WHOOSH! A swing from a monster barely misses Kaito, narrowly dodging the attack before sliding away. "What are you aiming at?!" He taunts the beast.
The beasts was nothing but a low tier minotaur, but it was still dangerous, so it was important not to toy with it.
But that didn't stop Kaito from jumping around on barriers. "Dante, do your thing!" Kaito yells.
Dante comes running into the fight from behind a tree. He slides forwards on ice, freezing the beasts legs. "Nanami!" Dante yells.
Nanami types on her wrist weapons. Sliding into the battle on Dante's ice. She unleashed a devastating blast onto the minotaurs stomach, shattering it free of the ice slamming it into a nearby wall.
This does little to slow the beast and it roars. Slamming it's arms into the ground before once more charging forwards. "Guys dodge!" Kaito shouts.
Nanami rolls out of the way, analyzing the area where she struck the minotaur. Quickly she spots that the area is still bleeding. "Kaito, can you land an attack on the spot that I opened?!" Nanami calls.
Kaito nods with a smile. "Toni, help out with this one!"
With a quick strum on his guitar Toni begins playing. "Got your back friend!"
The aura from the music wraps around Kaito empowering him. He unsheaths his dagger, aiming an attack at this beasts open wound. With one deciding slash he cuts the minotaur down!
Kaito kneels to the body of the beast. Bowing his head low as it begins shifting into a.... staff.
This immediatly upsets all of them since they have no need for a weapon like this. Kaito decides he will just carry it around, since it wouldn't make sense to leave it here.
With the completion of their quest they return to the adventurers guild. Though they aren't happy to see him. "How many times do I have to repeat myself, you can't just show up and do whatever you see on the board, YOU. ARE. BLACKLIST!" They even dramatically point to the board. "We won't reward anything you do!"
Dante frustrated runs his eyes. "How are you blacklisted, you've been an adventurer for like two months."
Kaito just shrugs. "I don't know, maybe he's lying." The man from behind the counter seems to be foaming from the mouth in anger.
Nanami sighs. "This isn't much good for a guild if our captain is blacklist."
Kaito raises an eyebrow, confused by the statement. "How am I captain, we didn't even pick yet?"
"Are you truly this dense?"
"Well, I thought we would have a fight for who gets to be captain, and decide like that." Kaito responds.
Dante shakes his head. "Yeah, no."
Nanami also shakes her head. "I feel like I shouldn't gratify that with an answer."
And that's how Kaito became the guild leader, they all decided they wouldn't fight him and he won by unanimous decision.
As they're talking at the table a familair face walks towards them. "Hey newbies," Modus scans the table, before looking at Kaito. "Where's your mini me?"
Toni, who's snacking on some roasted peanuts answers. "She's off with the thieves guild." As Kaito sits trying to figure out how "Mini me" was meant to be taken.
Modus nods, "Right, right Trickster, is known to be in alot of guilds, but thieves guild is a sneaky bunch."
Dante isn't down to exactly be friendly with Modus, he's robbed him twice and given spotty info at best. "Why do we keep running into this guy everywhere?" Which fell on deaf ears, apparently since he was ignored.
Modus rubs Dante's hair. "Don't worry about it too much, i'm sure the shrimp will pop back up sooner or later." And then he leaves.
Dante shakes his head. "I can't stand that guy."
Kaito nods. "Probably because you're sitting down." Dante nearly lunged at Kaito from across the table.
Kaito then lowers his head. "But we're not a real guild until we have Rika back." He mentions. Bringing attention back to the fact that their friend was still missing.
Toni sighs. "Yeah but don't worry about it too much friend, I know we'll find her."
It's been two weeks since they departed from Nyla, they've searched for Rika non stop the first week, but just looking around for one of the elusive grooups of people there is with little to know leads is impossible. So now they're just traveling around, hoping to find her again.
Later in the night Kaito was finding himself upset about losing Rika, he never stopped thinking about her, he had started to make the group lunch boxes before they got back on the road. But every single time, he still made one for her. Every time he did, he had to remind herself that she wasn't there, only to repeat the same thing the next time they were in town.
So he would do what he always did when he was thinking too much, he would get up out of bed, and go train. He was just outside of the gates of this town. Now he was strong enough to knock his bow. So he took makeshift arrows and practiced firing. Each and everytime he would draw the string, was a workout in of itself, and when he released the shot it tore through the air shattering trees it would hit.
It did made him think sometimes, if this was supposed to be a phantasmal weapon, didn't Dante say there was six ranks above this one, and this one crushed trees like it was nothing, just how strong could these weapons be, how strong could HE be.
Then suddenly Kaito felt something that made him immediatly get on guard, he didn't know what but he was being watched. Kaito hadn't questioned his instincts, if they told him there was danger, he'd trust them.
But who walked, more so wobbled toward him was a drunk woman, with vibrant blue hair, and tattoos across every visable part of her body. "That's pretty impressive there kid, blasting through the trees, fighting monsters." She hicced.
"Lemme see something kid, get on guard!" The drunken woman said.
This situation was confusing Kaito, but one thing was for certain, this strange woman was strong, and Kaito never turned down a fight from a stronger opponent.
Once he was in his guard, she dashed toward him, the impossible speed was hard to read, and as Kaito raised his arms to block, he was already out cold on the ground.
The drunk woman takes another sip of whatever she's drinking. "Aw dang, thought you were stronger than that, well whatever I gotta get back to my guild hall anyways." She was disappointed by how easy he lost, but she left.
Kaito is awoken the next day, by a girl who is crouched above him casting heal artes and crying.
"Why're you crying?" He asked, ignoring his splitting headache.
Between her sobs she wipes her eyes. "My guild leader got drunk last night and she left me here, and it seems as though she beat you up too." She cries.
With the healing finished she stands. "I apologize for any trouble she caused you, I should start returning to the guild hall."
Before she could wander off too far, Kaito grabbed the timid girl by the leg. "I'm sorry to ask this, but could you please take me with you to your guild hall, I wanna beat your boss up!" He loudly declares to her.
The timid girl stammers not knowing how to respond to this insane request. "What?!"
