Chapter 57 - Chapter 57 Tsunade's thoughts

"Ino–Shika–Chō congratulates Lady Tsunade on taking a new student."

Nara Shikaku raised his hand, congratulating her on behalf of the other two.

"Ren, you must follow Tsunade-sensei and study hard from now on. Don't make your teacher angry."

Kana Maiko also breathed a sigh of relief, patting Ren's shoulder as she gave him a series of instructions.

"Hehehe, Ren-kun, congratulations to you."

Orochimaru's golden snake-like eyes watched Ren with interest, offering his congratulations.

"Kid, study hard with Tsunade, and you won't be short on benefits."

Jiraiya looked at Ren with a smile. Ever since Tsunade's younger brother, Senju Nawaki, accidentally fell into an Exploding Tag trap and was killed during the Second Ninja World War, she had been immersed in negative memories from time to time over the years. Now that she had taken a disciple, he hoped it would help her move on.

"Congratulations, Ren. X3"

These were the congratulations from Minato Namikaze, Uzumaki Kushina, and Uchiha Mikoto.

Yuhi Shinko and Sakumo Hatake simply nodded at Ren with smiles. Both of them, along with Kana Maiko, were among the elders Ren respected most. They were also happy for Ren that Tsunade was willing to take him in.

"Thank you, everyone. I will work hard."

Since Ren was holding Itachi, it was inconvenient for him to return the bow, so he could only stand up and give a slight bow in acknowledgement.

"Alright, sit down and eat first."

"Yes."

Ren nodded and sat back down. At this moment, Ren noticed that Itachi in his arms had been silent for a while. He looked down and saw that the little one had fallen asleep, curled up in a ball, eyes tightly shut. His small hands had loosened their grip on Ren's collar and were resting on his chest. Incredibly cute!

"Aunt Mikoto, Itachi seems to be asleep."

Ren lowered his voice and brought Itachi, who was in his arms, in front of Uchiha Mikoto. The others also lowered their voices to avoid waking the sleeping Itachi.

"Oh, come, give him to me. You've worked hard today, Ren."

Uchiha Mikoto carefully took Itachi from Ren's arms, then turned and walked into the house, holding Itachi.

"Phew."

Ren also breathed a sigh of relief. Carrying such a small child around required constant attention. If he accidentally bumped or bruised Itachi, he probably wouldn't be able to leave the Uchiha Clan territory today.

"Ren, you're here. We've been looking for you."

Ren turned his head. Standing in the distance were Kakashi and Obito. The two walked towards him together. When they got closer, they first bowed to the table full of important figures, then Obito looked at Ren and complained.

"Sorry, then let's go over now."

Ren turned to Kana Maiko and his teacher, seeking their permission.

"Go on, but don't argue with your companions."

Kana Maiko smiled, and Tsunade next to her also nodded, signalling that Ren could go.

"Yes, then I'll go over now."

After greeting everyone, the three went to another table where the teenagers were seated: Ryufeng, Obito, Shisui, Asuma, Kakashi, and Kurenai, making a total of seven people including Ren.

Originally, almost all of Konoha's top prospects were in the elite class. Those invited by the Uchiha were also from Konoha's major clans and some powerful Ninja, like Sakumo Hatake. At a table in the distance sat several Hyuga youths. Because the Uchiha Clan and the Hyuga Clan had always disliked each other, those youths couldn't chat with Asuma and the others, so they simply sat separately, out of sight, out of mind.

"By the way, Ren, I saw you bowing to Lady Tsunade earlier. What happened?"

As soon as Ren sat down, Obito leaned over and stared at Ren, asking. The others also looked at Ren curiously.

"Oh, nothing much, just that I'll be learning Medical Ninjutsu from Tsunade-sensei from now on."

After saying that, Ren ignored them and picked up his chopsticks, starting to pick up food. Honestly, taking care of a child was quite tiring, and he hadn't eaten breakfast either. Now, Ren's eyes were only on the dishes on the table.

"Eh?! X6"

After a brief moment of stunned silence, they all exclaimed in unison.

"Tsunade-sensei? Are you serious?!"

Asuma rushed to Ren's front, shouting excitedly.

"Lady Tsunade is Ren's teacher… how amazing."

Kurenai next to him looked at Ren with stars in her eyes.

Meanwhile, Ryufeng, Shisui, and Kakashi's eyes flickered with strong fighting spirit. Ren was already stronger than them, and now he had taken one of the "Legendary Sannin" as his master. If they didn't work hard, they might be left far behind by Ren. This was intolerable for them, who were also geniuses.

"What's wrong? Why are you making such a fuss? Hokage-sama is your father, and the Sannin are Hokage-sama's disciples. You, the son of the Hokage, the second young master of the Sarutobi Clan. When I take a master's, others are envious, jealous, and hateful. Do you have a right to be?"

Ren swallowed a mouthful of rice, rolled his eyes at Asuma, and with one sentence, completely stunned Asuma.

It seemed that this was indeed the case. "Am I really that amazing? Thinking about it, I really don't need to envy him. I, Asuma Sarutobi, am the richest, handsome, and powerful of the Ninja World!"

Thinking this, Asuma instantly felt confident again and patted Ren's shoulder.

Leaving a remark, "Study hard with Lady Tsunade, I have high hopes for you," he then sat back down.

"Hmm?"

The others looked at Asuma's calm expression with a strange look.

"Good heavens, Ren fooled you with just two sentences, and you believed him! Half the people at this table could beat you up. No matter how impressive your identity, your strength needs to be up to par."

After some playful banter, a few of them were leisurely chatting together when Ren suddenly noticed that it had grown dark above his head. Kakashi and the others had quieted down, and even Asuma and Obito, who had been playfully bickering, were now sitting upright.

Ren looked up, and his attention was immediately drawn to a dazzling white. A moment later, Ren looked up again, and sure enough, it was his newly appointed teacher, Tsunade.

"Are you done eating? If so, let's go."

"Coming, Tsunade-sensei. Everyone, I'm leaving first."

After Tsunade finished speaking, she turned and walked out. Ren waved to the others, bidding them farewell. He then followed Tsunade, leaving the courtyard.

Only the others remained, sitting there, looking at each other…

Seventh Training Ground.

"I heard you've learned quite a bit."

Tsunade looked at her newly accepted student, her gaze somewhat complex. She recalled how earlier she had chatted with a few people about Ren to learn more about him.

Jiraiya said that Ren was learning Sage Mode from Mount Myōboku. Then Yuhi Shinko said he was teaching Ren Genjutsu. Immediately after, Orochimaru said that Ren was his experimental assistant and that he was teaching him Ninjutsu. Finally, Sakumo added that Ren had also been consistently training in Taijutsu with his classmates for several years.

Tsunade was now a bit hesitant, as she didn't know if she should teach this child. Although his talent was excellent, Sakumo Hatake had also told her that Ren had defeated Kakashi.

However, a person's energy is limited. In the Ninja World, no one is an all-rounder. Even Kage-level powerhouses at the top of the pyramid are no exception, for example: the Third and Fourth Raikage who specialise in Taijutsu, the Third Hokage who specialises in Ninjutsu, and so on.

Tsunade crossed her arms, waiting for his reply.
