"Ara ara, Xenovia and Irina still haven't shown up. Tenra, did you go a little too far with them?"
Kuroka and the other girls shot Tenra teasing glances, their voices dripping with playful mischief. He could only cough awkwardly, feeling the heat creep up his neck.
Most of them had gotten used to these household antics, but Ravel—still new to the chaos—couldn't hide her embarrassment for her shameless big brother.
"Geez, Onii-sama!"
Whether it was Yubelluna's crowd or Rias's peerage, Ravel suspected that sooner or later, every beautiful girl in this house would fall victim to her scoundrel brother's charms. She'd only been here a few days, but already she understood this much.
The girls' laughter rang out, leaving Tenra even more flustered. He cleared his throat, gently patting Ravel's forehead.
"Ravel, your Onii-sama is a normal guy. He's got needs—that's just how it is."
Not wanting the conversation to spiral any further, Tenra slid between Rias and Koneko, steering things back on track.
"So, what's going on, Rias?"
For everyone to be gathered this early, something serious must have happened. Tenra's tone grew solemn.
"See for yourself," Rias replied, rolling her eyes and pulling up two video files.
The screens flickered to life, showing matches from the ongoing Rating Game tournament. Tenra's team had already finished their round, but the other young devils were still battling it out.
The first recording featured Sairaorg, matched against Zephyrdor Glasya-Labolas—the notorious troublemaker of the Glasya-Labolas family. Zephyrdor's personality was a disaster, but his power was undeniable—one of the strongest among the new generation. Unfortunately, luck wasn't on his side. Facing Sairaorg right out of the gate, and with his rotten attitude, both his peerage and himself got wiped out in minutes.
The second video was Seekvaira's match. To Tenra's surprise, her opponent was Diodora.
Thanks to Tenra's intervention in the past, Diodora had shed his inferiority complex—but that only fueled his obsession with revenge. Now, his strength far surpassed what it should have been at this point in the original timeline. But Seekvaira was no pushover—Agares family prodigy and one of the Four Great Young Devils, her mastery of time magic put her on par with anyone. Tenra figured that even if she couldn't win, she'd at least hold her own.
And at first, she did. The fight was fierce and evenly matched—neither could gain the upper hand. But then, everything changed. Diodora unleashed a strange, overwhelming power and swiftly crushed Seekvaira.
The footage was crystal clear. Even after she was down, Diodora attacked Seekvaira mercilessly—just because she was Tenra's friend. Then, he turned to the camera, lips moving in a silent threat.
No sound, but Tenra understood instantly.
"Tenra Kamiyo, I'm waiting for you!"
Tenra's eyes narrowed, a cold, dangerous aura radiating from him. The room fell silent; everyone understood how serious this was.
"Is Seekvaira alright, Rias?"
Tenra forced his aura back down, voice returning to normal.
"She's still recovering, but she'll be fine," Rias answered.
"And what's your plan, Tenra?"
Diodora's provocation was infuriating. Even Rias and the others were visibly upset.
"What do you think? He dares to challenge me and hurt my friends—he'll pay for it."
Tenra's smile was icy, his eyes flashing with resolve.
If Diodora had just stayed out of his way, Tenra wouldn't have bothered with him. But he insisted on poking the dragon, clinging like a vengeful ghost. Fine—Tenra would make him regret it. Time for a complete resolution.
"Rias, the second round should be starting soon, right?"
Tenra turned to her, a plan forming.
"Yeah, the first round's done. According to Underworld rules, the winners move on to the second round in three days."
"Perfect. Ask Sirzechs to arrange for me and Diodora to face off in the opening match."
"That shouldn't be a problem, but we should investigate that strange power Diodora used first."
Rias was confident in Tenra, but she was careful.
"That's Ophis's power, nya," Kuroka chimed in lazily from the side.
"Ophis?!" Rias and the girls stared, stunned.
If Diodora really had Ophis's power, this was no joke.
"That Astaroth brat joined the Khaos Brigade ages ago. Katerea was the one who lured him in, nya," Kuroka added, still fussing with Koneko's hair.
She didn't much care about politics, but as part of the household, she shared what she knew.
"I can't believe Diodora's already joined the Khaos Brigade. I need to report this to my brother!"
Rias, shocked, reached for her phone—but Tenra stopped her.
"No need to rush, Rias. If we can see it, you can bet Sirzechs already knows."
"Then why hasn't he done anything?"
Rias frowned, confused.
"If Diodora's flaunting Ophis's power, the Khaos Brigade must be planning something big. Sirzechs and the other leaders probably have their own strategies. We shouldn't interfere and risk messing things up for them."
Tenra sounded perfectly logical, but the truth was, he had no idea what Sirzechs was planning—he just didn't want Diodora taken out of his reach.
If Diodora had thrown in with the Khaos Brigade, Tenra finally had a legitimate reason to eliminate him—he wasn't about to let anyone steal that chance.
"So what should we do?"
Rias nodded, buying into Tenra's reasoning.
"Nothing. Just stick to our own plan."
"Rias, you arrange the match with Sirzechs. I'll handle Diodora—and expose his betrayal myself."
"Alright!"
With the decision made, Rias immediately contacted Sirzechs. Tenra stretched, anticipation in his eyes.
Even if Diodora had Ophis's power, Tenra was confident he could win. Still, even a lion uses all its strength to hunt a rabbit. Know your enemy, know yourself—never lose. Time to dig into Diodora's situation.
