Chapter 9 - THE ROYAL ARRIVAL

The last bell of the day rang, spilling students into the courtyard like a restless tide. Laughter, chatter, and hurried footsteps filled the air—until a sleek, black royal car glided to a halt at the college gates. Its presence alone silenced the crowd.

From the back seat stepped a man cloaked in power—every line of his posture demanding reverence. His eyes swept over the courtyard, ignoring the murmurs, the stares, and the whispers, until they landed on one person. Alpha Theodore.

The crowd parted instinctively as the man walked straight toward him, the weight of his authority pressing down on everyone around. Conversations died mid-sentence. Even the birds above seemed to hold their flight.

Theodore lowered his head with respect, but when the man spoke, the words carried not just authority—but something deeper, older, almost royal.

"My child," he said.

And Theodore answered softly, his voice echoing in the stillness, "Father."

The crowd gasped. Few had ever seen the reigning Alpha in person. Fewer still had heard him address his heir.

His father's voice rolled like thunder, yet it carried a promise.

"In two nights, at Lunaris Hall, the Moon Goddess shall descend her blessing. There, your Luna will be revealed to you. She will be the heart to your strength, the light to your shadow—the mother of a pack that will rise stronger than any before."

The silence that followed was absolute. Every student, every friend, stood with heads bowed—not daring to lift their eyes, though each thought the same. What if his heart still belongs to Isabella?

Isabella was confused on hearing Moon Goddess and other things too .She was the only human there ..

Meanwhile Isabella had been watching, rooted to the spot, unable to look away from him. The weight of the moment pressed on her chest, but her eyes—dark and steady—clung to Theodore's.

And then—it happened.

A flicker. A shimmer. Like the world itself had glitched. For the briefest heartbeat, Theodore saw her eyes blaze not with their usual shade, but with a luminous violet—deep, otherworldly, as though the Moon Goddess herself was staring through her.

His breath caught.

The flame within him stirred, violent and hungry. He looked away only to master himself, but when his gaze returned to her, the violet had vanished. Her eyes were simply her own again—wide, uncertain, trembling.

Theodore said nothing. He only cast her one last glance, so sharp it carved into her soul, before following his father toward the waiting car.

The doors shut with a hush.

Inside, a smaller voice piped up. His younger brother, eyes gleaming with curiosity, leaned forward.

"Brother… I heard you're getting your Luna soon. Will you find her before the event? Please… I want to see her first."

Theodore looked out the window, the moonlight catching the edge of his jaw. His thoughts, however, lingered not on the ceremony, nor on the blessings. They lingered on Isabella. On that fleeting violet fire in her eyes.

A secret only he had seen.

A truth the Moon Goddess had begun to whisper.
