After leaving the student council room, Yubelluna was whisked away by Sona's people—apparently, teacher orientation couldn't wait. Iru and Neru, still too young for high school, were assigned to the middle school division. Mira, a little older, ended up in first-year high school. The remaining girls—Kalamaina, Minami, and the rest—joined Tenra in third year, sharing a class with Rias and Akeno.
The group first dropped off the Iru and Neru sisters at the middle school building, then made their way to Mira's new classroom. Rias called out at the door, and a girl stepped out to greet them.
Short silver hair, still petite, her expression unreadable—Koneko Toujou, Rias's other servant.
"Koneko, Mira's one of Tenra's. She's in your class now. Help her settle in, won't you?"
Rias affectionately patted Koneko's forehead.
"Understood, President."
Koneko's voice was gentle, her nod obedient. She glanced at Mira, then her gaze lingered on Tenra.
"So you're Koneko-chan. I've heard good things. I'm trusting you with Mira."
Tenra smiled warmly, sizing up the girl.
He recalled Koneko's reputation: survivor of the strongest nekomata clan, descendant of high-level youkai, a master of senjutsu. His own nekomata servants, the Ni and Ri sisters, couldn't compare—Koneko's bloodline and talent were in a league of their own.
"Yes, Tenra-senpai."
Not much for small talk, Koneko replied simply.
She paid Tenra extra attention—thanks to Akeno's influence, perhaps. After this brief meeting, she'd already formed her impression:
Not bad. Not annoying.
With the bell about to ring, the group didn't linger. Mira was entrusted to Koneko, and the rest headed for Rias and Akeno's classroom.
Tenra's arrival, flanked by his entourage, caused a stir. Even Rias looked a little put out—Tenra seemed to draw more attention than the school's reigning idol, especially from the girls.
He greeted them all with a cheerful smile, basking in their adoration. If this was how school life was going to be, Tenra was ready to enjoy every minute.
Evening, Kamiyo Residence
"Uh, excuse me… I'm Issei Hyoudou."
After a long battle with his nerves, Issei finally knocked on the Kamiyo family's front door.
Honestly, he hadn't wanted to come. Something in his gut warned him—getting too close to Tenra was dangerous. But the thought of all those beautiful, adorable girls proved too much for his resolve.
So here he was. What's the worst that could happen? Tenra was just a good-looking guy with a rich family. He couldn't eat him alive, right? For the sake of the cute girls—and that busty onee-san—Issei would brave even a dragon's den.
The door clicked open. Two girls in maid outfits—Brent and Maru—stood before him.
"Welcome, Issei-sama. Our master has been expecting you."
Gone was the morning's cold indifference; now their smiles were dazzling, their hospitality almost overwhelming.
Issei stared, eyes wide.
"M-Maids?!"
Was he hallucinating? No—these were real maids. Not manga, not daydreams, but actual, living maids.
"Yes, we're Tenra-sama's maids."
Brent and Maru beamed, though a hint of mockery flashed in their eyes.
Country bumpkin, they thought. So what if he had a powerful Longinus? In the end, he'd still be making wedding clothes for their master.
"Please, Issei-sama, come inside."
Thinking of their master's plans, the maids didn't waste any more time, ushering Issei in with infectious enthusiasm.
Issei felt dizzy. Beautiful maids, a mansion fit for royalty—luxury everywhere he looked. He couldn't help but curse his fate.
He hated handsome guys. He hated life's winners. He hated this unfair world.
"Issei-kun, you made it."
In the living room, Tenra and Yubelluna's group were deep in conversation. Seeing Issei, Tenra stood to greet him.
"Good evening, Tenra-kun. Everyone."
"Heh… haha… Just a little something. Nothing fancy."
Issei handed over a small gift, embarrassed by its modesty. Take it or leave it, he thought.
"Issei-kun, you're too kind. Maru, take care of Issei-kun's present."
"Yes, Tenra-sama."
"You've come at the perfect time, Issei-kun. We're just about to have dinner. Join us."
Tenra's smile was dazzling—almost too much. Issei felt out of place, but he hadn't come for food; he'd come for the girls.
His gaze drifted over Yubelluna's group, lingering a little too long. Still, he accepted the invitation, and everyone took their seats.
Soon, Brent and Maru brought out the tableware. Dish after dish of sumptuous cuisine filled the table.
Issei copied the others, fumbling with his utensils, and took a bite of something unfamiliar.
He froze.
Delicious—unbelievably delicious.
Every dish was a new adventure in flavor, and the mysterious red wine tasted like nectar from the gods.
Tenra and the girls ate with effortless grace, but Issei wolfed down his food, etiquette be damned. Iru and Neru teased him mercilessly, but Issei was shameless—he even chatted with the two chainsaw-loli sisters.
No one expected Issei to act like a noble. The atmosphere was lively, full of laughter and teasing.
Issei wondered why everyone was suddenly so friendly. He couldn't figure it out, but quickly decided he didn't care. Wasn't this exactly what he wanted? As long as he could get closer to these beautiful girls…
Dinner lasted over an hour. When it ended, Maru and Brent cleared the table and brought out dessert. Issei, stuffed to the brim, sprawled in his chair, unwilling to move.
Eyes closed, face blissful, surrounded by luxury and lovely women—life at the Kamiyo house made Issei question everything.
If this was how normal people lived, what did that make his old life?
A dog's life?
Damn those lucky bastards.
Tenra watched Issei's reaction with a knowing smile. The stage was set…
To be continued…
