Chapter 48 - Chapter 48

"This is… this will change a lot of things."

I can already hear Roboute's mind working overtime from the five-hundred-page books I give to him. Watching Primarch read through five-hundred-page books in less than five minutes is a sight to behold.

"Yes. The Teleportation Gate will be invaluable. However, as you can see, it will cause a problem in the long run for us."

He nods his head, understanding what I am saying.

"The Navigator. They will not be needed if we build these portals across the Imperium. We cannot have a civil war when we have bigger issues approaching."

"Yup. However, I have a solution."

"Tell me."

I nod and take out another book for him to read. He takes the books and opens one of them.

"We can still use the Teleportation Gate, but instead of creating a wormhole that connects two teleportation beacons, we can use Hyperspace instead."

I flick my hand and summon a hologram for him to see while he also reads the book in his hand.

"Hyperspace is a space in between Realspace and the Immaterium."

And I already proved they exist by experimenting in my workshop over the past three days. Even the Custodes who guard me witness the success of my experiment. I manage to open a portal to Hyperspace and almost get sucked into the dimension if not for one of the Custodes grabbing me.

"Unlike the Warp, we cannot use the entirety of Hyperspace. We need to follow the Hyper-lanes that naturally appear in the Hyperspace. It is like sailing on a boat. We need to follow the wind."

"And to know the direction of the Hyperspace, you need to see where the lanes are located. That makes sure Navigators have their job and reduces the risk because they do not look into the Warp."

Roboute put down the book and finished reading it.

"However, this does not say anything regarding the Navigators' ability to see into this place and see the lanes. It only says that you have a device that can locate the lanes."

"That is true. That is why I want to ask you to take Navigators and open a portal to Hyperspace so they can look into the realm."

"I will allow it. By the look of it, you already built the foundation for the device, correct?"

"Yup! We only need to attach it and start the test."

==| Line Break |==

We wait on the bridge of Macragge's Honour for the test Escort ship. Roboute and I stood on the bridge with a group of Mechanicus working around us. They make sure to watch over the change in space and notify me when the escort ship returns.

"We notice a distortion, O Omnissiah."

One of the Tech Priests suddenly announced.

"This is the Escort Ship, Vell's Wings. They will arrive in three… two… one…"

At the end of his countdown, we can see a ship appear in a flash of blue, and I take the vox in front of me.

"Connect me to the ship."

"You are connected, O Omnissiah."

I nod and say.

"This is Kael, the Overlord of the Moebian System. Can you hear me, Vell's Wings?"

"Greetings, Your Holiness! We are safe and have proven the Hyperdrive is working as intended. Currently, Lady Navigator, Kalun Endo'or, charted all the lanes we encountered in our journey."

"Perfect. You can now enter Macragge's Honour and tell us directly."

"Yes, Your Holiness."

When the line is dead, we wait for a few more minutes before the group arrives at the bridge. After a formal greeting, the navigator walks toward us and turns on the data slate in her hand, showing a hologram.

"I have built the lanes we encounter in our path, Divine Lord Primarch, Your Holiness."

I can see the Roboute expression change for a second, but do not show it to the others. Just like him, I also don't like being called 'Holiness', 'Holy Saint', 'Saint Kael', 'Holy Leader', and 'Holy Overlord'.

"How is your journey, Lady Navigator?"

"The Hyperspace is different from the Warp, My Lord Primarch. It is cleaner, brighter, and faster as long as we follow the lane. I can see why we need to use the lane; outside it, I can see stagnation. I don't know if we can move in that area, but I think we cannot move if we enter that area."

"I see. Can you leave the Hyperspace in the middle of the lane?"

"Yes. We try that, and we appear 642,983 kilometers from Haxorn. We can see where the planet is and prepare to leave if we time the drive correctly. However, it is easier when you have a beacon like the Holy Saint put outside."

Good. It looks like the beacon is working correctly. With this, they will have an easier time arriving on planets instead of doing a blind jump.

"Give me your honest opinion of this way of travel, Lady Navigator. Can this be used for the greater Imperium?"

She hesitates for a second before saying.

"Not at the moment, My Lord Primarch. We need to chart all the lanes first before we can use this across the Imperium. We also don't know whether the lanes are affected by the Cicatrix Maledictum. At the moment, it is not enough for us to use this on the Greater Imperium. However, it will be a boon for Sectors across the galaxy. It will make trade easier and safer. That means faster reinforcement from one system to another or from one sector to another."

"That is more than enough."

