Captain; he was just being an absolute loot goblin.

By the time the White Dragon pulled up alongside the smoldering wreckage, Bardock had already completely extinguished the flames with massive bursts of wind and had forcefully ransacked the entire ship at terrifying speeds.

However, Bardock was currently standing on the charred deck, sighing in profound disappointment. He had been slightly too slow. Several treasure chests in the captain's quarters had been completely incinerated.

Losing some gold or Belly didn't bother him in the slightest, but failing to find a Devil Fruit left him incredibly annoyed.

Only by actively living in this world did one truly understand how obscenely rare Devil Fruits were in the wild. Even with meta-knowledge, finding them was nearly impossible. For example, back in the East Blue, Bardock had specifically tracked down Sixis Island (the desolate island where Ace famously found the Flare-Flare Fruit). They had spent days digging through the island's debris and brutally beating up the local giant birds, but they had found absolutely nothing.

Because Doflamingo was infamous for his massive underground Devil Fruit trade, Bardock had genuinely hoped to score an easy jackpot by looting one of his subordinate ships.

"Ah, what a waste," Bardock grumbled, kicking a charred piece of wood.

Since the enemy crew had already been electrocuted, suffocated by toxic smoke, and roasted by the fire, they were all completely dead. With no one left to interrogate for information on Doflamingo's current North Blue operations, Bardock simply drew Wado Ichimonji. With a casual flick of his wrist, he unleashed a fierce Flying Slash that cleaved the charred hull in half, permanently sinking the pirate ship into the icy depths of the North Blue.
