Police tape had been strung up across the entrance of the bar.
Medical personnel, carrying stretchers, were transporting people to the hospital in batches.
Prioritize the critically injured?
They're all damn critically injured!
When Inspector Megure and his team arrived, a large number of officers had already secured the scene.
"Inspector, the headcount is complete. Including this man, there are a total of 148 people at the scene," an officer reported, pointing to the Terashima Group member who was still squatting by the door, looking terrified.
Reportedly, after the Dark Knight went inside, he had ordered this man to watch the door.
Inspector Megure glanced at him and signaled for Takagi to question him.
"Aside from that, Terasaki Gentaro has also disappeared along with the Dark Knight," the officer said as he led Inspector Megure, Sato, and the others into the scene.
Even without looking at the wounded being carried out on stretchers, just the two bloody handprints on the bar's glass doors were frightening enough.
Inspector Megure had seen plenty of big scenes, but upon entering the bar, his heart couldn't help but pound wildly.
It was hard to tell if anyone was dead. Aside from those in police uniforms and white coats, no one else was left standing.
Every few steps, there was someone lying on the ground, life or death uncertain, amidst bloodstains everywhere.
And this was the situation after the ambulances had already taken a batch of people away.
"Is it confirmed that it was only the Dark Knight alone?" Officer Sato asked with a frown.
Even with high martial prowess, wouldn't he be exhausted being besieged by so many people?
Although this wasn't the first time they were cleaning up his mess, it was still unbelievable.
"Yes, the man who was watching the door can testify to that," the officer nodded.
Ridiculous, right?
"These bullet holes?" Inspector Megure's gaze sharpened as he discovered bullet holes in the seats nearby.
"Based on preliminary assessment, at least five pistols were fired at the scene," a forensics officer approached, still taking notes.
Actually, they had found more than five pistols on the ground and on the group members. There were even other types of firearms upstairs.
"Were all the bullets fired?" Officer Sato found other bullet holes and asked curiously.
Can he really dodge them?
"Well, actually, it wasn't quite like that. Three people seem to have been killed by friendly fire," the forensics officer pointed out several individuals who had died on the spot.
Clearly, these three unlucky souls had been used as human shields by the Dark Knight.
Of course, it was undeniable that the man had indeed dodged many bullets in an almost inhuman manner.
"So, the target this time was likely Terasaki Gentaro?" Inspector Megure checked on the condition of the wounded.
Every time the Dark Knight caused a stir, he put enormous pressure on the hospitals.
However, this time his actions were definitely heavier than before.
Is there some grudge involved?
"Yes. Although the specific situation is unclear, he was indeed taken away from the back door by the Dark Knight," the officer nodded. There were eyewitnesses for this as well.
Reportedly, the man in black who had single-handedly fought over a hundred people showed no signs of injury and was carrying a middle-aged man covered in blood with one hand.
"Inspector Megure, we've got the details. It matches the previous information. The Dark Knight not only made him watch the door, but the subsequent call to the police was also made by him on the Knight's orders."
Officer Takagi ran into the bar, startled by the gruesome scene before him. After calming himself, he reported.
This knight who had helped him escape the burning warehouse was truly terrifying!
"I see. He often does things like this..." Inspector Megure rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on.
Creating so many casualties... this was a huge incident.
"Inspector, the specific vehicle information has been distributed." The officer flipped through the documents in his hand and handed them to the headache-ridden Inspector Megure.
The suspect was driving a silver-grey van.
Although the owner's information had been found, it looked like the vehicle might have been obtained by the suspect from somewhere else.
"Let's start the pursuit operation." Inspector Megure let out a long breath and led Sato and Takagi out of the bar, where the air was thick with the smell of blood.
Looks like another night of overtime. No sleeping at home tonight...
"Remember what I told you."
Tsuneo had switched cars. He dumped two people, tied up like dumplings, at the door of a house. Glancing at the unconscious Terasaki Gentaro, he spoke to the former truck driver, Miyata Kazuo.
Miyata Kazuo's mouth was taped shut, so he couldn't speak. With a terrified expression, he nodded clumsily.
I promise! Even if I die, I'll die in prison! I'll absolutely never come out!
Tsuneo confirmed that the two couldn't move or make a sound, then drove off into the night.
Only when the car was far away did Miyata Kazuo dare to slowly try to move his body. Leaning against the wall, his eyes stared blankly at his boss.
The man had been dragged out of that bar.
Miyata Kazuo knew the Terashima Group was finished.
Moreover, there were police cars everywhere on the road; he didn't know the exact situation.
"Mizumoto..." Miyata Kazuo struggled to lift his head, glancing at the nameplate on the house's gate, a look of "as expected" appearing on his face.
This Dark Knight had come to exact revenge for that child.
Morning.
Tsuneo crawled out of bed, poured a glass of water, and looked out the window.
The view from the second floor of this apartment wasn't bad. The bedroom window was a floor-to-ceiling one that extended out to a small balcony.
Passersby outside were wearing trench coats over turtlenecks. Judging by their hair, the wind was quite strong.
"Just yesterday I was wearing short sleeves, and today I need a sweater..." Tsuneo glanced at the date on his phone.
It's autumn...
Ring, ring, ring!
The phone in his hand rang right on cue.
"That was absolutely reckless!" As soon as the call connected, the Professor shouted.
Such a major incident couldn't be covered up by the police even if they wanted to, simply because there were too many injured people. The news had reported it early in the morning.
"How are those two?" Tsuneo was actually curious about what Mrs. Mizumoto would do.
"As expected, he deliberately chose the latter half of the night to dump those two at her door," Haibara's voice chimed in, her tone flat.
"Oi, oi, oi..."
As they spoke, a familiar voice suddenly appeared.
"Hey, if Mrs. Mizumoto had really done it, how would this have ended?!" Conan snatched the phone from the Professor and asked loudly.
It seemed the great detective had already learned the details from the Professor and the others.
Naturally, with such big news about the Dark Knight, he had rushed over immediately.
"I can help her destroy the evidence," Tsuneo said slowly, taking a sip of water.
What a pity.
Mrs. Mizumoto wasn't the first one to discover them.