Just like that, we start another big project. This time, it will connect the planets for easier access.

|3rd POV|

The Emperor of Mankind looks at the report in front of him with a frown. This is what he plans when he is reborn. He plans to reunite his sons, but all the missing sons are currently unreachable.

Vulkan, the kindest of all, is still regenerating. Just like him, he is a Perpetual. He cannot die unless killed with a specific means. However, it takes time to regenerate, and each time he dies, it takes longer.

He can see that Vulkan dies three more times. He can get a glimpse of how he died, and each of them died in battle. The four cancers try to prevent Vulkan from joining his legion and keep sending Daemons to his regeneration point, trying to kill the Lord of the Salamander.

Vulkan fights, and he fights well. He makes sure to kill every Daemon attacking him before falling to his injuries.

He cannot do anything about his son at the moment. He can feel that his regeneration will take a decade. He will make sure to be the one to greet him when he is done regenerating.

Leman Russ is currently trapped. He is trapped in the warp, on a planet filled to the brim with Warp Creatures. It is a cage created by the four cancers to create an illusion for Leman. The Wolf King is trapped in a cage of endless hunt.

The Wolf King lost because he is now a lone wolf instead of the king of a pack. He cannot retrieve Leman, for he needs extensive preparation to enter the Deep Warp and bring him back. It will take more than a decade to have him ready.

Corvus Corax does not want to be retrieved. He is so absorbed by the promise he made a long time ago that he ignores his call. His mind is as sharp as a sword, but it only focuses on one thing: the Death of Lorgar.

That leaves him with Jaghatai Khan. The Khan is currently trapped in the middle of the Dark City, and gathering his own force from all the slaves the Dark Eldar gather in that city. He wants to march there, but he knows that attacking that place is hard.

Even when he can activate a Webway Gateway, he doesn't know how to reach that place. Only the Eldari know how to navigate the Webway Dimension.

He snaps from his thoughts as he feels a 'knock' in the warp. It is an invitation for him. He digs deeper and sees an Eldari woman standing on the edge of the Red Void, his Old Friend using some kind of Old Artifact.

He frowned a little and weighed his choice. In the past, he would charge ahead, thinking his psychic might would carry him anywhere he wanted. However, he is no longer that person. He is learning and decides to let go of his arrogance.

Even with massive power, you are not invincible.

After a few seconds of thinking, he decides to accept the invitation and dive through the warp. His projection appears in the warp and flies through the chaotic sea to the Red Void, where the four cancers cannot influence the area.

He blinks for a second when he reaches the Red Void because he can feel the divinity he does not want and need disappear from his soul, leaving him wholly human.

"This is…"

He can feel the abomination created from countless humans worshipping him leave his soul and change his nature. Here? He is human and not a God.

"Strange, isn't it?"

He turns around and sees an Eldar woman wearing green. Her green hair flows down her shoulders and reaches her feet. Her hourglass figure will make any human male drool, and her beautiful face will make any human uncomfortable with how beautiful it is.

However, he is not a regular human. He is the Emperor of Mankind.

"Who are you, Xeno?"

"Quite rude, aren't you? I've lived longer than you, boy, and I do not call you Mon-Keigh."

"What do you want?"

He will not apologize, not to a race that he knows does worse things to others. He knows that this woman is not a Dark Eldar, but they are the same race.

He hears her humming and says.

"My name is Isha, and I invite you here to help you."

"What is it in you? I know your kind, Isha. You will not do anything for free and rather manipulate others to do your bidding."

"That is true. In exchange for us helping you reach Commorragh or the Dark City, as you know them, and help rescue your stranded son, I want to meet with the Red Dragon Emperor and the Bringer of Red Silence."

"What do you want from him?"

He will not let a Xeno try and do something to his Old Friend, even though said old friend was rather vocal about how he wanted to bang some Eldar in the past.

"Nothing. I only want to meet someone who helped me face-to-face. Is that truly hard to believe?"

He frowns at her words. He wants to punch through her mind and find the truth. However, he knows that the woman in front of him is strong. He is confident in his Psychic strength, but he knows that she will put up a good fight.

He thinks for a few seconds before saying.

"Very well. Rescue my son first."

"That is fair."

He can feel a shift in the warp, and he prepares to blast any attacker. A second later, a group of Eldars appears next to the woman. All of them were wearing clown-like outfits and wearing demonic-looking masks. He knows them, but this is the first time he sees them this close.

"You know them, right? They will be the ones leading you to the Dark City and helping you rescue your Son."
