Chapter 7 - Chapter 5: The Serpent

BOOM!

An enormous explosion rocks the higer levels of the Science Research Tower in Tenrihines. The blast shakes the capital, and smoke pours upward as alarms blare.

High above, on the 90th floor, White Flash—a blur of speed and precision—appears in a split second. Flames roar around him as the building crumbles.

Police and firefighters rush to evacuate civilians, sirens echoing below. Through the fire, a monstrous snake-like demon emerges, towering and coiled. It hisses, its six arms gripping four jagged katanas.

With a shriek, it lunges straight for White Flash. In a blink, White Flash draws his twin electric short swords, blocking the strike mid-air. Sparks fly. The demon snarls and grabs him mid-spin, slamming him through a marble wall with brute force.

Meanwhile, deep in the STF Headquarters, the mood is light. Ian, Blade, and their longtime friend Vex, a famous streamer, are in the STF common room. The lights are dim, snacks scattered, and Vex's camera is rolling.

The trio is live, joking and playing a horror game on the screen. ALARM SOUNDS Red lights pulse. Everyone freezes.

Ian checks his communicator—an emergency response alert from the Capital. Blade standing up instantly, "Ian, that's us. We gotta move."

Ian grabbed his gear, "Vex, bring the camera." Vex is already packing up, excited, "We live-streaming a demon hunt?"

Ian- "We're giving your viewers a real show tonight."

The STF mini warship slices through the sky, engines blazing blue. It hovers just outside the flaming upper floors of the Science Research Tower—floor 90 engulfed in smoke and fire.

Ian, Blade, and Vex stand at the hatch, flames flickering in their reflections. Vex, adjusting his high-tech protective suit, glances at Ian nervously.

Vex- "You sure this suit's enough?"

Ian, without looking, "You'll be fine. Just don't do anything stupid."

The trio jumps into the inferno. Inside, smoke chokes the air, and flickering flames cast shadows over collapsed beams and melting walls. Blade spots White Flash, unconscious and bruised.

Blade, lifting him over his shoulder, "Found your boy. He's breathing."

Ian, dryly, "Seems like your student still needs work."

Blade, grim, "His ego's gonna get him killed if he doesn't wise up."

Just then— CRASH! The demon explodes through the smoke, six arms and four katanas glinting with blood. It dropkicks Ian, sending him flying through a burning console.

Blade charges in, but the demon grabs him mid-air and hurls him through a wall. Ian flips to his feet and dashes back, katana in hand, trading steel with the beast.

Sparks and flame dance with every clash. He manages to land a cut across the demon's chest. Blade, recovering, tosses Vex a plasma pistol.

Blade- "Shoot him when you get an opening."

Vex, gulping, "I'll try… Yo, stream, we workin' with the big dogs tonight!"

Suddenly, a flaming metal beam collapses—slamming into Vex and launching him out the shattered window. Blade zips forward in a blink, grabs him mid-air, and hurls him back onto the floor.

Blade, grinning, "You good?" Vex, gasping, "I think so… probably not."

Back inside, the demon snarls, then senses defeat. It slithers back into the smoke and disappears into the ruins.

On the ground level, cameras flash. Media and paparazzi swarm the trio as they exit the wreckage. Reporters shout questions.

Civilians cheer. Vex gives a thumbs-up to his still-streaming drone. Ian ignores them all. Blade walks right past.

Vex, quietly, "Let's just get back to HQ…" The warship takes off, disappearing into the sky—mission over, but questions just beginning.
